Wonderful and enlightening dialogue that provides insight into so so many aspects of our modern life. Thank you, both. May Allah swt increase you in knowledge, and wisdom, and may he expand your reach. May He grant you the most elevated status among the scholars and teachers.
Interesting and informative, thank you both for this fascinating discussion. From a historical perspective, it is useful to understand that the religious conflict in Europe also had roots in preachers that sought to return to an early church structure as a community, perhaps guided by a Presbyter. This stands in opposition to the Church/state structure in which authority is derived from God to his representative Pope/Monarch. It wasca struggle both religious and political and it is from these roots of the populace trying to take back power from the state that we find the beginnings of secularism in so far as it is in the challenge to the authority of the Pope that revolutionary radicalism begins. This is not to say that certain intellectual utterances would not try to formulate their own world view. Ultimately, secularism has always been based , most especially in left wing politics, in the desire of certain people to reimagine the world in their own image and push the rest of society in the same direction. One way to ensure that you don't share power with a force that can challenge your world view is to remove that power from the playing field while persuading people that this was a selfless act, thar was a true stroke of genius . Secularism was, is and always will be philosophy that denies space to other philosophies while claiming that it is not a philosophy and thus is neutral: the emperor's new clothes anyone!
My name is Ruqayya, please whoever comes across this, i am soliciting your prayers😢 as i’ll be writing my license exams, i pray Allah Arrahman grants me success in this exams. And may Allah Azza Wajallah grants us all our hearts wishes and put barakah in our lives. Ameen.
Great video. Still I wish you could help (maybe in a short) how to succinctly explain to a non-muslim school teacher for example how the viewpoint "from a place of neutrality our society allows people of any religion to freely practice" isn't fair to the Muslim worldview, and indeed what should be the alternative fair viewpoint from a Muslim perspective
The traditions of the Dharma did not rule under the guise of theocracy. Meanwhile Islam forces its will on others. Separation of religion and state is the hallmark of a noble society. Please set up shop in Afghanistan instead of thriving in secular societies.
Imam Tom is a great addition to Yaqeen
Agreed

Secularism is stripping away of Islamic rule because under of Islsmic rule all faiths had the protection, freedom and Right to practice their Faith.
Subhanallah!
