In my opinion, I believe that Chat Noir started giving up on Ladybug and Vice versa with Marinette and Adrien. Adrien, being rejected over several times by the girl he has grown affection towards as a partner and bestfriend, he started seeing Kagami and using their small friendship as a rebound to forgot Ladybug. After all, he was in love with his bestfriend, the girl who saw the real side of him. As Chat Noir, not as the perfect son of Gabriel Agreste. It was why he fell in love with her in the first place (except by the fact that he admired Ladybug's bold personality). She was the person who was at his side when he finally broke free from society's rules about being "perfect" and out of his usual shell. Ladybug was more than his lady. She was the only person in his whole life, who he can be comfortable with. He relies on her too much. That's why Kagami is his only pass to forget her. Marinette on the other hand, isn't that close to Adrien. She never got to see the real charming side of him with Chat. However what made her fall for Adrien was how pure he was. She herself, disliked him the first time they met because she thought he would be one of those snob rich kids like Chloe. Marinette's type doesn't revolve around popular and rich kids, her type is more likely an honest, innoecent, pure, and kind hearted boy like Adrien. From the way he apologized sincerely under the rain, the way he sacrificed his umbrella for a girl shows how much proved his purity and empathetic personality. It was a factor of Adrien's personality that Marinette loved. Her only happiness was seeing Adrien happy and I swear deep down, she wanted to be close enough with him to help him with his problems. I feel like she knows how much Adrien was suffering silently and she wants to be there for him. Seeing him fall in love with another girl aches. I wouldn't say that she was infatuated with him, just infatuated with the idea of being with him. Luka was the one who took care of her as she tries to move on from Adrien. She finally sees a guy that cares for her because of her. Yk our poor baby just wanted an honest relationship with two people who care for each other for being themselves. And that, she sees with Luka. I love this love square so much. They just don't see what they've been missing. If Adrien saw how much Marinette wanted to help him, and how much she was willing to sacrifice anything to make him happy, he would've been more than comfortable with her and perhaps become open to them being bestfriends and possibly falling in love with her just like how he fell in love with Ladybug. If Ladybug saw Chat's non-egoistic side. I mean she did see Chat Noir's heroic side, but most of the time she can't take Chat seriously with his attitude that she sees on a daily count. If she only knew that he acted like that around her because she was the only person he could consult to and act freely around. If she saw Chat's soft, gentleman side like Adrien, she would've broken all barriers between them. And one reason that she thought was the reason why Chat liked her was because shes "Ladybug", like I said she dislikes the idea of an infatuated relationship and thats why she doesn't see herself with Chat, not knowing the vital role she has in Chat's social life. My babies :c Please just open ur eyes and you'll see the pieces. To everyone who ships adrienette, ladynoir, marichat, ladrien, don't lose all hope. They will eventually realize it. And to those who ship the "new couples" I don't blame you. It must be hard staying patient. But remember one of the reasons why ML has remained dear to us, it's because of this couple right here.
btw I hate how many people are disliking my Adrien/Chat Noir :( I get how they pity Mari, and seeing her cry in one episode makes them angry but women are naturally that emotional. I get that it's a heartbreak for her. But do you guys ever see Chat/Adrien cry? Only rarely or never (I don't remember any episodes with Chat crying in it because of Ladybug or personal problems). Do you know how much emotion he must've kept inside him all those years stuck in a empty and loveless household AND with the girl he always depended on, REJECTING him, saying that she loves another boy. While Marinette's love antics to get closer with Adrien does get old over time, this scene will forever stand timeless here. Back when she wasn't afraid to put her foot down against Adrien, despite not knowing he was only helping. The fact that she opened up to him after he cleared up a misconception from back in class. The time where she wasn't afraid to speak to him so casually. The rain that kept drizzling. The stare they held for one another, both carrying different feelings: One holding out for a, soon-to-be, friend in need and one extending a hand for someone who she completely misunderstood an action from someone so kind, with feelings blooming from within her heart. While this scene is mainly used to show Marinette falling in love with Adrien, it also shows how Adrien manages to make, not just one but, two friends that day. I love how the roles are switched now and damn took them 7 yrs ! 7 years of my life seeing these two fighting, crying, bonding making friendships and just seeing them growing up and we did too! seeing how so many things has changed now and seeing how adrien is aware of mari but mari now is trying to forget those feelings abt adrien really shows us of how much they have grown. Okay so. We all know Adrien “Just a Friend” Agreste, but we don’t quite know _why_ he keeps saying Marinette is just a friend. Here’s my theory; Adrien is trying to convince himself that Marinette is only a friend. Being locked up inside most of his life and only having Chloe as a friend, he hasn’t really interacted with people, so he never really had a crush on anyone before. He doesn’t know what to make of his feelings of Marinette, he has called her amazing multiple times, asked for her autograph when she designed the cover of Jagged Stone’s album, initiated the dance between them in Despair Bear, said her dancing and cooking were good in the same episode, invited her to his modeling show, and was flirtatious at school after he saw the pictures of himself in Marinette’s room. The list goes on really, but as I said, he never really had a crush on anyone before, so he doesn’t really know what to do. He admires Marinette as a person and a friend and he thinks that his feelings might somehow ruin their friendship. So he desperately tries to remind himself that she is just a friend, nothing is going to change between them. It’s sort of a defense mechanism to avoid losing her. There’s also a possibility that he thinks she’s so amazing and he might not even have a chance with her. Some things might contradict with canon, with Chat Noir and his feelings for Ladybug as well, but that’s just what I think! Edit: More stuff!! So. Chat Noir has said he’s in love with Ladybug, you’ve heard it, I’ve heard it, we’ve all heard it. Now here’s my take on that; Adrien thinks that as Chat Noir he has a chance with Ladybug because they’re both superheroes, but while he’s just Adrien he thinks there’s no way he’d ever have a chance with strong, confident, kind, and super cool Marinette Dupain-Cheng, she’s just too good for him. UPDATE IN LIGHT OF THE NEWER EPISODES (ending of season 3); so our boy Adrien/Chat got crushed pretty hard by Ladybug and how convenient it was that Kagami was there for his when he was vulnerable. i’m not saying she’s manipulative, i hope it doesn’t come off that way, that is, i’m just saying she seems more like Adrien’s rebound. in my opinion, i don’t think he would have actually went after her if she hadn’t sort of approached him first. with Marinette and Luka, it’s a different story, but i’ll always be holding out for our two lovebirds sharing an umbrella ✨

I just came back to the fandom, and I’ve never felt better. The nostalgia, the plot and the character development were everything. In my opinion, Miraculous Ladybug is the best show in the entire universe. It made me a better person too. It gave me hope for the best and to never let your negative emotions get the best of you. The development of feelings between the Marinette and Adrien makes me want to have the same in the future. Final conclusion: Best show ever.
I think the beauty of this scene was just that it foreshadowed how close they would soon want to be with eachother. And the song is so enchanting. i grew up watching this show, and i still do. This great feeling of nostalgia will never get old, i love how big the community is now, remembering the times where seeing concept arts and upcoming shows from Zag Studios was quite literally the joy of it all. The times where fan comics and dubs was what kept us going while waiting for new episodes or seasons, and what those artists art made us feel will never feel the same as it does now, i hope that if those artists no longer watch this show have a wonderful life and career ahead of them. The feeling of the beginning of the story its just, so great and sad at the same time knowing we will never feel the same way with this show ever again. I miss how things were in mlb, but i am glad to see big progress and i hope this will also get new fans hooked to the show and old fans falling in love with it again, its not the best show out there but definitely a memorable one.

Adrien stood there, the umbrella outstretched to cover Marinette's head. She could see the water dripping down his golden wheat hair, and despite the strong dislike for him she had, Marinette wanted so badly to swipe the wet lock of hair out of his face. Her eyes met his. Those gorgeous emerald green eyes with flecks of gold that held so many emotions. Marinette wondered if it was true, 'I was only trying to take the chewing gum off your seat'. Why would his eyes shine like the way that they do now unless he's telling the truth? His emerald eyes held nothing but honesty as the rain pounded behind them. But Marinette couldn't hear it, her heart was beating so loudly that she found herself stuck on her words. 'What is wrong with me?' she thought quietly. This was an experience Mari never felt before, she was utterly confused and nervous. But still, here he was. Apologizing in the most sincere way. He could have just continued walking, leaving her soaked thru, and maybe even leaving her with a cold. But he didn't. She realized that taking the umbrella would mean more then just doing a good deed. It would mean she would except his apology, and even a start of a friendship. So slowly, she took the umbrella from his hands, and she could have sworn she felt electricity as his hand grazed hers. Mari held the warm umbrella handle tightly, despite the fact that she didn't need to, as Adrien took a step away. She felt the need to say thank you, not only for the umbrella. But just as her mouth opened, Adrien's gift closed on her. Adrien couldn't help but think at how comical it looked as he stared at her wide eyed at the sight, it was so funny that he couldn't help but throw his head back and laugh. Marinette slowly peeked her head out from under the umbrella, and with her light blue eyes shining, she giggled. "See you tommorrow" Adrien said with a smile. And then he was gone. (She would cover her eyes with her hands and start crying.) (Adrien opened his eyes. The umbrella scene music in the background would get louder as the shock on his face grew. He would get flashbacks..of things he never thought about before.) ... Adrien: Marinette..I- Marinette: Why Cat Noir, why did you open your eyes?! (She was still crying.) Adrien: your turn..don’t be afraid. I love you.. (Marinette would sigh, opening her eyes slowly. Shock grew on her face as she cried more.) Marinette: There’s no way.. (The chains would fall off. The minute they realized, they ran to each other and hugged.) Adrien: it’s okay..it’s over.. (Marinette would cry more.) Marinette: THERES NO WAY! (Adrien would gasp, then blush. They both cried in each other’s arms as the villain had the miraculous.) (Hawk Moth didn’t take it. He dropped his staff and stared at Adrien.) Hawk Moth: My own son.. (he would start crying.) Take the miraculous back..just do it! (Hawk Moth would deevilise the villain.)
Literally 4th grade I would watch this and be in so much awe with each episode. I would re watch the first season SOOOOO many times. I would always replay the umbrella scene especially, it was so beautiful to me. The way master fu said they are made for each other, this song in the back, the chemistry between Adrien and Marinette, just everything was beautiful. Now years later and I’m in 11th grade still in awe and in love with this show and all the characters. This is truly a masterpiece.
Although their kiss during the picnic scene may have been in the past, since Kagami sunk their ship. Miraculous gave most of us the best childhood we could have asked for, the moments the happiness the joy the "pound it" the RAIN. miraculous gave such good vibes.. i miss the era where it all started.. Miraculous is not just a kids show. I miss miraculous the old miraculous where marinette used to be clumsy around Adrian where chatnoir was head over heels for ladybug. Where it was only those two against the world where it wasn’t about angst but the memories they made.. and gave us, where the characters weren’t replaced.. where it was MIRACULOUS! I srsly miss season 1 & 2 sm where it was all new remembering watching miraculous for the first time and seeing Adrian give the umbrella to marinette.. the agreste arc.. when they used to have a happy ending.. miraculous 💕 🐞 where master fu was alive where Mrs.bustier was single where mr. Before I knew it, ten minutes had gone by while listening and reading comments. Obligatory personal love story: My husband and I (both 21 as I write this) were friends since the 6th grade. We were the best of friends and always high five-d when passing each other in the hallway. We both developed feelings by 7th grade, but neither of us said anything till 9th grade when we went to homecoming together (I know we were both very introverted people that had never dated anyone before). We were so alike and different at the same time, even our families called us male/female versions of each other. By 11th grade, we knew we’d get married and he gave me my promise ring. The official proposal wasn’t till our high school graduation party, where both our families saw him propose to me. We got married that September and will be celebrating our 4 years this year. We were each other’s first and only love, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found my other half so early in life. I hope others will find their other half as we did. She gazed through the heavy lines that were streaking across her field of view, taking shelter next to the school. The local mean girl, Chloe, snickered as she passed by with her big, fancy umbrella. Marinette groaned, annoyance sparking in her eyes. She stood there quietly until someone brushed past her. She was about to say excuse me when she noticed it was Adrien, he smiled sheepishly and waved at her. But, with a huff, Marinette turned her head and shunned him. Adrien sighed. "Just so you know, I was trying to get the gum off of your chair." He said. "I've never gone to school before... I've never even had real friends." Marinette turned towards him, making contact with his eyes, blue on green. She didn't want to believe he was a good guy, for he was Chloe's closest friend! Then again... Chloe is the closest to a friend he's ever had. "Anyway, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I hope we can be friends." He smiled and handed her his umbrella. Marinette took it from his hands and smiled back, at loss for words. Then, to ruin the moment, the umbrella snapped around Marinette's body. Adrien laughed, and so did she. The boy waved and made a beeline for the vehicle that would take him home. Marinette watched him go, her face red and her eyes sparkling. She stood in the rain with the umbrella protecting her as the car drove off. Marinette truly didn't think that one of Chloe's friends could be that nice, but he was. All her belief vanished and she was left with the memory of the boy who gave her his umbrella, who tried to help. Little did she know, she'd return the favor as a masked hero, fighting foes alongside Adrien. Both oblivious to who was standing straight in front of each other, seeing one another every day at school, and every day in the streets. Marinette wouldn't have guessed they'd make such a good team, for she never knew; That the new boy she had just met, was the chat she bickered with, fought alongside, and sacrficed for.

Its been 7 years. Since the first episode (or the second, dont remember), when this song played it gave me an indescribable heartache, even if it was only the first episode, and even if I didn't even know their names, I already knew that this scene will forever be a memorable one for me, and also for everyone who watched the show. Those 7 years passed so quickly, I feel like I started and finished watching this just yesterday, Marinette or Ladybug, Adrian or Chatnoir, to me it doesn't matter, because these two people, tho especially Ladybug and Chat will forever be the most unforgettable duo for my childish heart. I may be crying because of the song, but the comments are taking me way back, to the times when I was a little kid, mindlessly watching Ladybug and Chatnoir together, go through all types of bonding, heartbreak, but most importantly, their friendship. Thank you everyone who has contributed to this show, it will forever be an everlasting show in my memory. And thank you to the comments for bringing me way back in time. Every comment I read made me sob incredibly, its so painful but so enjoyable to be able to read how much others cherish this show. Just like me. Ladynoir are truly a bittersweet duo. Now that half of season 2 is out, I feel like a lot of the fandom kinda forgot about this scene and starting getting more into the other romantic scenes from the new season. Imagine: They defeat hawk moth, it’s pouring outside, hawk moth, feeling absolutely defeated after all this time trying to secure ladybug’s and chat noir’s miraculous hands over his own “I give up, I’m sorry Emily, I’m sorry adrien, dark wings fall.” Chat freezes “n-no it can’t be my fath-“ He mutters just loud enough for ladybug to over hear. He leaps away and goes back home absolutely shaken with wounds and scratches covering his face but before he could even get a chance to lie down or take in all that just happened, Natalie runs into his room “Adrien we must go! It’s your father!” Adrien runs out of the room and starts running to the Eiffel Tower where lady bug is dragging hawk moth (Gabriel) to the police. Watching his own father, Hawk moth, getting sent to prison broke him. Even though he was the one causing terror in Paris all this time he was still his father. Ladybug, who was still a bit confused as to what chat noir said about hawk moth and why he seemed so upset. I mean they did just finally defeat their worst enemy. Shouldn’t he be happy? Or at least relieved? watched as Adrien broke down in the rain, in tears, his world had crumbled. It broke her heart. That night Marinette and Adrien were both restless. They both got no sleep at all. They had no time to worry about school work or doing anything for that matter, but time stops for no one, so the next day on Monday morning they both warily got out of bed and got ready for school, both completely oblivious to each other’s identities and the fact that they both felt the same way, uncomfortable, shaken, weak, and tired. When they got to school they went to their usual morning class where Adrien couldn’t help but notice that Marinette seemed tired, beat up, wounded and scraped just like he was after the battle, he couldn’t help but notice for the first time her sparkling blue eyes which seemed to be the only thing about her that wasn’t dull and sad. When he looked into her eyes he had realized how he felt. It felt like drowning in a deep, blue, beautiful ocean but oddly in a comforting way. It was how he felt when he looked into ladybug’s eyes. But no, there was no way, he would’ve realized *way* sooner if it was her. Well...would he? Then he decided, he had to know, but how could he get her alone to ask her? She was always with Alya. Then he realized. Although it seemed weird it seemed like a good idea to him at the time. After school he would wait for her at the bakery and before she got inside he would ask her then. -TIME SKIP- its 4:00pm after school. The bell rang and Adrien dashed off to the bakery without even saying goodbye to Nino. A few minutes later Mari walked across the street and saw him standing there. “Oh uh h-h-hi a-aaadrien **smiles awkwardly** w-what are you doing here?” “I have to ask you something. I need to know... *come on I can do this* are you ladybug!” he blurted out. Marinette froze, she was speechless. *play dumb* ! No! “Wha-what do ya mean?! Who’s ladybug?” *not that dumb* ! Adrien chuckled “Marinette?” “Yes..” she said sheepishly. “You don’t have to hide it I already know, in fact I have to tell you something”. It was getting a bit later now but I guess I don’t have to be home right now.. Mari thought. Adrien grabs her by the hand...Marinette was shocked at first and scared that he figured out her true identity but now she felt safe somehow. Adrien took her to a secluded rooftop. “Marinette please I have to know for sure” “Isn’t it obvious? You’ve already figured me out. Now what did you want to tell me?” “M’lady I’ve found you at last” Adrien smiles huge and hugs her. “Hold on, what? M’lady?” There was that frightened shocked feeling again. “Ch-ch-chat?” A single tear ran down her face. She kissed him, and no I don’t mean a peck I mean she kissed him on the highest rooftop in Paris. It felt like they were dancing on clouds. The kiss ended. They stared into each other’s eyes blankly both trying to comprehend what just happened. It’s like they were the only two beings in the universe. They must’ve been on that rooftop for hours talking about their adventures together wondering what they’ll do now that they’ve defeated hawk moth and laughing about how dumb it was that they hadn’t figured each other out sooner. All of a sudden marinette’s mother starts frantically calling and texting her asking her where she went. “Oh gosh it’s so late! The sun is already going down! I have to get home” “wait Marinette! I’ll take you home! It’s a pretty long way to walk alone especially at night.” “Ok” she smiles. “Plagg! Claws out! Let’s get you home bugaboo” “silly kitty.” *The End* “Ok Emma time for bed!” “ aww come on dad! I still have so many questions!” “Save them for another bedtime story Emma it’s getting late!” “Honey!” “Coming dear! Goodnight kiddo sleep tight!” “You called m’lady?” “Yes kitty can you help me stitch up this dress really quick?” “Of course” **Marinette looks down the hall where the door to Emma’s room is just cracked open enough where she can see her beautiful daughter fast asleep** **smiles** “She’ll make a great ladybug someday.” **Marinette smiles** “she sure will” **adrien stares at his beautiful wife and wonders how he got so lucky**

It was then, the beginning of a beautiful story that marked my childhood and still marks me today, it is not just a mere soundtrack, but my childhood and feelings, hearing it after years makes me cry for having followed all the events so far in this 5th season, seeing the growth of Adrien and Marinette/Cat Noir and Ladybug, The adventures of Ladybug and Cat Noir taught me how to see the world in a different way, and not just look at the negative points of everything, Now with the end of this season I will miss each “Bye, Bye” little butterfly, each “Lucky Charm”, It will never be forgotten, but now it's time to look forward and wait for the next seasons, this may have been a little long, but I just wanted to describe it through this drawing that gave me emotions, and different perspectives on the way of looking at the world ❤️
Also, I'll never forget Marinette's crazy plans to conquer Adrien, or her clumsy way hahahahah, the Chat Noir jokes that made Ladybug angry hahahahah, how important it is to value family and friends, the Iconic Scene from the Umbrella, also when a new episode arrived, the excitement to watch was enormous, Also Ladybug and Chat Noir's first mission together, following along the years as Ladybug's team grew, each Miraculous holder, each feeling that will never be forgotten, "The Adventures of Ladybug and Chat Noir" teach us a great lesson, to be ourselves, to live our own lives full of love, surrounded by friends and family, even if few, the important thing is that those you have are true and kind, he also taught us that life does not always give us everything we expected, he also taught us that loss is part of our lives, but does not define it, and that winning or losing does not matter, but our ability to accept the changes in ourselves, even if it is what we expected, I have a lot to be thankful for with Miraculous And Every Moment Lived With This Drawing. ❤️🩹

In my opinion, I believe that Chat Noir started giving up on Ladybug and Vice versa with Marinette and Adrien. Adrien, being rejected over several times by the girl he has grown affection towards as a partner and bestfriend, he started seeing Kagami and using their small friendship as a rebound to forgot Ladybug. After all, he was in love with his bestfriend, the girl who saw the real side of him. As Chat Noir, not as the perfect son of Gabriel Agreste. It was why he fell in love with her in the first place (except by the fact that he admired Ladybug's bold personality). She was the person who was at his side when he finally broke free from society's rules about being "perfect" and out of his usual shell. Ladybug was more than his lady. She was the only person in his whole life, who he can be comfortable with. He relies on her too much. That's why Kagami is his only pass to forget her.
Marinette on the other hand, isn't that close to Adrien. She never got to see the real charming side of him with Chat. However what made her fall for Adrien was how pure he was. She herself, disliked him the first time they met because she thought he would be one of those snob rich kids like Chloe. Marinette's type doesn't revolve around popular and rich kids, her type is more likely an honest, innoecent, pure, and kind hearted boy like Adrien. From the way he apologized sincerely under the rain, the way he sacrificed his umbrella for a girl shows how much proved his purity and empathetic personality. It was a factor of Adrien's personality that Marinette loved. Her only happiness was seeing Adrien happy and I swear deep down, she wanted to be close enough with him to help him with his problems. I feel like she knows how much Adrien was suffering silently and she wants to be there for him. Seeing him fall in love with another girl aches. I wouldn't say that she was infatuated with him, just infatuated with the idea of being with him. Luka was the one who took care of her as she tries to move on from Adrien. She finally sees a guy that cares for her because of her. Yk our poor baby just wanted an honest relationship with two people who care for each other for being themselves. And that, she sees with Luka.
I love this love square so much. They just don't see what they've been missing. If Adrien saw how much Marinette wanted to help him, and how much she was willing to sacrifice anything to make him happy, he would've been more than comfortable with her and perhaps become open to them being bestfriends and possibly falling in love with her just like how he fell in love with Ladybug. If Ladybug saw Chat's non-egoistic side. I mean she did see Chat Noir's heroic side, but most of the time she can't take Chat seriously with his attitude that she sees on a daily count. If she only knew that he acted like that around her because she was the only person he could consult to and act freely around. If she saw Chat's soft, gentleman side like Adrien, she would've broken all barriers between them. And one reason that she thought was the reason why Chat liked her was because shes "Ladybug", like I said she dislikes the idea of an infatuated relationship and thats why she doesn't see herself with Chat, not knowing the vital role she has in Chat's social life.
My babies :c Please just open ur eyes and you'll see the pieces. To everyone who ships adrienette, ladynoir, marichat, ladrien, don't lose all hope. They will eventually realize it. And to those who ship the "new couples" I don't blame you. It must be hard staying patient. But remember one of the reasons why ML has remained dear to us, it's because of this couple right here.
btw I hate how many people are disliking my Adrien/Chat Noir :( I get how they pity Mari, and seeing her cry in one episode makes them angry but women are naturally that emotional. I get that it's a heartbreak for her. But do you guys ever see Chat/Adrien cry? Only rarely or never (I don't remember any episodes with Chat crying in it because of Ladybug or personal problems). Do you know how much emotion he must've kept inside him all those years stuck in a empty and loveless household AND with the girl he always depended on, REJECTING him, saying that she loves another boy. Y'all are acting like "Marinette deserves better". Lol as if Adrien and Marinette were a thing 🤡 and also as if Adrien was cheating on Marinette. What I'm saying is that, just because Marinette is the main character, don't always side with her because Adrien did NOTHING wrong. I believe in both sides. Back when she wasn't afraid to put her foot down against Adrien, despite not knowing he was only helping. The fact that she opened up to him after he cleared up a misconception from back in class. The time where she wasn't afraid to speak to him so casually. The rain that kept drizzling. The stare they held for one another, both carrying different feelings: One holding out for a, soon-to-be, friend in need and one extending a hand for someone who she completely misunderstood an action from someone so kind, with feelings blooming from within her heart.
While this scene is mainly used to show Marinette falling in love with Adrien, it also shows how Adrien manages to make, not just one but, two friends that day. His first being Nino, and Marinette being the second. Soon after, he's making friends with others in that same classroom, stangers who saw him for who he is in there rather than who he was on billboards. I love both feelings that I get from this scene.

Okay so. We all know Adrien “Just a Friend” Agreste, but we don’t quite know _why_ he keeps saying Marinette is just a friend. Here’s my theory;
Adrien is trying to convince himself that Marinette is only a friend. Being locked up inside most of his life and only having Chloe as a friend, he hasn’t really interacted with people, so he never really had a crush on anyone before. He doesn’t know what to make of his feelings of Marinette, he has called her amazing multiple times, asked for her autograph when she designed the cover of Jagged Stone’s album, initiated the dance between them in Despair Bear, said her dancing and cooking were good in the same episode, invited her to his modeling show, and was flirtatious at school after he saw the pictures of himself in Marinette’s room.
The list goes on really, but as I said, he never really had a crush on anyone before, so he doesn’t really know what to do. He admires Marinette as a person and a friend and he thinks that his feelings might somehow ruin their friendship. So he desperately tries to remind himself that she is just a friend, nothing is going to change between them. It’s sort of a defense mechanism to avoid losing her. There’s also a possibility that he thinks she’s so amazing and he might not even have a chance with her.
Some things might contradict with canon, with Chat Noir and his feelings for Ladybug as well, but that’s just what I think!
Edit: More stuff!! So. Chat Noir has said he’s in love with Ladybug, you’ve heard it, I’ve heard it, we’ve all heard it. Now here’s my take on that;
Adrien thinks that as Chat Noir he has a chance with Ladybug because they’re both superheroes, but while he’s just Adrien he thinks there’s no way he’d ever have a chance with strong, confident, kind, and super cool Marinette Dupain-Cheng, she’s just too good for him.
UPDATE IN LIGHT OF THE NEWER EPISODES (ending of season 3);
so our boy Adrien/Chat got crushed pretty hard by Ladybug and how convenient it was that Kagami was there for his when he was vulnerable. i’m not saying she’s manipulative, i hope it doesn’t come off that way, that is, i’m just saying she seems more like Adrien’s rebound. in my opinion, i don’t think he would have actually went after her if she hadn’t sort of approached him first.
with Marinette and Luka, it’s a different story, but i’ll always be holding out for our two lovebirds sharing an umbrella ✨

I just came back to the fandom, and I’ve never felt better. The nostalgia, the plot and the character development were everything. In my opinion, Miraculous Ladybug is the best show in the entire universe. It made me a better person too. It gave me hope for the best and to never let your negative emotions get the best of you. The development of feelings between the Marinette and Adrien makes me want to have the same in the future. Final conclusion: Best show ever.

I think the beauty of this scene was just that it foreshadowed how close they would soon want to be with eachother. And the song is so enchanting. This scene is the most beautiful scene in the series in my opinion. There was no stuttering, barely any words, hugs or flirting, and yet this one small scene is even better than the Oblivio scene where they kiss. Without this scene Marinette would have ended up with Luka or even someone else. Kagami would not have had to eventually take her own advice and give up on Adrien and find someone else to love. Umbrella (after): Holy moly, my plan totally backfired.
i grew up watching this show, and i still do. This great feeling of nostalgia will never get old, i love how big the community is now, remembering the times where seeing concept arts and upcoming shows from Zag Studios was quite literally the joy of it all. The times where fan comics and dubs was what kept us going while waiting for new episodes or seasons, and what those artists art made us feel will never feel the same as it does now, i hope that if those artists no longer watch this show have a wonderful life and career ahead of them. The feeling of the beginning of the story its just, so great and sad at the same time knowing we will never feel the same way with this show ever again. I miss how things were in mlb, but i am glad to see big progress and i hope this will also get new fans hooked to the show and old fans falling in love with it again, its not the best show out there but definitely a memorable one.

I wish we'd get an umbrella scene in the movie. Like maybe near ending before the reveal. The umbrella scene was so iconic
Adrien stood there, the umbrella outstretched to cover Marinette's head. She could see the water dripping down his golden wheat hair, and despite the strong dislike for him she had, Marinette wanted so badly to swipe the wet lock of hair out of his face. Her eyes met his. Those gorgeous emerald green eyes with flecks of gold that held so many emotions. Marinette wondered if it was true, 'I was only trying to take the chewing gum off your seat'.
Why would his eyes shine like the way that they do now unless he's telling the truth?
His emerald eyes held nothing but honesty as the rain pounded behind them. But Marinette couldn't hear it, her heart was beating so loudly that she found herself stuck on her words.
'What is wrong with me?' she thought quietly.
This was an experience Mari never felt before, she was utterly confused and nervous.
But still, here he was. Apologizing in the most sincere way. He could have just continued walking, leaving her soaked thru, and maybe even leaving her with a cold.
But he didn't.
She realized that taking the umbrella would mean more then just doing a good deed. It would mean she would except his apology, and even a start of a friendship.
So slowly, she took the umbrella from his hands, and she could have sworn she felt electricity as his hand grazed hers.
Mari held the warm umbrella handle tightly, despite the fact that she didn't need to, as Adrien took a step away.
She felt the need to say thank you, not only for the umbrella. But just as her mouth opened, Adrien's gift closed on her.
Adrien couldn't help but think at how comical it looked as he stared at her wide eyed at the sight, it was so funny that he couldn't help but throw his head back and laugh.
Marinette slowly peeked her head out from under the umbrella, and with her light blue eyes shining, she giggled.
"See you tommorrow" Adrien said with a smile. And then he was gone.
Leaving Mari with his umbrella.

Literally 4th grade I would watch this and be in so much awe with each episode. I would re watch the first season SOOOOO many times. I would always replay the umbrella scene especially, it was so beautiful to me. The way master fu said they are made for each other, this song in the back, the chemistry between Adrien and Marinette, just everything was beautiful. Now years later and I’m in 11th grade still in awe and in love with this show and all the characters. This is truly a masterpiece.

Miraculous gave most of us the best childhood we could have asked for, the moments the happiness the joy the "pound it" the RAIN. miraculous gave such good vibes.. i miss the era where it all started.. Miraculous is not just a kids show. I miss miraculous the old miraculous where marinette used to be clumsy around Adrian where chatnoir was head over heels for ladybug. Where it was only those two against the world where it wasn’t about angst but the memories they made.. and gave us, where the characters weren’t replaced.. where it was MIRACULOUS! I srsly miss season 1 & 2 sm where it was all new remembering watching miraculous for the first time and seeing Adrian give the umbrella to marinette.. the agreste arc.. when they used to have a happy ending.. miraculous 💕 🐞 where master fu was alive where Mrs.bustier was single where mr. Obligatory personal love story:
My husband and I (both 21 as I write this) were friends since the 6th grade. We were the best of friends and always high five-d when passing each other in the hallway. We both developed feelings by 7th grade, but neither of us said anything till 9th grade when we went to homecoming together (I know we were both very introverted people that had never dated anyone before). We were so alike and different at the same time, even our families called us male/female versions of each other. By 11th grade, we knew we’d get married and he gave me my promise ring. The official proposal wasn’t till our high school graduation party, where both our families saw him propose to me. We got married that September and will be celebrating our 4 years this year. We were each other’s first and only love, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found my other half so early in life.
I hope others will find their other half as we did. They are out there looking for you too!

The rain was falling, creating an endless wave across puddles on the ground. "How on earth am I going to walk through this?" She wondered aloud. She gazed through the heavy lines that were streaking across her field of view, taking shelter next to the school. The local mean girl, Chloe, snickered as she passed by with her big, fancy umbrella. Marinette groaned, annoyance sparking in her eyes.
She stood there quietly until someone brushed past her. She was about to say excuse me when she noticed it was Adrien, he smiled sheepishly and waved at her. But, with a huff, Marinette turned her head and shunned him. Adrien sighed. "Just so you know, I was trying to get the gum off of your chair." He said. "I've never gone to school before... I've never even had real friends."
Marinette turned towards him, making contact with his eyes, blue on green. She didn't want to believe he was a good guy, for he was Chloe's closest friend! Then again... Chloe is the closest to a friend he's ever had. "Anyway, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I hope we can be friends." He smiled and handed her his umbrella. Marinette took it from his hands and smiled back, at loss for words.
Then, to ruin the moment, the umbrella snapped around Marinette's body. Adrien laughed, and so did she. The boy waved and made a beeline for the vehicle that would take him home. Marinette watched him go, her face red and her eyes sparkling. She stood in the rain with the umbrella protecting her as the car drove off. Marinette truly didn't think that one of Chloe's friends could be that nice, but he was. All her belief vanished and she was left with the memory of the boy who gave her his umbrella, who tried to help.
Little did she know, she'd return the favor as a masked hero, fighting foes alongside Adrien. Both oblivious to who was standing straight in front of each other, seeing one another every day at school, and every day in the streets. Marinette wouldn't have guessed they'd make such a good team, for she never knew; That the new boy she had just met, was the chat she bickered with, fought alongside, and sacrficed for.

I was watching this scene and for some reason it inspired me to write a poem to my crush, so I played this while writing :) my poem goes as follows: “Roses May be like a fiery red,
Violets are like a ocean blue,
I guess this is a poem just for you.
When I saw you in the distance,

Your hair dipped in roses seemed like perfection,
It’s no doubt your the most beautiful girl around,
So much so that my world came upside down,

I just started watching this show about a week ago and I felt kinda lame about because I'm 21 and probably shouldn't being watching a "kids" show. But this moment honestly took my breath away, it was so beautiful and prue and I loved it so much. I officially a proud fan of Miraculous Ladybug!❤️💚

Its been 7 years. Since the first episode (or the second, dont remember), when this song played it gave me an indescribable heartache, even if it was only the first episode, and even if I didn't even know their names, I already knew that this scene will forever be a memorable one for me, and also for everyone who watched the show.
Those 7 years passed so quickly, I feel like I started and finished watching this just yesterday, Marinette or Ladybug, Adrian or Chatnoir, to me it doesn't matter, because these two people, tho especially Ladybug and Chat will forever be the most unforgettable duo for my childish heart.
I may be crying because of the song, but the comments are taking me way back, to the times when I was a little kid, mindlessly watching Ladybug and Chatnoir together, go through all types of bonding, heartbreak, but most importantly, their friendship.
Thank you everyone who has contributed to this show, it will forever be an everlasting show in my memory.

I feel the exact same way. I never knew a simple children’s show cold hold such a special place in my heart. How has it been almost 9 years and no show has ever took miraculouses place of being my favorite. It just takes me back to a simpler time. When I was a little kid sitting in my living room watching tiebreaker air on Nickelodeon and the first episode I saw. It all feels like a dream. How was I ever going to guess that TO THIS DAY miraculous is still taking its role in my life
Now that half of season 2 is out, I feel like a lot of the fandom kinda forgot about this scene and starting getting more into the other romantic scenes from the new season. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy watching both of these characters get closer but I really feel like this scene is lost, where this is actually where it all started. 😭😭❤️

Imagine:
They defeat hawk moth, it’s pouring outside, hawk moth, feeling absolutely defeated after all this time trying to secure ladybug’s and chat noir’s miraculous hands over his own “I give up, I’m sorry Emily, I’m sorry adrien, dark wings fall.” Chat freezes “n-no it can’t be my fath-“ He mutters just loud enough for ladybug to over hear. He leaps away and goes back home absolutely shaken with wounds and scratches covering his face but before he could even get a chance to lie down or take in all that just happened, Natalie runs into his room “Adrien we must go! It’s your father!” Adrien runs out of the room and starts running to the Eiffel Tower where lady bug is dragging hawk moth (Gabriel) to the police. Watching his own father, Hawk moth, getting sent to prison broke him. Even though he was the one causing terror in Paris all this time he was still his father. Ladybug, who was still a bit confused as to what chat noir said about hawk moth and why he seemed so upset. I mean they did just finally defeat their worst enemy. Shouldn’t he be happy? Or at least relieved? watched as Adrien broke down in the rain, in tears, his world had crumbled. It broke her heart. That night Marinette and Adrien were both restless. They both got no sleep at all. They had no time to worry about school work or doing anything for that matter, but time stops for no one, so the next day on Monday morning they both warily got out of bed and got ready for school, both completely oblivious to each other’s identities and the fact that they both felt the same way, uncomfortable, shaken, weak, and tired. When they got to school they went to their usual morning class where Adrien couldn’t help but notice that Marinette seemed tired, beat up, wounded and scraped just like he was after the battle, he couldn’t help but notice for the first time her sparkling blue eyes which seemed to be the only thing about her that wasn’t dull and sad. When he looked into her eyes he had realized how he felt. It felt like drowning in a deep, blue, beautiful ocean but oddly in a comforting way. It was how he felt when he looked into ladybug’s eyes. But no, there was no way, he would’ve realized *way* sooner if it was her. Well...would he? Then he decided, he had to know, but how could he get her alone to ask her? She was always with Alya. Then he realized. Although it seemed weird it seemed like a good idea to him at the time. After school he would wait for her at the bakery and before she got inside he would ask her then. -TIME SKIP- its 4:00pm after school. The bell rang and Adrien dashed off to the bakery without even saying goodbye to Nino. A few minutes later Mari walked across the street and saw him standing there. “Oh uh h-h-hi a-aaadrien **smiles awkwardly** w-what are you doing here?” “I have to ask you something. I need to know... *come on I can do this* are you ladybug!” he blurted out. Marinette froze, she was speechless. *play dumb* ! No! “Wha-what do ya mean?! Who’s ladybug?” *not that dumb* ! Adrien chuckled “Marinette?” “Yes..” she said sheepishly. “You don’t have to hide it I already know, in fact I have to tell you something”. It was getting a bit later now but I guess I don’t have to be home right now.. Mari thought. Adrien grabs her by the hand...Marinette was shocked at first and scared that he figured out her true identity but now she felt safe somehow. Adrien took her to a secluded rooftop. “Marinette please I have to know for sure” “Isn’t it obvious? You’ve already figured me out. Now what did you want to tell me?” “M’lady I’ve found you at last” Adrien smiles huge and hugs her. “Hold on, what? M’lady?” There was that frightened shocked feeling again. “Ch-ch-chat?” A single tear ran down her face. She kissed him, and no I don’t mean a peck I mean she kissed him on the highest rooftop in Paris. It felt like they were dancing on clouds. The kiss ended. They stared into each other’s eyes blankly both trying to comprehend what just happened. It’s like they were the only two beings in the universe. They must’ve been on that rooftop for hours talking about their adventures together wondering what they’ll do now that they’ve defeated hawk moth and laughing about how dumb it was that they hadn’t figured each other out sooner. All of a sudden marinette’s mother starts frantically calling and texting her asking her where she went. “Oh gosh it’s so late! The sun is already going down! I have to get home” “wait Marinette! I’ll take you home! It’s a pretty long way to walk alone especially at night.” “Ok” she smiles. “Plagg! Claws out! Let’s get you home bugaboo” “silly kitty.”

“Ok Emma time for bed!” “ aww come on dad! I still have so many questions!” “Save them for another bedtime story Emma it’s getting late!” “Honey!” “Coming dear! It was then, the beginning of a beautiful story that marked my childhood and still marks me today, it is not just a mere soundtrack, but my childhood and feelings, hearing it after years makes me cry for having followed all the events so far in this 5th season, seeing the growth of Adrien and Marinette/Cat Noir and Ladybug, The adventures of Ladybug and Cat Noir taught me how to see the world in a different way, and not just look at the negative points of everything, Now with the end of this season I will miss each “Bye, Bye” little butterfly, each “Lucky Charm”, It will never be forgotten, but now it's time to look forward and wait for the next seasons, this may have been a little long, but I just wanted to describe it through this drawing that gave me emotions, and different perspectives on the way of looking at the world ❤️
Also, I'll never forget Marinette's crazy plans to conquer Adrien, or her clumsy way hahahahah, the Chat Noir jokes that made Ladybug angry hahahahah, how important it is to value family and friends, the Iconic Scene from the Umbrella, also when a new episode arrived, the excitement to watch was enormous, Also Ladybug and Chat Noir's first mission together, following along the years as Ladybug's team grew, each Miraculous holder, each feeling that will never be forgotten, "The Adventures of Ladybug and Chat Noir" teach us a great lesson, to be ourselves, to live our own lives full of love, surrounded by friends and family, even if few, the important thing is that those you have are true and kind, he also taught us that life does not always give us everything we expected, he also taught us that loss is part of our lives, but does not define it, and that winning or losing does not matter, but our ability to accept the changes in ourselves, even if it is what we expected, I have a lot to be thankful for with Miraculous And Every Moment Lived With This Drawing. ❤️🩹
