I never cared too much for Kreese in the show other than him being a very interesting plot piece and visually looking amazing as a villain you really believe. But THIS Season 5...I guess I LOVED him. His spotlight truly hit here
I've just realized it's not a contemporary story about a kid that learned how to kick then grew up. It's a morality play, a myth or legend. The Hero's Journey from Joseph Campbell's Power of Myth. The hero strives and stumbles then strives and succeeds. The bad guys are the bad guys. I'm not a fan of the idea of humanizing Kreese, It's like taking off Vaders mask. It might work at the last moment but up until that final flip to the light the bad guy should be the bad guy. G'kar Babylon 5: "We were the good guys, they were the bad guys. And their heads made a very satisfying *THUMP* when they hit the floor."
This guy is awesome! So glad him and all the other "Karate Kid" talent gets to shine! I have also read (and have seen in videos), he's a truly kind person!
Kove is really an awesome guy, wish he was a professor, he’s got a depth of fascinating life experiences and a charisma that would enrapture an audience
Let’s face it, the show is successful just because of the nostalgia. But in all honesty it’s crap, bad plot, terrible kid actors. We only watch it for the original characters
What Martin starts tlaking about around the 6:40 mark is whats missing today....hollywood doesnt take chances anymore...no one knew this movie would be a hit...so thus we dont get them anymore
Speaking of MAVERICK -----James Garner once said in an interview where he hated to get up and be at the studio to film at 4 a.m and work until 9 or 10 in the evening..!
I was banned from all martial arts schools because I kept using the blinding powder technique I learned from watching blood sport and also the biting ankle and ripping hair out of the top of peoples heads technique I learned from the movie the last dragon
YES SENSEI, strike first, strike hard, NO MERCY Sir! I can't imagine any1 else playing Sensei Kreese, you got a problem with that? I won't be a *rick & ruin Cobra Kai's new season but he did it his' way!
Guy looked genuinely scary af in the The Karate Kid, I wouldn't have crossed him w/o a gun. Intense acting, owned the role. The bully Johnny also brilliant...comes across as a arrogant bully but the movie peels some of the layers away and we find he was a nice person caught in a hate fueled web created by Crease who was using him as a proxy for his own misguided anger.
He does villains so well, but in real life, he's the nicest guy.
I was just thinking that - seems like a down to earth guy - the commercial he did - Kuala Kai is a riot
Most movie Villains are Great guys
I don't buy it. Of course he is gonna be nice to the beautiful people but underneath it's bitterness
@@threatassessment606 I don’t buy that - I think character actors like him are usually down to earth and humble - its the divas that are nuts
He really is!
Martin Kove is a true gem. Could listen to him tell stories all day.
What an awesome guy and nobody else could have played the role like him in Karate Kid.
Im just all smiles…..talking about Connery, Garner, and Bronson 😁
The show has to throw Chuck Norris in there too lol

@@user-wm3bf7pi3uNah just enjoy the show.
Martin Kove. First class actor. Thank you sir!
It must be amazing to be a massive part of one of the most beloved movies of all time.
Immortality.
WAIT....... he wasn't in "Biggles Adventures Through Time" was he?
This guy is awesome! So glad him and all the other "Karate Kid" talent gets to shine! I have also read (and have seen in videos), he's a truly kind person!
he's right about the script, "wax on wax off" is a legendry line
He was great in the film. A real part of my childhood. I'm glad they continued to have success from it. And he is correct it's well written.
Well said I hope this guys lives to see 100. (or more) He deserves a prequel series.
wow this guy has rubbed some elbows with some of the most iconic actors in history.. legend
The tribe
Love his work in Karate Kid, Cobra Kai and other stuff. Good dude and great actor. Excellent actor.
He's absolutely right, the ending of the Karate Kid was genius. Brilliant staging, build-up, music, editing...everybody got chills.
Bronson´s favorite show was "Cagney&Lacey", hilarious.
He‘s such a good actor.
"LOOK EYE DANIELSAN! Always look eye."
Kove was amazing in Rambo II, playing despicable Erikson, such a memorable performance. Really had hoped he would have had a role in Rambo 4 or 5.
Toshiro Mifune would have been epic. Amazing actor.
So well spoken. He was good in cagney lacy also.
Thank you Martin Kove...
Now i have to find and watch a few episodes of Cagney & Lacey
He was great as a regular cop.
Martin is great down to earth. You know he is telling the truth as all the tidbits are verifiable to the detail. Nice silk shirt Martin!
The guy is fantastic. I enjoy every part he plays out.
I really hope we see more Martin Kove after Cobra Kai. Great actor, great human being.
He is so awesome. Great Actor!
Kove is really an awesome guy, wish he was a professor, he’s got a depth of fascinating life experiences and a charisma that would enrapture an audience
I always that he said sweep the lick, like kick the wound. What a great interview.
What?
@@marcd1981 the line in the first Karate Kid, when he says sweep the leg.
@@dalespencer8694 Thanks, I figured that was what you tried to type 😅
@@marcd1981 Actually no. I really thought he said sweep the lick (as in wounded leg)
@@dalespencer8694 Oh, okay, now I understand what you were saying, thanks.
I've been a fan of his since the 70s. I wish he'd talked about Death Race 2000.
Lol love that.
What an interesting interview!!
I agree with Martin, the writing in Karate Kid was special
Why is Cobra Kai so addicting!
Because of nostalgia and cheese
He’s a good actor but Cobra Kai has turned into a bad soap opera. Some of the kids and supporting actors are are pretty bad.
@@ryanmatthew511 I agree. The whole "will they, won't they" game with Sam, Miguel, Tory, and Robby has gotten really stale.
@@ryanmatthew511 Not really

I like him, seems like an objective, intelligent, and humble guy
These are all great but this is def one of the best💎💎💎
Great guy, so many great stories.
Rich you gotta get Billy Zabka on before Cobra Kai's next round of episodes!
You're the best..around! Nothin's ever gonna keep you down!"
Love that guy
John Glover would have been interesting as Kreese...but Martin Kove nailed it.
What a life!
What Martin starts tlaking about around the 6:40 mark is whats missing today....hollywood doesnt take chances anymore...no one knew this movie would be a hit...so thus we dont get them anymore
The first thing I remember seeing martin kove act in was the incredible hulk as a boxer/car mechanic.
What a brilliant interview!
Always knew this guy was a goddamn teddy bear in real life! Wish Martin could've been my gumpa growing up.
He’s absolutely right about the writing
That scene at the end of season 5 hits different
Kurt Russell would've been a good fit for that role also.
Play it again, Sam....even Martin Kove is struck by the Mandela effect:-)
Playing commado in renbo 2 mouvie
I guess I've never heard Martin Kove speak naturally. I've never seen him with a New York accent until just now.
Martin needs to bring a wheelbarrow with him so he can pick up all the names he drops.
Good video interview
I loved hard time planet earth.
Speaking of MAVERICK -----James Garner once said in an interview where he hated to get up and be at the studio to film at 4 a.m and work until 9 or 10 in the evening..!
This dude is one of the cool 😎 actors.
It is hard to reconcile such an evil villain and a nice guy.
Very underrated actor & diverse. always will be remembered best as Sensei Kriese on KK & CK
So weird, villians are the very nice guys in real life
Odd thing with the Karate Kid title is that they had to get DC comics permission to use the name since they had a character called Karate Kid.
I’m so glad they went with Kove over Norris.
Martin Kove successeur de Bruce Lee 💯💯🏆🏆💯💯🏆🏆💯🏆💯🏆👍🏆👍🏆👍🏆👍🏆👍👍🏆👍🏆⚜️🏆💯👍💪🌟❤️💝💘💝💘💝💘💝❤️💝💝💖❤️💘

Leonard Nemoy for John Kreese ???
Just imagine, we could have had the Vulcan leg sweep, Vulcan death punch, live long and show no mercy, showing mercy is not logical
He seems like a nice but even off set he looks fkn mean and evil.
Is villain for cobrai kai is playing the maivelique seinse creed
Martin Kove is still sexy af 🔥😍
Martin kove is sean connery fan and smart but is gad secret from im life and young by bulling
