I just bought this today and plugged it into my TV. I get to the setup screen, but its a tiny square in the corner, and the bottons and joysticks don't do anything so I can't navigate the menu. Help?
@@everbrightcine i downloaded batocera on sd card and joysticks and buttons work but i still didnt get any games downloaded. i looked online how to do it and its kinda pain in the ass.

So I figured out mine. I opened the plexiglass cover on the console and found that the 2 of the joysticks connections were not hooked. Hope that works for you too.
I tried going through the setup. I did the update on the install screen. And when I restarted (with the Usb stick removed) it just shows a raspberry Pi screen that just keeps showing the same thing over and over again. And after a few rows it has a row "firmware not found"
Cant get passed the set up. Just shows up as a small screen on the top left of my TV. Buttons not responsive. My tv is a 40" 4k. Any way to have this fixed
Someone explained it here but the initial setup requires a non 4k tv. I have the same issues literally everyone from no setup but locale. No sound tiny screen unresponsive joysticks. Here's what I did. Hook it up to a non 4k TV with the modem directly plugged into the unit to solve the locale/setup and ability to start setup. Once there click setup and setup your language. From here you can unplug the modem and wireless will come on and from here you can simply flash batocera. After you flash it with batocera it will now work on your 4k TV including the initial setup will no longer be a tiny box. Also In order to fix sound highlight the setup tab and push the button associated with Sound I think for me was y and set it to hdmi. Hope this helps others
Is batacera the best for controls, I've bought a preloaded sd card, which is great, i just cant work out how to exit game, im currently playing on recalbox
Hi there. I just bought the console yesterday and while setting up, when I tried doing the sound test there was no volume? I keep trying over and over to no avail. Any recommendations? If I went back in to set-up with the usb, would I have to re-do the whole setup process again? At the moment I’m able to play the 12 free games included, minus the sound. Thanks.
Hey there! Have you tried checking the sound options in the main menu? Open the main menu by pressing the start button, then navigate to Sound Settings. There, you can adjust the audio settings by changing the volume, as well as the Audio Mode and Output. Set Audio Mode to "Music and Video Sound" and Output to "Analog Stereo Output". If that does not work, please check our Customer Support-you'll receive double the support! 😊 Most importantly if that does not work, check the audio cable if it is assembled properly. Maybe a cable is loose.

Then I went into System Settings, to Audio Output and Audio Profile, and changed the setting from AUTO to VC4-HDMI -1Digital Stereo (HDMI), and now I have sound! Awesome! Thanks again. It took over 12 hours to download the set up and finally got it to download buy there are no games. Do I have to download the games now ? So complex not user friendly at all.
I just got this for Christmas and when I put in the micro SD and usb stick and I turn it on it looks like it's starting to then says no signal and nothing happens, no sound either please help

Got mine yesterday. Great Design but during the installation process, the system stuck and I switched off the power button. Now the raspberry seems to start (Red LED is on) but no signal on the monitor. Power Button on console indicates no white light. What can I do?

Is the LED of the power button (upper right of console) emitting light? If yes, then the console is still powered and running. The problem could be the HDMI connection from console to display. Can you try an external monitor to see if it works?
For experts: Unscrew the four screws holding the top plate of the console, gently lift the top plate and check if the cable coming from the HDMI connector is properly inserted into the Raspberry Pi.
I put a preloaded SD card in the usb and nothing happens in the bacocera distro but when I changed to recalbox it works fine but I can't work out how to exit a game, it was really easy in bacocera

No that should not be the case. Have you managed to fix that issue? Pls also check your Wifi Settings. Sometimes if you work with a proxy server, the download Speed could be reduced drastically
We are not able to get the wifi connected. We add password and it shows our network name in the bottom right hand screen. But, when we click on install it says check network. I don’t have an ethernet cable available to go that route. Ideas?
I had this issue and fixed it by shutting the console off(with the power button if possible or pulling the power cable if not) and turning it back on a few times.

@@IconicArcade hello, I managed to get it hooked up, it turns out it was my internet connection, I used an Ethernet cable to plug it in, then tried to use WiFi after updating and it works!

Every Button should work, have you tried to set up the Machine via our USB Stick? One thing you could try is to check the wiring of the machine. Is everything correctly wired. Check the wiring. Are all cables plugged in correctly, especially both ends of the HDMI cable (inside main cabinet and back of console) and the USB-C cable powering the console?

Another thing you could try is to use another USB Stick and download your Distribution on it (I.e Batocera, Lakka, Recalbox or whatever you want to use) Maybe this could also fix your issue. Is the sd card supplied blank? If so can I just use one with larger memory and then do setup? Also can I just plug sd card into laptop and transfer games onto it or is it not that simple?
Hey please check the Card Reader Ribbon if it is plugged in correctly: Make sure that the SD card is correctly inserted in the SD card reader on the back of the console. Make sure that the USB setup stick is not inserted into one of the USB ports on the front when attempting to start the system written to the SD card. Remember that the SD card is empty when purchased and that the data is only copied from the USB stick to the SD card during the setup process. This is initiated by booting from the USB stick. For experts: Loosen the four screws (E to H in the picture) that hold the top plate of the console. Carefully lift the top plate and check that the SD card extender (the flat cable that runs from the SD card slot to the slot on the back of the console) is correctly plugged into the Raspberry Pi. Now try to boot again.

I had the "locale" in my UI as well. I couldn't see the Setup option, or at least I didn't have all the options until I first updated the Iconic Arcade UI. The first time I selected Install, I thought I was installing the OS, but it updated the console UI, then after rebooting and messing around it the Install button eventually installed the Batocera OS.
I just ran through the setup to the point where I have flashed Batocera to the drive and rebooted. After turning the device off and removing the USB stick, when it reboots, I see the Batocera logo for one second then I get a black/blank screen. Anyone seen this issue and knows how to resolve?

@ I have sent an email to support, but can say nothing changed from the moment I initially plugged the unit in and went through the entire setup process. The HDMI cable is well seated and is a good cable. I will try with a different monitor, but as I can repeat this process by removing and reinstalling the power supply, I think the cabling is good, and the light is on the whole time, and I can hear the fan(s) running. The issue has something to do with Batocera not recognizing the monitor after the initial logo is shown.
@@randelflores1335 Support only got back to me a day or so ago to tell me to try rebooting it which obviously I had multiple times. In the end, I found my particular TV and the RBpi4 werent seeing eye-to-eye, and when I use a different monitor, I have visuals. I still do not have any audio, which i am not sure how to troublehsoot, but it could potentially be the cable I am working with. Try a different monitor.
Bought one today, we set up the entire thing but didn’t realize we had to turn it on with the setup USB plugged in, now everytime we turn it on the setup mode doesn’t appear so we are unable to do anything but connect to the wifi. We’ve completely unplugged everything and removed the SD card but nothing gives us a setup option. Anyone else have this issue or was able to resolve it???

Did you register? I’m currently up downloading content on mine aswell but I figured out if you don’t register your account with the QR code on the box or on the console, as soon as you register it will work. We were worried too

You have to connect it to a 1080p screen. I had the same issue when trying to connect it to my 4k monitor. Everything works with 1080p.
my right joystick fails the test part, it wont shift right. any sort of at home fixes for that?

Hey, that happened to me too today. Try unscrewing the 4 screws on the console panel and make sure everything's plugged in inside.

When I click setup I do not get the batocera screen but It did an update and put me to the Retropie screen. Do I have to register first?
I think you downloaded the Retropie Distrobution in that case

The wifi is case sensitive make sure your not using capital letters where you pass is lower. I ran into same issue till I did this

Connect is not an option. I was able to plug in Ethernet but how do you get wifi working? It's just greyed out.
For me wifi was greyed out until I unplugged the ethernet cable.

Yes you can use an sd card with Up to 64 GBS
Yes that is also possible if you have an SD card reader.

@jjsla99 in practice yes. In theory even up to 128 GB are possible but we cannot ensure that works. Some SD cards worked with it and most did not.
What version of Batocera does this use? Also, what version of MAME or FBNeo (for arcade ROMs).

6 hours to download!!! Please do something about the Bandwidth cause every thing is fine here... oh thats six hours on a wired connection
