Griffin Colapinto's 2015 "Off Script" Edit | The Surfing Magazine Archive

Back in the winter of 2014-15 Griffin Colapinto was barely 15 years old, yet he was already wrapping up his surf career as an amateur and becoming a pro. He spent that winter traveling up and down the Pacific seaboard, chasing swells everywhere from Santa Cruz to San Clemente Pier with filmmaker Jacob Vanderwork-which resulted in the film seen here. It was also a significant winter for Colapinto because a photo of him taken by XX would become his first cover ever: Surfing Magazine’s June 2015 issue.
