I love the simplicity of the promaster tough black dial on bracelet. It’s the perfect field watch in my opinion. Except that lousy date window. It’s the toughest watch I’ve ever owned. The capacitor will be at 80% capacity in 30 years (I’ll be dead) sapphire, 200 meter water resistance, hardened case and bracelet, super durable. Owning this watch caused my hairline to move two inches forward, dropped 3 pants sizes, liked punk rocks again, started dating cheerleaders (wife is super disappointed), survive on a diet of Big Macs and coke, can drink until 7 am and still go to work and then go out that night. The hair fell off my back. I became relevant again. Buy this watch, it will change your life.
I love my Citizen OD Green "Tortoise". I rotate it with my Seiko Willard-X SPB153. The new ones have the "day", but, hell, I'm old, retired, and alone,... "shimpai nai"!
I have the standard bracelet version. It has been great so far. The green is really nice and would be my second choice, followed by the black. Don't like the blue but it might look better on a black silicone strap. Wouldn't get any of the chronos.
I purchased a green version shortly after they were released and have worn it as a daily work watch and it still looks perfect after tons of abuse ( i do HVAC). The second hand lands perfect. i really like how legible the watch is with just a glance, strong lume and whatever the anti glare coating is they use on the sapphire, it really works . Since my original strap had seen better days I actually purchased a chrono version on closeout in order to get the sweet knurled bracelet that fits perfectly and really looks fantastic with the green dial. I would love to have a blue dial version but don't remember seeing them here in the US
lucky you! i love the promaster tough, too bad they're going away, maybe some day i'll get my hands on one and make it mine. thanks for showing us all the variants and good job!
I'm pretty sure these are 22mm. The watch has some heft to it, so I would use a thicker strap to match. Honestly, the stork rubber and fabric blend straps are great.
Very good watch I am a commercial gardener and this watch gets abused and the glass is unscratched and super accurate. I have the green version but wish I had the all black very ninja looking
Let me start by saying that i'm not a fan of analog chronos, still, these plain "though" Citizens are GADA watches for sure. Only the size is tad big, so for me the ultimate (and one of my "grails"/wanna have) is the one you have on the wrist, an amazing tool/watch, with a beautiful dial, great specs, THE GADA watch in my opinion. Thanks for the "tough showcase" mate, be well, enjoy. PS One Citizen doesn't hit the marks... guess it works the other way around for Seiko, right? 😜
If your eco drive watches are slowing down in used a mag lite flash light or any bright flash light for even 10 or 20 minutes to sort of kick start them it seems to help then put them in sun light
I know some people call it that for some reason, but I think that one person just recently started calling it that bc of the 300m WR and it caught on. The real super tough in my opinion are the long discontinued PMX56 and BJ8034.
Whoever made the decision at Citizen to not have the bezel turn on the chronograph honestly deserves to be fired. Like every watch reviewer criticizes that, and its such an obvious decision to make it work like a normal bezel, that its basically unforgivable to make it not move. What a waste of a watch. I can't stand "fake" watch features.
It's so weird. Casio does this a lot but Citizen is usually pretty good. I don't know what happened that led to this decision. I'd love to buy a bezel from the non chrono to swap in but its not worth the work and money.
@@lookatwrist it’s probably too late by this point, considering the watches came out in 2019 and are now discontinued, but maybe they would do another version and fix some of the issues because the watch itself is very attractive and I could see it being a popular seller. Then again watch geeks probably make up almost none of their profit, so I won’t hold my breath. Yeah swapping the bezel like you mentioned in the video would be interesting but also like you said, idk if I like the watch enough to start modding it. There’s plenty of other great watches out there!
I'm selling the chronos and keeping the other four, for now. I'll widdle it down one or two watches at a time. They're too nice to get rid of, but it's weird to have four. I think I'll keep the black dial on bracelet, and the black case an nylon.

I wasn't going to bring it up in the video, but the same thing happened to me.
im sold

Citizen are kicking Seikos @$$ with watches like this 👍😆

I have the standard bracelet version, can you recommend any watch straps and which size should it be 21mm or 22mm.

Perfect watch for those that work with our hands.
I see a likeness to the breitling in those chronos from afar
Cool concept!

what's a GADA watch.
@@Mr1121628 Go Ask Different Account 😂 Just kidding, stands for Go Anywhere / Do Anything.

Lol...That is THE super tough sat on your wrist at 1:45 ...

Great video. Do you still have all these models?
I kept two or three. I've sold the Chronographs.
the chronograph bezel is fixed =/
Where can i find One?
At this point, eBay is probably the best bet. I think they are outside of retail by now. Watch selling forums may have them pop up.
Wish they made version that was smaller.
i wish they had rotating bezels =/
They do have a smaller version. Check citizen tough ray mears.

Thats literally the only thing preventing me from buying the Chronograph on the bracelet.

Source the Ray Mears versions
I'm thinking of doing the same (having all colors).....hmmmmm
