No it doesn’t. Page 87 of the Honda VFR750F RC36 service manual states; Turn the engine off, place motorcycle on the side stand and shift the transmission into neutral. Check slack in the drive train lower run midway between the sprockets.
@@rstmg60 yes it does, please refer page 72 of owners manual. It states to place motorcycle on center stand. I have looked at the service manual as well and you're right that it says to check on side stand. So up to you I guess. I think I'm going to stick with the easy way :)

I heared the torque spec for the bolt is 75 Nm.
Hi I doubled checked the repair manual. Definitely says 55 Nm.
