    A pH meter is a scientific instrument that measures the hydrogen-ion activity in water-based solutions, indicating its acidity or alkalinity expressed as pH. The pH meter measures the difference in electrical potential between a pH electrode and a reference electrode, and so the pH meter is sometimes referred to as a "potentiometric pH meter". The difference in electrical potential relates to the acidity or pH of the solution. The pH meter is used in many applications ranging from laboratory experimentation to quality control.
    Applications
    The rate and outcome of chemical reactions taking place in water often depend on the acidity of the water, and it is, therefore, useful to know the acidity of the water, typically measured by means of a pH meter. Knowledge of pH is useful or critical in many situations, including chemical laboratory analyses. pH meters are used for soil measurements in agriculture, water quality for municipal water supplies, swimming pools, environmental remediation; brewing of wine or beer; manufacturing, healthcare, and clinical applications such as blood chemistry; and many other applications.
    Advances in instrumentation and in detection have expanded the number of applications in which pH measurements can be conducted. The devices have been miniaturized, enabling direct measurement of pH inside of living cells.[6] In addition to measuring the pH of liquids, specially designed electrodes are available to measure the pH of semi-solid substances, such as foods. These have tips suitable for piercing semi-solids, have electrode materials compatible with ingredients in food, and are resistant to clogging

    Thank you for such a useful video, could you please tell me did you heat the sample or standards of calibration or not along using steerer?

    Buen video, solo este equipo puede realizar calibración lineal, pero no la segmentada que es mas exacta.

    It is just a suggestion bhaiya, if you could make a video about the instrument first ( in this case like electrodes, ph meter, why we using standard 4,7,10 ph to calibrate), and then you shoot the working.

      pH 4 for acidic , pH 7 for neutral, pH 10 for basic..so the graph is plot from low to hight pH scale

      That I understand bhaiya. I was saying about the overview of instrument and it's components.

    I want to ask, do you have to calibrate every time you want a sample?

    • @AnalyticalTech
      @AnalyticalTech  9 месяцев назад

      if you have 2 days gap. Then calibration is must for getting acurate and precise results.

    But why you keep it Stirring while you measuring?
    And is it okay to measure without stirring?

    • @AnalyticalTech
      @AnalyticalTech  9 месяцев назад +1

      Continuous stirring is must for uniformity of ions across the solution. It helps get accurate and precise result.

    pH meter me offset aur mv ka kya matlab hai??

    • @AnalyticalTech
      @AnalyticalTech  2 года назад

      mv means milli volt

    • @refar1624
      @refar1624 8 месяцев назад

      offset: means how far it is from 0 mV and this unit mV is the potential difference between the sensitive pH electrode and the reference one.
