This is my home faire, and I miss it so much. ♥ First thing in the morning like the beginning of this vid, at gate open (10:30 AM) things are generally calm and not very crowded. Most of the shows don't start until 11:30. So this is a great time to hit the clothiers and get your costume pieces if you need any. For my family, we generally made our way to the back of the village and had a sit-down meal at one of the food courts or at the Peacock Tea Room where you can watch shows at the King's Hall stage if you get a good table. We like to hit as many of the back of the village shows as we can and work our way forward (to help cut down on backtracking, though this isn't always possible; the King's Hall is the stage for several different once a day shows). There is a fantastic Pub Sing at the Brewer's Pub (the place this vlogger went to where it said no alcohol til 12:30) that starts at 5:30 pm, but the place fills up FAST, so we generally like to get seats if we can around 4:30 and watch the last two bands before the pub sing. (Brewer's has musical acts every half hour to 45 minutes.)
Now, the last joust of the day *also* happens at 5:30pm, so you have to make a choice on which you'd prefer to see. But on Memorial Day, always, always, always opt for the Pub Sing. Memorial Day is traditionally a day of total wackiness and crazy fun things have happened every year.

Try the North Carolina Renaissance festival!!! They also have lots of permanent structures in a storybook village type setting
Every weekend in 2023 from Sep 30 to Nov 19

Hope you visited the Washerwoman wenches. They are usually hysterical. We have a huge renfare here in Pittsburgh as well.

Looks like the same performers as Carolina Ren Faire. Similar setup. So if you miss the Carolina in the fall, I'd say hit this in the spring.

I have been to Texas Renaissance Fair. This place looks very very very similar. Signage is exactly the same.
Might have to go to Georgia. 😂

The artists who do the signage are famous within Renaissance Festival culture all over the country. Most travel from fair to fair, so it's no surprise that they're all similar. Anne Curtis, who sells bone jewelry, oddities and curiosities, does a lot of artwork like this, and has traveled for over 40 years with her husband, Derek, selling their wares. Remarkable people!

I loved this video huzzah. A group of me and my friends just visited Garf last weekend for the first time and loved it. We are all patrons and friends of Rota Temporis and The Reelin Rogues as they just finished at out Renfest Flarf in March. We were all very impressed and we are already planning a return next year . We missed some parts like the haunted house as there is only so much you can fit in 2 days.
