Jeff, I was at the same parade in 1964. Montgomery is one of the three historical Mardis Gras cities in the USA, New Orleans and Mobile being the other two. I also recall SEEING That odd playing field at Maxwell AFB when we drove past it in our way to the commissary.
Nice footage. First I've heard or seen of a Montgomery Mardi Gras parade. Where was the house located seen in the film. Looked like a large building in the background.
@@HubrisMaximus Yeah, that's on Maxwell AFB. They were playing flickerball at Air University until around 2008 or so. Now they've replaced it with a different game that's a variant of dodgeball. I want to say all the flickerball goals have been taken down now, but I can't remember.

richard bozeman I found an address label on one of our movies saying we lived at 17 Mildred St.
Mildred street. Thanks.
A friend of mine just reminded me that the game was called Flickerball. It was tougher than it looks.
Jim McDade that's awesome. I have never heard of flickerball, but it looks like fun. One mystery from the past solved!

That house appears to be downtown, possibly the Old Aronov building or Capital Towers
Ahhh so typical
