I came here after hearing about Rachel Lillis’s passing, and I know she can’t see my comment, but I just wanna say, thank you so much for everything, and Misty and Jessie and Jigglypuff won’t sound the same without you. Especially Misty.
From this video clip alone. Rachael Lillis made Misty more innocent and cartoony with funny pronunciations (the original and preferred). The others while good, made Misty unnecessarily more sophisticated. I only ever saw the original Pokemon. But it fits the idea that maybe Misty is growing up which doesn't apply in cartoons, at least not in the Simpsons because for +30 years they stayed the same age.
Rachael Lillis has the most emotion and youth in her voice, and she at times is close to Iizuka Michele Knotz starts out okay with the TAJ special, but by BW116 it sounds like Iris and now the voice is too hard to distinguish from May Reba Buhr sounds like Rachael Lillis but slightly older.
I think now is a good time to bring up Rachael Lillis battling breast cancer that has gotten to her spine & made it nigh-impossible for her to walk. A GoFundMe campaign held by her sister Laurie Orr is being held right now. Donating to it would be a good idea. EDIT: Sadly, Rachael Lillis' breast cancer ended up being super effective. Rest in Poké Peace, and thank you for all the memories.
