  • In this video, I give you an overview of ASSEMBLY PATTERNS (Associative, Rectangular, and Circular Patterns). I genuinely appreciate you choosing to learn with Engineering Applied and welcome you to the Autodesk Inventor Tutorial Series (Autodesk Inventor Tutorial for Beginners) where we are taking an in-depth look into this awesome and easy to use CAD software! This video is part of a complete and easy to follow Assembly Creation Tutorial Module that covers all of the major tools and functions used to create 3D geometry. You can find the rest of the series on my channel under the "Autodesk Inventor Tutorials" Playlist. Also, check the end of the description for time stamps to specific functions in this video. Was worth waiting as usual 😊,
Quick one , I am assuming that I can pattern a bolted connection too ?
And also hope to see you explaining the amazing Design Accelerator tabs 😊
    Appreciate your efforts

Hello! That is a great question! Yes, you can pattern a bolted connection from the design accelerator tab. After you select your bolted connection hardware from the content center, you can simply pattern as shown in the video. Thanks again for your support!

You would go with the first option naturally right so its parametric? If the bolt holes change spacing at the sketch level, the fasteners should adapt to those changes right?

Why would you manually type in dimensions to pattern the bolt, instead of making the pattern reference the original hole feature pattern? Anytime you change the hole pattern, the bolt pattern would have to be adjusted manually. This isn't parametric. Is this a shortcoming of Inventor? In other words, Inventor doesn't have the capability to have components reference the feature pattern on a part in the assembly?
