I love photography and I love watches. Your channel is excellent! I suppose another way of exposing for the highlights would be to use spot metering (if your camera has it) on the brightest area of the frame.
Thanks so much, Brian! Yes you’re right, that will definitely help avoid blowing out the highlights. One thing to be careful of is not to lose too much dynamic range if you put the brightest point in the spot, as the camera will then render that as a middle grey and you could lose shadow detail IF the scene has many stops of dynamic range. But it’s a quick and foolproof way indeed! 👍🏼 -Vu
