  • In this video, I give you an overview of the MIRROR COMMAND (Inventor Assembly Mirror Command). I genuinely appreciate you choosing to learn with Engineering Applied and welcome you to the Autodesk Inventor Tutorial Series (Autodesk Inventor Tutorial for Beginners) where we are taking an in-depth look into this awesome and easy to use CAD software! This video is part of a complete and easy to follow Assembly Creation Tutorial Module that covers all of the major tools and functions used to create 3D geometry. You can find the rest of the series on my channel under the "Autodesk Inventor Tutorials" Playlist. Also, check the end of the description for time stamps to specific functions in this video. If there is anything else you would like to see or learn about, feel free to reach out via the contact page on my website.

thank you. a very thorough explanation. I have a subassembly inside of the assembly I'm wanting to mirror. Is that possible?

When mirroring entire assemblies, is there any way the relationship between both can be kept so that if a component of the assembly is repositioned it will do the same to the mirrored assembly?

Great video. Thanks for that. Can a frame generated handrail of 1 1/2" pipe be mirrored over a set of stairs and keep the mitered pipe together? I do it and the mitered end rotate 180 degrees from each other. I'm going to look for a mirrored frame generated assy video.

i mirrored the sketch then recreated the rail.

Hello, How Can I obtain a mirrored part respect a plane, and when the original part moves apart the plane certain distance, the mirrrored part moves symetrically to the original part respect the plane?

Great explanation of everything. But poor use of mirror. ALL other CAD software when mirroring parts on a changing design move and retain constraints (relations) as the model changes size. The fact that you are required to mirror assembly for the mirror components to maintatin reltaions is extra work. When you don't need another assembly inside your assembly.
    anbother case of overthinking it.
