Thank you. I needed to set up a remote port mirror and collect the data in Wireshark. This was very helpful!

Is port mirroring just for wiresharking? I thought it could be the solution to copy packets from one port to two destination ports of 2 different firewalls

Why are you using a $10K+ switch for a home network? :)

Can you do remote mirror ports? (IE: Ports on another network for remote troubleshooting?)

Can you explain how to remove the mirror ports? I mean after the test?

Hello Tall Paul, my network sensor cannot decapsulate HP ERM packets, can you suggest any workaround for it?

Hello, how can we use access list in the remote mirror process?
Configure class with match and ignore and then class action mirror commando???
I have a dhcp server and i will capture with wireshark but this is not directly connected in the switch, so i need to have a access list to filter only with this destination ip.

Hello, I want to do port mirroring between aruba switch and cisco switch. Aruba swicth source cisco switch destination. Can you help me how to configure?

    • @TallPaulTech

Why would the cisco switch be the destination? No switch is the actual analyser, that's Wireshark's job.

@@TallPaulTech I Will not use for analys. I want to use for İp phones. 3 ip phones connected Aruba switch. And Aruba switch connects Cisco switch. I want to mirroring ip phones to Cisco switch. In the local mirroring it is working. I saw the packhages on wireshark. But when i try for remote its not working. I change my İp and connected Aruba switch no packhages showing up. (Aruba and Cisco switch İp blocks are different). Thank you for reply.
