I knew you would do a wheelie first thing.....just didn't know it would be with your back tires! Congrats again on your first tractor! Tractor Hard! 🚜💪!!
Great video young man!! Happy Anniversary to you n your little Bride!! My little Bride n I have been married three months shy of 52 year's. Your TYM did better than my 2515 Branson did never could get enough Ballast to get near the 2200 pound capacity. Your's is impressive for sure it's perfect if you're happy that's all that matters. You definitely needed the lifting capacity. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun
Lucas. Your new tractor really impressed me with the super heavy log that you picked up. Your TYM tractor is just was needed to run your mill and farm. Early Christmas gift for your family. Love you videos and keep them coming.
Enjoying the TYM content! Hope you share lots more of your experiences with it as time goes on. I’m also in KY and looking at buying a TYM to work along side my Deere. Also any tractor I’ve ever had the loader weighted pretty heavily on can get pretty jerky
Bigger tractor lifts more. Yay. LOL I'm happy you are satisfied with your tractor, and happy anniversary. Your small Kubota will still get used regularly I'm sure.
Yeah, filled tires and you'll be off to the races. Thought about filling the bx's tires, but it's not really "tough" enough to need it - that shiny new machine ya' got there, you'll *definitely benefit. Grats on your anniversary!
On the smoothness of the loader functions, I have heard so many people complain. I have not had that issue on my TYM T474. I can finesse any and all functions. I truly believe the ones complaining are the ones that are jerking the controller and not being smooth with it at all. Yes sir, I can make mine jerk like crazy if I want. The power is definitely there. But I also know my machine and operate it accordingly. Thanks for the video my friend. Oh and thanks for MechMaxx discount code. I saved $95 when I ordered my MechMaxx PTO stump grinder yesterday. Tractor on buddy.
PLEASE HOLD OFF ON MILLING THE WHITE OAK!!!! You have a GREAT opportunity to show the before and after filling the tires with weight! Then mill it, and I’ll watch that too lol I think you made a much better choice with the 4820 over the 2515, can’t wait for your up coming videos
Nice video! I got 1540 pounds of RimGuard in the rears of my 3515ch and when I’m lifting a lot of logs and brush I usually have a 1P24 Baumalight grinder on back, but that’s only 350 pounds plus 110 pounds for the quick hitch and PTO shaft. I can still lift enough weight to start to get my back end coming up. I was irritated this morning because I got some hitch hangers and weights to hang off the quick hitch in this set up and turns out the hangers won’t fit with the stump grinder on. I think with your tires filled and the box blade you’ll be good for most logs you’ll encounter, and usually those box blades have spots you can hang weights if you want. At that point though, you’re lifting enough weight to hurt something. Just my approach with it. Loving the footage, captures my recent experience since I was used to my 1025r. Thanks!
You nailed it when it comes to operating the hydraulics. As you lift heavier object or the higher you lift, it will feel a little jerky at times. Thats because you got alot of weight in the air. Slow and steady on the controls is the way to go. Another tip is to keep your rear ballast as low as you can, the lower it is the better.
Congrats on 25 years. Lift capacity will certainly improve with proper ballast. My main concern is the front axle and steering components. I hope they are built for it. Take care of that thing cause I don't think KTAC will cover this one lol
Haha. That’s true, but I do have insurance on it. Just not KTAC. As far as being built for it, these things are built solid and rated for 2700lb which I don’t think I really surpassed in this video. That log with forks would be close. I definitely have to get the ballast situation sorted out before doing much of that!
I have the IC 60 inch compact tractor grapple rake. I haven't tried it out yet but I think it's a perfect match for my 35 HP Tractor. I have a few projects planned for it. 😊
I have my tires filled, wheel weights, and I filled a 55 gallon drum with concrete. She stays on the ground now for sure. I think the drum is around 1,000 for just that. Easy to make, and if you make one I think it would be a great video.
Well you said it right out of the gate that you was going to find that tractors limit. Lol. With that tractor you can put shelving in that pole barn. Maybe put the BX up there.
I got my first ever tractor about a month and half ago. I've used my pallet forks far more often than anything else so far and it's really nice being able to lift and move so many things. Once spring arrives I'm sure I'll be using the ditch bank flail mower more, but will still get plenty of use out of the forks. Any thoughts on getting a grapple for your TYM? 🚜
Happy 25th Anniversary to You and your Wife. For the 1st time I noted the tiiiiiight clearance between the rear tire and the fenders on a 4820? Maybe not of concern as you're not in the snowbelt and would need chains on?
Lucas: can you put your other forks on the back of the new machine? If you can then all you would need is the weight. It will be interesting watching what you are going to do. PS: don't forget the BX in some of the videos.
Since there is no ballast in the rear tires, try lowering the box blade lower to the ground for extra help as well. Lower center of gravity. Good looking tractor. Workhorse for sure.
You got the right size machine. The 2515 is capable, but with respect to machine stability, the smaller and lighter machine would struggle more with lifting the weight, even with ballast.
After you get the rear remotes installed you will need to get a hydraulic top link. It will improve your abilities to use your box scraper more efficiently
Nice! You’ve taken it to the next level! Ballast is definitely your best friend. Just curious. Does Station 23 not offer Rim Guard at the time of purchase?
They do have an option available. To be honest, I have a company that is wanting to sponsor the ballast and I’m working on that agreement so I did not have Station 23 fill them. 😬
I know this has been mentioned but I would be extremely careful with the pallet forks. They are not high enough in the back. A log could roll right back on you. It could happen easier than what you think. I hope you address this issue soon.
A rack won’t solve that issue if you’re raising it up and not keeping level. I almost watched that very thing happen to my dad when I was about 10. As the log started to roll over the edge he caught it and dropped the arms just in time to keep it from roll back into him. I’ve never forgot that… I do have a set with a rack that I will be sharing soon! Thanks for the comment! 👊
most of the older tire skid steers couldnt lift the log up the rimguard or even washer fluid in the back tires would help with stability i was always told to go one size bigger on tractor than you figure on needing and i think that size tym is about right for most things i had a john deere 2550 mid 80s model 70 some hp engine and about 10000 pounds wheel weights on both sides of the rear rims plus filled tires so you need that soon as you can
Your tires should have been filled up at the dealership prior to you taking delivery? My Bobcat dealership did that for me along with a 3rd function valve .
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead I do believe you are correct! A backhoe would look might fine on the back of that machine ....... for the price of beat juice you are 1/7th of the way there! hahaha...good work again
I don't know if any of the other 86 people who have commented on this yet Lucas, but at some point, now that you've got a larger tractor with some legitimate lifting capacity, you may want to go on marketplace or somewhere and buy a legitimate set of pallet forks that has a brick guard on the back. You'll thank me later, because if you keep using that set that you're using in this video you will be disappointed when at some point in the future, you or your son are moving something with the tractor, and a piece of firewood or whatever will fall backwards off of the forks and land right on the hood of your tractor. Don't ask me how I know. 🙂
@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead In case you haven't ordered them yet, I would also recommend that you get a pair that are rated to lift your tractor's lifting capacity with just one fork vs. the pair, if that makes sense. Meaning, my tractor will lift 3,400lbs to full height (according to specs), and I often lift things with straps or chains, like snow plows etc....Well, my salesman explained the reasoning for what I'm now repeating to you, you'll want to be able to lift a lot of weight with just one fork at times, and if you don't get a set that's rated heavily enough, you stand a chance of bending just that one fork, and if that happens, you'll never get them right again. I hope I've explained that clearly enough. Best of luck again with the new machine!
