- Marian Hossa is the 8th Blackhawks player to have their jersey retired by the franchise. Before the ceremony, Hossa addressed the fans and former teammates and thanked them for making his time in Chicago special.

He was the #1 reason they won 2010, 13, 15. PERIOD.
He was great… but cmon man… they had quite a *team* during that stretch. Kane, Crawford, Toews, Sharp, Bickel, Keith… cmon man
@@wentzr three consecutive Stanley Cup Finals with three different teams (5 in his last 10 seasons). He was a leader both on the ice and off. After his illness and retirement, the team dropped to the bottom of the NHL standings. When he came team started winning cups, and when he left chicago, they started losing.
He also has similar stats to Toews (future HOF, his jersey will be retired along with Kane's). Hossa has them a little better. As far as goals are concerned, he comes out better than Kane. Together with Datsyuk, they were among the best two-way players of this century, if not history.
If he stayed in Detroit his stats (him playing with Datsyuk) would have been much much better.
@@wentzr even the players said that they wouldn't have done it without him, Kane was pretty clear about it, he said he was the guy who always steal the puck from enemy team!
@@tenzen1337 kane was being gracious. Dont get me wrong im a huge hossa fan but hockey is simply not a sport that can be won by a single player.
Most Patrick Kane fans wouldn’t say Kane is #1 reason they won it. Kane couldn’t do it without Toews, Hossa, Keith, defense offense and coach. And Hossa wouldn’t say that. Really dumb

Lots of people thought and said that, including me. But after watching him play a few games I knew that wasn’t true. All hawks fans I know didn’t think that once the season got going
