This truly breaks my heart in so many different ways and does make me feel more protective over our boys. They deserve the world - and I hope they can feel the love and support that ARMY gives them.

I feel like the reason the Hamburger incident gets to so many people is because it was the same type of petty elementary school bullying that everyone has gone through at some point, and the age difference between him and everyone else just made it hurt more (these guys were all about twice his age, he was still 18, he wasn't used to that kind of negativity because his hyungs are usually there to stand up for him, he was extremely shy at the time, AND it was his first time being on TV alone). It's like when you're a kid trying to hang out with the "cool older kids" in elementary and the absolute crushing disappointment when they make fun of you for something you thought was good about yourself.

@@justlim622 Ironically I think the guests of that episode had said on some other show that they didn't think it was a big enough deal to warrant an apology. Because the boys were already famous then, I don't think they cared about the backlash (his fame was one of the things they made fun of him for throughout the entire episode, saying the voting would be unfair because Jk had so many fans compared to them and making passive aggressive jokes multiple times about how he's privileged just cause he's good-looking). And the hosts weren't as bad since they weren't actively making fun, but they certainly didn't stand up for him either.

Let's be real, War of Hormones wasn't misogynistic. It was just an honest song about what guys in that age range go through. They were straight up saying that they struggle with their hormones when they see a pretty girl, and guess what? That's just being honest. The title itself gives a clear idea to how they see it. A war. An internal conflict. And it's true to what guys in their late teens and early 20s go through. Bangtan has always been about talking about their experiences and being a voice of people their age.
The entire album, Dark & Wild, was really just about the turmoils of young adulthood. In the title of the album too, you can already tell what the sentiment was going to be. The first 3 albums spoke about school and issues of teens. And then from there, the darker days of coming to terms with adulthood. And then the HYYH series. Everything was thematic with stories they wanted to tell as they go through life.
Antis and fans of other groups were just grasping at straws to find something to shit on and unfortunately the media picked up on it and then some ARMY took it as truth and they themselves started talking as if the song was offensive. It isn't. We need to stop spreading this story as if BTS were misogynistic boys who needed to learn a lesson. Yes, Namjoon has learned a lot from the experience and has gone out of his way to speak to experts in women's studies, but I'm sure that whole ordeal also caused him unnecessary pain.

Ah, the Jungkook/Flower Crew issue - remember he was still 18 years old at that time, it was his first time on a show by himself, without any of his hyungs, and he was a pretty sheltered and naive boy at that time (yes, he was used to hard work that would have flattened an adult man, but the six other members were used to shielding him from the nastiness of other people). His little face, so bewildered, then sad, it breaks my heart every time I see it - I hate bullies.
Tae was really close to his grandma, his parents were poor farmers and he was raised by her for about 14 years - he only made the announcement because fans saw he was down and kept asking what was wrong - he was genuinely devastated, the poor boy was so heartbroken 💔

Only correction, Vs parents were not farmers. There are a number of mistakes in that Who is BTS video. Enough of us complained till he changed some inaccuracies in his update but he didn't change that one. V's parents worked in the city during the week and he lived with his grandparents (along with some other cousins and siblings who came and went) during the week. His grandparents owned a farm so that's why he was at a farm. His parents would come and get him each weekend. His father made enough money to buy him a Swiss watch early in his career and travel overseas. He also owned a garmet business and was fashionable. He wasn't poor.

And the industry is probably even worse. Very little support, racism, xenophobia... Being downplayed by the western industry, being fed on by the kpop industry, slammed for every single thing, having hate pieces written about them and their fans, having charts reformed in hopes it would stop them...
Idk, people just never learn. We've proven so many times that if you hurt the guys in any way, we'll just work twice as hard. Karma is an ARMY and she's been busy for more than 8 years. One day, tho... one day they'll finally realize.

About "war of harmone" & misogynist lyrics bullsh*t:
I don't see anything wrong with the lyrics of the song. All boys go through puberty and the things BTS sung in this are just reflective of their experience going through that phase in their lives. This is the reason I love them and their songs.. they didn't hide anything and covered all the feelings/thoughts of a person who is in his/her adolescent...one can see them growing up from then till today…I personally don't find the lyrics offensive and “most” Armys as well..as I agree they are expressing the struggles of dealing with hormonal changes in adolescence, and I'm sorry but sexual attraction is the number one pressing issue in most hormonal teens regardless of gender. There's a couple of issues I take with people who found this offensive. First, the double standard. You can't tell me young women were purely innocent in their thoughts and feelings as they watched these young men dance and sing, they just didn't make a song about it, at least not publicly. Secondly, the entire concept BigHit wanted from BTS is a representation of the youth culture and the issues youth deal with as seen and heard through the lyrics and music of BTS, and of course everyone has or will experience sexual attraction. Yes, they refer to see through clothing and high heels etc, but I've seen hundreds of posts referring to JK's abs, Jimin's body rolls and shoulder "accidents" Tae's tongue...you get the idea, and while many comments aren't necessarily teens it's not a problem. There can only be an issue if the lyrics were implying that I'm only attracted to girls who wear heels and sheer clothing, not sneakers and sweats. Anyone who has experienced adolescence knows however that if they're sexually attracted to someone the person could easily walk around in a potato sack and an adolescent would still be entranced.
A lot of people were offended by that line, "Girls are equations and us men just do them". Personally, I took it as "do them" meant they were puzzles to be solved, not a sexual act. RM was honestly shocked that people were offended by the lyrics and that they could be considered misogynistic. It was definitely a learning experience for him. He apologized and has since run his lyrics through a few professionals in women's studies before releasing a new song. They don't really release songs like this any more. But to that a korean Army said translation in English were a bit off, which lead to misunderstandings and explained it saying : “I was kinda surprised it's translation was "do" because that part "do them" CAN actually sound offensive to some people, because the meaning of that word 'do' is not clear. However I can clearly say that it's not meant that way, and Korean version lyrics tell that. Words are more specific, and not controversial in Korean version lyrics, because it doesn't say 'do. That part in Korean is 여자들은 방정식 우리 남자들은 해 which says we men are 해 is a word for mathematics, and it means the 'answer/the final number'. So it means they solve. the complex minds of the girls. 해 DOES have the meaning of 'do' too, but its not appropriate to translate this part of the lyrics that way, because if u say it means "do them, it doesn't fit the sentence there. Since there's no Objectives for that Verb 'do' and that's... kinda awkward. plus. the context and meaning of the whole sentence is talking abt mathematics and Equations so what u said is true. It doesn't mean sexual way”
BTS hv made few mistakes unknowingly early in their career and said things which can be considered offensive, as they were young but they hv re-educated themselves, apologized and never repeated the mistakes again..but I hv seen many k-popies and so called Multi Armys twisting many things because of that..take for example this song.. it's blown out of the proportion just to cause drama..and they were sadly successful in that..haters/antis tried every lil thing to bring BTS down & sabotage their career ngl..

The thing with the kpop industry is that small players are allowed to play the game but only if they play by the rules of the big institutions. Also, you can play, but don't even dream of winning above the groups from the Big 3. But BTS, a small group from a small company, dared to play the game while making their own rules. They used their own resources and built their own table because the big players didn't want to give them room at their table.
So from the viewpoint of the big companies, how dare this small group try to succeed by rewriting the whole game? How dare they not play by our rules? So they took their established fandoms and their media partners and threw them at BTS in the hopes that the small group would be threatened into playing by their rules. Unfortunately for them, BTS has BigHit, Bang PD, and ARMY behind them. They continued doing what they knew to do, outside of the politics, outside of the media play, outside of the established rules, and continued to win by their own merit.

SUGA mentioned *G-Dragon* , who was and still is one of the main rappers of Big Bang which was THE biggest boyband back in the day (they are on hiatus atm after a few scandals). G-Dragon was also THE style icon at that time.
What is so funny about the *rappers* who told them are girls - one of them who was running his big mouth (and wearing sunglasses INDOORS to be cool) B-Free had assault charges in 2020 because he attacked a fellow rapper. Additionally there were drug charges within that group of 'real' rappers which SUGA incorporated in his Daechwita song (I am not like you weak pill poppers who put on a show - something along the lines), saying that he does not need drugs to be a good performer/being a creative person (Antis unfortunately tred to spin it that he is against ppl with mental health issues who depend on meds which was stupid as SUGA was and is still very open about his own mental health issues and in some of his songs he even admits to have been in therapy and also on medication). Basically this scene just made clear how misogynistic the underground rappers were.
The *misogynistic lyrics* are a joke. War of Hormones is a song about teenage boys discovering girls. They make fun of themselves for being hormonal. There is a line that the antis latched on - Girls are like equations, Boys need to do them. In Korean it is more likely in the vein of Girls are like a mystery/puzzle and boys need to solve them.
*Flower Crew* : That guy who was an Olympic athlete before he became a show host picked on a 16 year old boy from day one of the shooting. When it was originally aired on a pay per view channel, it was a shock to the audience and the show which aired later on normal TV in Korea had to reshoot the first two eps as not to create even more backlash for the show host.
*Antis* are usually fans from other groups, especially EXO-L fandom went crazy whenever there was a mention of BTS or when BTS had better sales than their band. And all this was even fired up by family and friends of the band members.
Korean fandom culture is highly toxic in general and ARMY is part of this, too. It is in the minority but it is present - as seen beginning of this year when there suddenly appeared an alledgedly official JK spotify profile and had playlists with a strong LGBTQ leaning both in songs/subject and artists. The homophobic part of ARMY went berserk and now the profile does not have any playlists whatsoever). That day ARMY as a whole failed to be good fans IMHO. What if one of the members is part of the LGBTQ community? That was a slap in the face.
As for your question *why ppl do this* , esp. the antis? A lot of fans think they are supporting their own band when they crap on other competitors.
*The point of accusing them* is that in Korean media this is a SCANDAL. It doesn't matter if it is true or not. Antis hope that something will stick and the more they heap onto them the more chances there are that something will crop up.
The *exemption petition* was a joke, they used BTS as an example and when the law was passed using the achievements of BTS as guidelines, they were pissed off. The big companies shot themselves in the foot here because only BTS can ask for postponement till they are 30 (which they have done) but no other groups atm.
*German radio host* he was fired from the show he made the comments on but he is still with the radio channel which pisses off a lot of folks - including me. He was peeved that BTS did a cover of Fix You by Coldplay, his alledgedly most favourite band. Joke's on him as Coldplay collaborated with BTS only a few months after :)
    Cute baby girl :)

Thank you for going ahead with this reaction. 😊 ARMYs always have receipts. Believe it or not, this video is a very shortened list of the struggles BTS have gone through. Plenty of which were started by antis from other fandoms and ganging up against BTS and ARMY. That’s the reason for our saying: “BTS only has ARMY.” That is also one of the reasons why some ARMYs can be wary or suspicious of other fandoms. You can say that older ARMYs are actually like “veterans” who have gone through the hells of fandom wars. they survived but have these scars. I salute all ARMYs, especially older ones who have weathered these storms beside BTS and continued supporting the guys even through the constant hate. 💜
As you have read, antis often pretend to be ARMY and act despicably to try and put BTS and ARMY in a bad light. This just recently happened again with members of several fandoms who have always hated BTS and ARMY. The people involved have admitted to it and have apologized. So if there will be hate in your comments, I’d bet they are antis pretending to be ARMYs.

I believe there are 3 really big music labels in Korea which has owned and ruled the music industry. Korea music industry is like politics, they have a big impact in their society so knowing that a nobody, small music industry had boys coming up so fast and successfully threatened everyone in the music industry and all the die hard fans of other groups in their groups they so loved for so many years... it could be alot for others to believe or understand. Alot of these die hard fans or trolls would do anything to try and take down BTS and their company. Only til now with their success I feel some have finally either gave in or understand and respect them as artists. They have definitely paved the way and though their are still alot of haters, our boys have risen and learned to get over it... they are at a point where they know they have more confidence then to go back to all these negativities that held that back and put them down back then. Hence why I feel they are so successful. The hunger to fight and prove others/haters who never believed in them/looked down on them is a really good reason why I feel why they are so successful!

I think since they do not belong to the three major music companies in South Korea, they are tailored to be hated by being manipulated by information.
Three companies have their own TV broadcasting companies and newspapers.
It seems that the desert has gone so far with so much blood, sweat and tears that it becomes the sea.
That's why the words that people shouldn't judge people by the category they speak are very emotional......

Great reaction. I knew you'd cry. It's so sad but ugh... show business. Some of it is extreme because fan wars are at another level in Korea. It's spilled over into international fan culture which is unfortunate. Most aren't problematic but fans of other groups are REALLY jealous of BTS's success. I get it too. They are DOMINATING. You literally will NOT win against them if the competition is fair. They are THAT group. But Exo and Big Bang were that group too and didn't receive THIS level of hate and trolling. Not that those guys haven't suffered. Exo fans...and sasesangs... OMG!
Xceleste makes such great videos. Thanks for reacting and learning. I'd love to see you start some of these silly videos like "Jimin being the sweetest thing" or something. They will make you smile and love them even more. Sweet Olivia is beautiful too! Happy baby!

as an asian when i started hearing their appearances on America it made me worried. though the army are big, on a global scale though we are very small and weak. bts means bulletproof boyscouts - bulletproof because they wanted to block all stereotypes. latter on it was changed to Beyond The Scene for youths to look beyond mainstream. it's nice to see people on youtube who gradually learn to like bts even though originally they didn't like them. i appreciate you being nice to bts a lot :)))

Though this was a hard video to watch, I am glad you took the time to watch it. They suffered so much more than what was shown here, but this certainly gives you an insight. Knowing this makes it easier to understand why we are so protective of them. The culture of anti fans is sadly quite prevalent in the industry which is something most westerners wouldn’t understand. I have never understood why people put so much effort and time into hate! These guys just did their own thing, made and shared their music with everyone. The fact that they stayed so incredibly humble and kind even when so many were so openly cruel is a testament to them and their upbringing. It was sad to see you cry, but I am glad you have this insight. Oh and Olivia is damn adorable!

After all these years and hardwork still the big3 fans deny the achievements of BTS. I like some groups of big3 but I will never be a part of their fandom ever. In 2021 some few BTS fans left the fandom because they think BTS is becoming westernised when clearly the groups they are now currently stanning have more English songs than BTS made and none of those songs have any meaningful lyrics

Yup..a large majority of longtime kpop fans that were there to see this go down still refuse to acknowledge the extreme h@te BTS was getting throughtout that time, even during their rookie years, both vips and exols spread extreme rumors at bts to try and destory their image..any og k-pop fan knows this..imagine two giant fandoms at the time attacking a relatively new group over baseless rumors, the coordinated attacks during their rise after Wings are the biggest reasons armys today are extremely defensive and the fact BTS talk about this eras are not a secret but for some reason many non-army kpop fans still refuse to acknowledge that this had a lasting affect to BTS and with how armys act now.
Many bts fans still refuse to listen to other groups, part of which that the kpop community itself alienated armys and bts with the calls of "removing bts from kpop" in 2017, up today with kpop fans still belittling newer fans for being armys...& It's so annoying..they act like nothing much happened that time.. it's true big 3 fans are so against BTS & army in every possible way..to be very specific "it's k-popies vs BTS & Army ngl"

Good for you that you responded to this, Alexa. And yes, I cried with you - again! You're right; it's important to watch these kind of videos as well, to really get why BTS' success is so deserving of respect and their journey so beautiful.
I really feel that people doing that kind of shady stuff to others need to actually hear what BTS’ message is. SELFlove. It starts with loving yourself, and once you do that, you can never NOT empathize with someone else. Because if you truly love yourself, there’s a level of respect and empathy towards every other person because you’ll know everyone has their own demons to face and you can’t be one of those demons. Truly loving yourself and being a demon to someone else can’t coexist in the same person.
Personal attacks really anger me so much, because it’s so cowardly and unjustified. So when I first saw this, I was bawling my eyes out. I couldn't believe what the boys have been put through. Especially after seeing how they treated J-Hope in the beginning (there's a video that goes more into detail about that: ruclips.net/video/VENq6Rh8SMU/видео.html).
And not just that, but having the media join in? Having organization ban them or use them for their own agenda?
I just wanted to pull them through the screen, hug them and tell them they're beautiful people and no matter how many people would try to put them down, there would be at least 10 times as many people who would lift them up. It heightened my feeling of wanting to protect them and keep them safe. Exactly what ARMY stands for, right?
I've never seen something like this in other (boy)bands and the raw and vulnerable reactions of the boys are just both saddening and beautiful at the same time. Being able to be that open is a gift, because so many people don't show this side of themselves, but BTS does. And it just brings more people into ARMY and it fuels ARMY’s love for them. And it goes both ways; because the bond between ARMY x BTS is just rock solid and beautiful and… Okay, I’ll stop now. I just love them so much.

On the “misogyny” issue, they are referring to Boy in Love and War of Hormone. I wonder if the word misogyny isn’t being slightly misused. The word means dislike of, contempt for or prejudice against women. The lyrics of these songs show no contempt imo, although they do objectify women to an extent (nothing like hip hop lyrics in the west tho!!). They describe the typical teenage boy/young man, and how they become flustered (euphemism) around girls - they sing about loving high heels, and how girls are perfect from the front and the back…🤷‍♂️😂 These thoughts and feelings are fairly typical for both boys and girls in their mid to late teens - I remember being dazzled by a boy (he didn’t know I existed 😂) because of how he looked in faded, soft blue jeans - and I haven’t changed as much as I thought, I go weak still when I see Jimin or Jungkook in slim-fitted jeans 🙈 So they were being authentic - but I guess it’s not PC…

BTS were always the underdog. in Korea if u weren't part of the "big 3" companies, (Blackpink is from one of those companies btw) u didn't have access to media or shows. the fact that they came completely from left field and threw the whole system out is amazing. Same with the American music industry- radios didn't want to play them, the Gr*mmy's and other companies wanted to use them for clout and didn't want them topping charts but bc of the fanbase BTS always comes out on top. they try to hold them down but our numbers keep them high. so the haters can hate, but we go high bc we LOVE them. their genuine passion for music, their fans, their sense of humor- they're a group of good guys.

Hi Alexa. Thanks for the live! Your reaction today is one of the reflection of BTS’s hardwork back in their early stages full of unexpected discouragements back then. I assume it hurt them terribly, for sometimes the denial had hit not only one member but as a whole group…being the witness seeing a family member suffer in unfair way is more painful than yourself gets injured. Your sympathy today for them is a glory for them, because their past sacrifices gets paid in a way. If I'm not mistaken BTS Run was created by Bang PD becoz of the Jung Kook burgers incident. I'm glad for that as I'm enjoying their BTS Run so much. Well now you know some (not even all the incidents and it continues today with Billboard being so bad to them) of the reasons Army gets so insanely protective of them. Baby JK and Tae crying over his grandma (who raised him, his parents had to leave him with his grandparents because they had to work in another city and were poor, and he was intensely close to both of them but especially his grandma, he’s now bought his parents and siblings a beautiful high end apartment in Seoul) hurts so badly. The whole show they didn’t get told they were dropped from when RM was injured, they had to come out to calm Army down and you can see how pissed they are. RM and JHope getting years of hate for their looks.. both beyond attractive and stunningly beautiful souls gets me full protective mom mode. But now you know. I don’t enjoy rewatching this but I feel the need to be here in solidarity with you. The boys mostly respond to all this by working harder and putting their feelings into their music, ie the rap Cyphers and RM and Suga get very angry in their first solo mixtapes. Now they rise above and Army is karma and we support them more because of this. We work hard to chart them etc. Sadly they are doing some of the same things to BTSs younger brother group TXT who are getting bad treatment on shows etc. even doing such things last month.

I love your videos, The only thing I could say for why there are soooo many hate towards BTS is that their growth is terrifying. They were continuously progressing and making music that is refreshingly genuine. A one of a kind that did not follow the usual kpop flow. It's unfamiliar and the people were just scared, but instead of being excited for this, they throw hate because BTS is actually doing something revolutionary and I guess those people are comforting their pathetic selves by trying to downgrade BTS.

This was because BTS did not belong to the established companies in the industry, the Big 3. No group rose to the top or won awards from outside these 3 companies.
So being underdogs and outsiders, seen as threats to their monopoly they were sidelined by media and industry. The fandoms of these groups attacked BTS and Armys on internet.
RM came out with these memories for the first time during their Army Corner chat in June 2021 Festa celebration. He said the difficult times and hate they received peaked around 2017/18

I know this was hard to watch, even though it was necessary, so thank you. To counteract this video I'd like to suggest watching a video (there are a few "parts", actually. They're only like 10 mins long) called 'Karma is an ARMY' by 'Shookga' It's light hearted and has really good info, and it shows Antis that, well... Karma is an ARMY 😁
    Love you, Lex 💜
