Works like a charm. That's awesome. I'm dual booting with MXlinux and it was always a pain bouncing back and forth between the 2 os's . Definitely going to take advantage of flatpaks more often now and maybe make Batocera as my first boot option. Thanks for the great vids. 🙂
Wow, such a great video thanks for really getting into the details and spelling things out for us! I totally will be following your lead when i get my retro pc that will have batocera installed!
Awesome video brother, well done indeed! Informative and easy to follow. I use USB drives to move roms onto my gaming computer, but this is a really cool way to do it. My problem is that I tried this method once, and with the limited bandwidth of my LAN, it slowed things down to the point that my wife's video stalled (she didn't approve)! LOL!!! Keep up the great work brother. Be well, stay safe and God bless. Rev. D.
Omg it worked total time saver and i didnt even have to make a sub folder to but the rom in i could just drop the file in the destination emulator sooo cool
@KevsBatoceraBuilds your awesome dude look forward to more of your vids since I'm new to batocera just got a 4tb drive a couple of days ago to well get this thing loaded lol trying to make it into a classic game system so I can just plug and play when I'm on vacation or whenever I feel nostalgia
Hey quick question when I download something form the firefox browser the file download would freeze somewhere in the process is there away to fix that? Then the whole browser would freeze up
@@KevsBatoceraBuilds thanks there's also another error I'm getting when I try to copy a file from my flash drive or external drive to batocera when I try to copy a file it moves like its copying then shows an error message
Flatpaks are self contained, the command is saying "hey, they're with me, it's cool" so that it has permission. This should also work with 7zip, and you should be able to do it all from the file manager without going back into the ports menu. I'm going to see in my setup about putting those apps in a Tools menu instead. Great video, you are helping a lot of people experience the joy of retro gaming! Going to see what other videos you have with wonderful nuggets of information. Thanks!
What about telling Firefox to ask every time where to save the file? that way you can keep the .zip format, depending on the core. Many cores support roms in compressed format :) Like that, you can skip using peazip and moving roms manually into their own folder.
@KevoBato I'm trying to setup my other computer the same way but it's not working for some reason and I can't figure it out no how. I did everything the same way... several times and even uninstalled and installed it again. That didn't help at all because the settings stayed the same. How could i purge firefox out of there maybe and try again. I'm at the point of just copying my partition with gparted from the one that's working but it takes a long time to do. Can you maybe help me out before I do that please. It must be something simple. The command in terminal just doesn't seem to be taking for some reason. TIA
That is super weird! Are both batocera versions the same? I can try and look into that! I will add it to another computer maybe try and replicate it on my end
@@KevsBatoceraBuilds That's awesome. You should make a video how to copy a Batocero setup to another drive or a bigger drive when needed. It's super easy to do with gparted by just copy and paste partitions. Even usb to hd. I have done this like a 1/2 a dozen times. I assume you are a Linux guy. It would make for a good video and I haven't seen anyone doing.
I have a question all my games and files on my batocera all gone and I’m trying my best way to get them back do you have a video or do you have any advice to give?

@ wiki.batocera.org/network_issues There is a few troubleshooting steps in the wiki I provided hopefully that helps getting Ethernet up and running on your Batocera machine also I recently started discord server so if you need anything you can message me there as well
@KevsBatoceraBuilds Thanks for replying, and so quickly. I am connected to WiFi, and I typed in exactly like it is in the video. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, lol
@kenwilks6289 if you can send me a picture on discord of what your typing in the command is curl -L bit.ly/BUAinstaller | bash It is case sensitive so it has to be just like that and the spaces have to be right too also the “|” symbol isn’t “i” or an “L”

My flatpak config won’t open when I click it. Nothing happens

Good suggestion! That’s actually the way I have it set up now, I probably should’ve added that into the video🤣
Thanks bro i can confirmed it works 👍
Thanks for the support !
Curious, can this be done with retrobat since they both are essentially the same thing?
It should work ! I have been working on some retrobat videos too that will be coming out soon

Hey this method isn’t working with Pi’s I’m trying to figure out a work around for another video
Is flatpak not installed initially in version 39? I am not seeing it in my applications. If not how is the best way to get it on my system?
You using a raspberry pi ? Or other non x86_64 pc? If so I don’t think there is flatpak support unfortunately 😭
Yeah pi 5. No worries, going to play around with this on a mini pc I got laying around. Keep up the great content, love it!
Why my downloads are not getting start in firefox???😢
Make sure you run the command then retry
can you install pc games on this metod
I have a question, how do I hide the menu completely?
Which menu are you referring to?
I don't have flatback app😢😢 what should I do i have raspberry pi 5 5?
lol really Batocera 5?? Are you on a computer or raspberry pi?

How to get RUclips for Batocera?
If you haven’t seen it I have a new video on the channel showing off a bunch of new addons RUclips is in that
Which version of batocera s this
I’m using Batocera V39
i installed youtubetv but the controller is not working on it
That’s strange what kind of controller ?
Peazip is not opening buddy 😥😥
I would try deleting and re downloading the peazip flatpak! If that doesn’t work let me know
I dont even have flat pack on mine 😢
A new video will be coming soon for raspberry pis
@KevsBatoceraBuilds 🙏
Do u know how to update kodi on batocera?
That is a good question I will look into it
Doesnt show anything when i search on flatpak
Double check that your Batocera machine is connected to the Internet sometimes mine randomly isn’t connected when it was connected minutes prior
@KevsBatoceraBuilds im connected via ethernet cable. I dont know if there's something wrong
@ it sounds like the flatpak application isn’t communicating with the internet could you try Wi-Fi and see if that works ? To rule out issues

Yea unfortunately it’s only supported on x86_64 devices I’m working on an alternate solution for Rasperry Pis
I had the same issue with chrome
The saving issue is so weird ! But if you use that command but switch Mozilla for chrome it should work!
I get command not found on Botovera 40
