Your tips are right on! I always hear fashion influencers stress the importance of pointy toe shoes; however, you clarify this by making people aware that too pointy actually makes feet look unnaturally longer. I completely agree! Not only that, but they are incredibly uncomfortable! Most of my shoes are actually almond shaped toe with a few others being pointed toe. Pointed toe definitely flatters my foot more, but almond toe is much more comfortable for extended periods of walking or standing. Shoes are my greatest challenge as finding stylish size 5 shoes is very difficult…. especially comfortable ones. I also follow the coat rule, to a degree. I love crop jackets and maxi coats, but will wear thigh length with only selected outfits such as mini dresses or skinny jeans/pants and heels. When you are only 4’9” and almost 70, fashion presents many challenges! I love fashion and style and spend hours “playing” with my clothes to create new and unique ways to wear items. I hate dressing frumpy and will always put conscious effort into what I wear whether it be to go to an event, run errands, work on gardening, or just hang around the house. Clothes definitely impact my mood and attitude and how I present myself. If I am feeling a bit down, I find by putting on a cool or stylish outfit, such as a maxi or mini ribbed dress, my Doc Marten’s, and a long blazer will certainly kick up my mood a notch! I rarely follow fashion rules, however, your recommendations definitely have merit!

I agree: Incontrast to what others say about ankle strap shoes I do like them, they fit me being petite and don't shorten my legs - same for overknees.

Great tips. I have a similar body type, 5’1, long torso and short legs. I’m also slightly pear shaped so I’m always looking for ways to make my look longer. I try to stick with slim straight jeans to make my legs look longer. So glad you did this video!

I think the ankle strap shoes actually look amazing and so stylish on you with the mini dress, although the others look nice too. However, on me ankle strap shoes just don't work and really cut my legs off. So generally, they may not work on some petite girls, but they work on you for sure!

Hello! May I know the measurements when you say you have a long or short torso? I am 5'1"" and have difficulty when buying jeans. High rise jeans don't look nice on me so I opt for mid rise. Thank you.

Long outerwear. Is it best to avoid below the knee/ calf area also. At the knee or below the calf for longer outerwear is best also?
I personally think it still looks good because you’re still covering 2/3 of your body so there’s still enough of a vertical line. And you likely have pants or skirt/dress underneath too with a high rise fit so I think it still looks amazing! I have outerwear that length and I love them! I personally avoid outerwear where the length of it stops half way on my body! So I either wear cropped, or long which is knee length and longer!
