Same question, how much paint does one actually need to remove? My window sills look identical to your windows :-) OK to leave some paint around removed paint that is still stuck to the wood?

How much paint do you generally want to remove in a situation like this? Some of it just won't chip away. Would it be okay to paint over that?

after scraping, what is your recommendation for applying new primer paint in late September in Ontario Canada. We've been at 24c. but were going downy to 20c for a week.
