Thank you mate, I appreciate the feedback. I definitely will do more like this :) They're a nice change (although I haven't done any 1:35 armour for quite some time now - I need to do some of that too)
Good to see you tackling a modest budget kit. They can offer as much satisfaction as more costly and sophisticated kits. The pleasure is in being absorbed in the moment, taking delight when things go well and improvising when there are problems. More please.
@@ModelNerd for planes what about KP? Lots of unusual subjects. I built an old Avia B.535 kit which turned out quite nice. Inter war so biplane but with canopy. Decals had not aged well but it wasn’t an issue for me. A more recent KP Avia B-9 I’d avoid. Or old Smer kits. I can recommend the old 1/40 scale SEA5. Made a really pleasing finished model but required some clean up of parts.
Well said . What you said is what modelling is all about . Fun, enjoyment and relaxation with the end result giving a feeling of achievement and satisfaction .Have found this with every cheaply priced kit l have assembled and painted . PM models are a good example .
Thank you for making this video, I recently purchased this kit and didn't know what to expect - after watching this I'm quite excited for it! Thank you yet again and have a nice day
I've just built the Iraqi version of the two-seat Sea Fury and enjoyed it. I didn't have any issues with short shots or sink marks with mine, but the decals were severely yellowed. I photographed the decal sheet, tweaked it a bit and reprinted the serial numbers- the national markings were fine. I've built several more modern Czech-manufactured kits and the Sea Fury went together much better than most of them. It's basic, but builds into a good-looking model.
For a very basic kit with quite a few flaws you've done a stellar job and it's turned out really well in the final reveal (as viewed from this side of the screen!). Great job all round, MN....onwards to the next project!
Very nice result and the metal finish looks very effective, well done. They produce reasonable, inexpensive kits of some unusual aircraft but there should be an indication of the age of the tooling on the box. Had sink marks on some of their kits but no short shots. They can take a little bit of work to get a good result but they are fun.
Really enjoyed it! Liked the mirror pedestal such a cool way to display. I’d be very happy with that model. Keep these coming they are a great idea! 😁👍👊😎
I recently built a PM Sea Fury but the box art was different. Nice kit, went together well. This one is the trainer version but I also have a regular fighter version by a company called Pioneer2. Boxes were the same size and quality was on par as well. I bought this one as it came with decals to make it a Canadian fighter so as a good I had to have one.
Hi Ross - thanks for watching. Yes, I believe this is the same molding as the Pioneer 2 release. It is nice to see these companies release lots of different versions and schemes - much better than buying a kit and then having to spent another 10 quid or more on a set of decals (half of which you probably won't use).
Ah Ha, I would suggest that the Wyvern, and then the Gannet were propeller driven aircraft. I suspect you meant piston engined aircraft, just counting the rivets as always! But, you have made an excellent job of the kit.
l like PM models . Cheap and part fits are iffy but a bit of work and patience and they turn into good models which are easy to assemble and enjoyable to build . The river counting ,accuracy obsessed modellers with their after market accessories may not like them them but the average modeller like myself find them a good buy and fun to build .
Yes, the Mustang in NMF would be great. I've already done an RAF Mustang in Temperate Land Scheme and I have another on in the stash in desert camo, but I am drawn to NMF (especially now I've bought the expensive Vallejo paints!)
The TS-13 probably reacted with the aluminium paint as it’s a water based paint. TS-13 prefers Tamiya, Mr Colour, ect as there "hot" paints by nature. Hope that helps.
Looks great! You should try using super glue on the dimples. It doesn’t shrink and it sands easily. I found some aircraft made by 4D, a Chinese company. Pretty inexpensive too! About the same as your PM model. Thanks for sharing! Happy days and model on! 😎
Thanks. Yes, a shame about the pilots. I'm trying to source some free 1:72 scale pilot models that I could 3D print. So far I have one but only in a standing pose.
Airfix does indeed do a Sea Fury. Problem is, they are only sporadically in anyone's stock over here in the US. I've had my eye on the Airfix one in 1/48 for awhile. Just never can seem to get everything to line up to get one. I've been on an armor kick lately, though. Nevertheless, a trainer is a rare bird for sure.
Stephen, I should have mentioned it in the video - I think Dora are about to release a new 1:48 Sea Fury. I saw the advert in my local hobby shop and it looked pretty decent.
Sometimes I think the letters PM in these model kits stands for “parts missing!“ I’ve purchased two of these PM kits in the past, sealed up from the factory, and both of them had one part each that was not there. I won’t ever buy another one.
Why beat around the bush ? It's a bloody awful kit . Crude , lumpy with panel lines that a 1/72 pilot could put his fist into . The decals aren't even the correct size . Nasty .
Interesting aircraft, interesting variant, great result, I look at this build as a success. Please consider doing more of these videos.
Thank you mate, I appreciate the feedback. I definitely will do more like this :) They're a nice change (although I haven't done any 1:35 armour for quite some time now - I need to do some of that too)

Thanks David. I definitely intend to do more like this. Do you have any particular brands in mind?

Thanks David, I will check out KP. I am after a couple of the old Smer Grand Prix car kits - the Alfa and something else I forget right now.

This "strange device on legs" is a forward-looking periscope for instructor pilot in the rear cockpit.
Thanks for letting me know

Thanks! Enjoy the kit!

Totally agree. They look very nice when built. Shame about your yellowed decals - hopefully a one-off.
@@ModelNerd Nope! The same problem with a 1973 Airfix Sea Hawk, but relatively easily solved with photo editing software.

Thanks Robbo. Yes, I feel like a learnt a lot in preparation for my NMF B17G :)
Very nicely done, you
made a silk purse out of a sows ear🙂
Haha, thank you :)
Did a cracking job mate. Lovely plane.
Thank you mate
I thinks this was the first time I've heard an english speaking model builder say "Abteilung" correctly. Good job. ^^
Thanks 🙂
Very nice work great kit, I built the Airfix version in 1:48 another great kit.
Thanks Henry!
Thanks!
Thank you, mate - thanks for watching :)

Even with the issues Looks good . 👍
Thank you John
Nice Video, I Like that you try out more uncommon Kits/companies and review them.
Thanks mate. Yes, I'm really enjoying discovering these new companies, even if the kits are sometimes a bit old.
*The Sea Fury is a great fighter, your build is very good MN!*
Thank you mate :)
The part you left off was probably the Instructors forward view "periscope" so don't worry - the plane will still fly !
Thanks Tom - that makes sense. Thanks for the info :)
Really enjoyed it! Liked the mirror pedestal such a cool way to display. I’d be very happy with that model. Keep these coming they are a great idea! 😁👍👊😎
Thank you Ant. Yes, the mirror works much better with aircraft than tanks - especially the NMF ones

Aaaaaaah. Matchbox vibes... My childhood.
Hehe...I bought my first Matchbox kit the other day (a car kit). I'll be building it "soon" :)
I would love to add that model to my collection.
Thank you Andrew
Looks good
Thank you

Thanks - they're good suggestion. And yes, you're right - I did mean piston-engined. Oops.

I think that's a pretty fair assessment!
Good review, I totally agree with you about this model. Looks good.
Thank you Guy
Looks good again, it was a good looking plane I like the natural metal finish a raf p51 mustang would look mint in that finish

I built these kits, when they were on the bargain shelf at Beatties, seems nothing has changed lol
Beatties - that's going back a bit! I remember them too :)
@@ModelNerd interesting subject.. Turned out really well.. And don't stress about that bit that snapped in the video. 👍

Thanks for the superglue tip Peter - I will try it next time. I haven't heard of 4D but I will look them up now :) Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the review. Nice build. Too bad no pilot figures are included in those kits; nevertheless, a nice addition to the shelf.

You did a wonderful job with a problematic kit, but I don't think I want to build that kit 😆
Thank you :) It wasn't terrible, but yes, not show-stopping either!

No, I don't think I'll be a repeat customer either...
Bargain. Unusual subject for a few quid. Needs a bit of experience to make good. But what a lovely change from the ubiquitous types.
Thanks!

Maybe, but the price is low and I had fun :)
