This is a Skoda Fabia 1.2thp but the same engine is fitted to VW polo and Seat Ibiza
Despite the AA diagnosing the fault and it having a new part fitted it was still broken.

exelent job,heat ,vibration,points contact,can do loads damage to wiring looms,good call on move coil packs too,not be a parts canoon,good soldering job too,bad earths can cause lots wierd problems too,try voltage drop on them ,test light,or multimeter ,you remind me of scanner danner,how he works,find it and prove it ,then fix it ,worth a watch on youtube,is good buzz when its fixed or you find the problem ,can use wiring diagrams too,look at circuit design ,colours,were they go ,what they do,love that you check for 5v ref ,thats a main ecu check,so many people only check power grounds ,miss the 5v ref,i had bad rac advice too,car engine stop on moterway at 70 ,pull over,not start,phone it in ,man in van came out ,plug in scan tool,ask if i just fill up with fuel,car not start,said pump gone,ecu,so 7.5 ton truck get me home,next day i do quick tests,ecu alive ,spanner light on,5v ref ,rev counter flickers,crank sensor pulsing ,still not start,so pull fuel filter off,and it was empty,out fuel,tank on dash show half tank,connect fuel line to can fuel,crank over ,fuel suck up ,and engine started,so problem at rear verhicle,drop the tank ,take pick up pipe out,sender unit ,tank was full sludge,wash out tank,refit,add clean fuel,car start up fine ,just goes to show ,need proper diagnostics ,bit hard on moterway ,but only cost me a tank fuel,fuel filter,and sorted,keep up the good work,nice fix
