- Working on my first ever metric restoration project will definitely be a bit of a learning curve for me! But I am excited to finally be getting into fixing up these old Yamaha trials bikes 😁

Only motorcycle related emails please - sorry, but I just don't have the time to engage in personal conversations.
Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for coming around, and I will catch ya on the flipside!
Take many pictures before and during the tear down. You think you will remember but we never do. As you disassemble put the bolts and nut into individual baggies and label the baggies. Fenders, air box, swing arm, etc. This will make it much easier when you are reinstalling parts. I grew up on 70s bikes, have rebuilt many. If you find that you dont know what that EXTRA part does, feel free to ask. I can send you my email. Good job girl !
That's good advice, yet the Yamaha TY-250 is so simple you don't need to do that other than splitting the engine cases. Now my Yamaha FZ-07 every fastener is different and only goes in a few places. Many are specialty fasteners that you have to purchase from Yamaha .. On the TY-250 her are a lot of cheese hardened Phillips head screws. You need an impact driver, the kind you hit with a Hammer. They are reversable. I always recommended KD brand but it looks like it has been discontinued though Leslye still makes one.
@@mikeskidmore6754 Those screws can be real boogers, especially if they are rounded out by the previous owners . I usually replace them with allen heads.
Кстати, отличный монтаж видео. И "Склейки после титров" (Под конец видео)- это отдельный вид искусства, очень мило :)
Thank you 😁
Thx for the morning smile , didn't see any broken knuckles , didn't hear much cussing and no tools fly'n across the shop bouncing off walls so I think you did good !
Haha thanks 😁
Well you're into it full on now for sure Angel. Great project. Looking forward to the first startup.
Thanks!! Yep, this is going to be a fun one.
Hey! I', number 462 giving the thumbs up on this video lol! Been kinda a busy. Loved watching you take the old Yammer apart. I've never had a problem taking things apart, my problem is putting them back together properly! You do such a fine job on all your projects. I'm gonna look forward to the finished rebuild and you riding that Yammerhammer in the wind! Keep wrenching and putting life back into those neglected bikes! Peace
Making vids of the taking apart stage really helps when it comes to putting stuff back together lol
You are more brave than I! I don’t even take apart a project until I have the manual. This is going to be a cool little bike!
Thanks!!
I'm so excited to see the final result. From the looks of things you're going to end up with a pretty nice classic...
I hope so 😁
Nice project Red , 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes 😃
Awesome job Angel. You tore that down great 👍 have a good night ❤❤❤
Your Father taught you well...your such a Smartee !
😁
Too bad You couldn't put it on the road like Your other Yammie You used to ride....Great video as usual Kiddo!!! God Bless You and Your Family!!
Yea I was going to try doing a vin search and see if it's insurable.
Adapt and overcome. Pretty much what you need when dealing with someone else's goofed up project. On the bright side nothing was over tightened. It's okay to cuss out someone else for shoddy workmanship, especially when they obviously lied to you about it. Watching your videos I believe you like to do things the right way. So in the end you will have a great ride and a great feeling of accomplishment.
😁👍
Keep lifting those engines like that and you will be able to hand start your Shovel !!
Haha right
such a cool project . I love the twin shock TYs
Awesome, Angel
😁👍
All builds gotta start somewhere... good job on the tear down.
Thanks!!
so cool!
😃
Awesome Angel!
Hi again from ON, much respect and many blessings to you. I'm new here and didn't know you did imports, my dad had an '82 Goldwing that he rode into his eighties. Also, nice use of milk crates.
Hi and welcome to my channel!! I actually started out on a Yamaha, but love my Harleys for the sound and simplicity to work on myself. Still love the old Yammys though!!
You got this Red😊
Hi Angel ! 😇 Good job , and good luck finding a manual for that bike !
Thanks!! 👍
RED those bikes are great around town and fun to ride. Not for the hwy much but fun none the less. I want a 250 or 360 dt enduro so bad 😂
I just wish these were dual sport so I could take them on the road
@RedRiderCanadaBC Red you can with a 250 but they vibratorate a lot till your hands go numb lol. 60mph to 65 is not bad. But around town there fun. They are super quick when you hit the power band at 6grand. Between 5 to 8 grand there animals
Good job Angel! Wrenching rice!! Lol ❤
Thanks 👍 lol
The "Crickets" at 4:15 had me giggling like a 9 year old girl! Yamaha had a creative way to gain ground clearance... Just don't put a frame under there! I like how you solved the "how do I hold this thing up? with the 2x4 and the jack stands... Clever chica!... Edit: You just gotta hate it when your eyelids get sweaty!! Long live the Outtakes!
Hahahah 😂
3:49 that is a domino throttle tube they are good quality. they feel cheap because they are all plastic to make them light . it is considered a upgrade over stock
Cool 😎
. cheers Red great job....
Thanks 🍻
Welcome to being a gearhead, chick! We have an ever amassing number of projects, and keep running out of room. It wouldn’t be a “proper” garage unless you have to move fifteen things to get to one.😂😂😂😂😂
Hahah man so true
Rewatch 🎉
Thanks!!! 😃
If you put air on the ramp your kicking leg will get weak 😊
Use it or lose it 😂🎉❤
One issue is clogged muffler. The TY had extra baffles (vs a motox bike). The 2T makes more soot.
Also, there was an enduro kit with footpeg relocation and bigger seat.
Thanks for the info!
I think that the last time someone rode this motorcycle on the roads, goths and a Motorola Razr phone V3 were in fashion at that time.
Great!🦉🦉🦉
❤
Looks like a good project, keep at it!
Will do!
Every time I watch other peoples videos is time I am not working on my own bikes.
Exactly the guilt is real hahaha I haven't even got mine on a battery charger this year at all
@@jeffelliott3439 I have two street bikes and two snowmobiles that are always on the battery maintainer . Plus a number of trucks and loaders
Cool !
You always impress me with your engineering work - btw: per staying to the right, when feasible plz see Halloween at @ClassicRider
Okay pretty girl you have to stop it ==your keep on keeping me up at night dang you are fun to watch for sure pawing around in the tool box that cracked me up love from Maine.
Haha I'm glad you like the videos!
Red Ryder, I sent you like 4 different e-mails with links to PDF file manuals. They all came from the same web site that had dozens of different Yamaha Manuals. I was hoping you would use the link to find the web site so you could search or the manuals you wanted. I don't know what year your TY is .
Cool, I'll check em out. Thanks
What you think about labeling the parts? So you know where they go.
Good idea, but I think a shop manual is the ticket for working on anything
🆒 Video Red Angel Goddess ...!!!
Thanks 😁
@@RedRiderCanadaBC Welcome !!!!
Nice.
😎
Hey yo new video as I enjoy some after work beers
😃😃
Red…..take pictures….tag a few parts…..theory of those factory builds differ big time from American iron…..oh, but the wheels and bars have similarities 😅. Go for it, you can do it ! 💕👍
👍👍👍

I feel sorry for your back (I'm worried)! To make it easier to remove the engine, you should use a jack - you just need to put the jack under the engine and adjust the whole process.. In particular, it is necessary when installing the engine back in the framework. (ordinary jacks, as in any cars.. Something like a diamond..). I always use several jacks (diamond-shaped or bottle-shaped).
I appreciate the tip! 👍
✌😘

A your the best. 🥌
I feel guilty watching this when I have a project bike (xs650 custom, frankenstein) in the garage that's going on 3 years.Oh well...
You can do it!! The anticipation of a project is always more overwhelming than actually doing the project.
Модельным агентствам стоит обратить на тебя внимание, ты бы хорошо подошла для рекламы головных уборов (кепки тебе очень идут к лицу..). 🤔
😁
There is an easy way to do it but I aint saying. HA!
Haha darn!

If you don't know what you're doing, we are ALL in big trouble! You got the least-enjoyable part of the rebuild over . . . congratulations!
😅 😅
Don’t take it apart too much 🙁
A your the best. 🥌Oh that glide 😮
How you make yourself look good all the time, you can be working on a bike be dirty and still look good doing it.😊
Thats nice to hear. Thanks 😁
