Thank you Dave:) I have major depression since more than two years. From laying in bed that whole time I lost all my muscles. A lot of the times I tried at home workouts. I couldn’t even finish the videos for beginners and after every video I felt even worse. Your video was the first I could finish in two years and I don’t know when I felt happier than now. Your way to talk is so motivating :) thank you so much
I've been struggling to find an ab video easy enough for me to start with till I found this video! Thank you so much for guiding us through it Dave! Gonna keep watching this vid till I can progress. Glad to find a coach on RUclips who GETS beginners!
Hey nice to hear from you. I totally get it. I owned a gym for 7 years and trained many clients that were just getting started. It’s exciting and can be overwhelming. The key is to go slow and build up over time. It can be a lot of fun and very rewarding! Any questions let me know. Hope some of the other workouts can help you get started as well!
Finally! I'm usually struggling through the majority of "beginner" ab workouts but this was actually something I could make it through! I have almost zero muscle and this was a struggle, but not an impossible task. Really helped me want to keep going with my work outs. Thanks Dave.
This is so great, I've been going through a lot of videos but most of the workouts are literally too hard for me right now. I'm obese and extremely out of shape and turning my life around so I need something dead simple just to get me started. These exercises were really hard, but doable, and ultimately that sounds about perfect for right now! Thank you so much for this video
Hey Dave, I really appreciate your language and calmness in your videos. It's nice to find some videos that aren't super Bro-ed out. Mahalo! I will certainly subscribe!
Hey, no problem! I guess that comes with owning a gym and training people for almost a decade. I’m far from being a bro-ed out! Glad you subscribed, more vids coming!
This is an amazing video for beginner-beginners because he explains how to do it and how the sensation should feel instead of: 'ok everyone now we can do this random excersize' - because of this i can feel a light burn which i dont get from any other 'beginner' videos.
Guys! If you are an absolute beginner, then this is literally the best video to follow. I have searched for so many beginner friendly videos on youtube. But this video is the best one to begin with. And you will see results within a few weeks (if you are lean in the midsection ofc)
Amazing. So positive and you explain things so clearly. I often forget to squeeze my glutes during a plank. And using the example a of a string pulling the heart up during the crunch is a great way to remind people not to use their neck. And for beginners, these are common mistakes. Thanks Dave.
Doing all sorts of ab movements from other videos and I always sucked so hard on them. I knew I was a beginner when it came to my abs, but it wasn't until I tried this video that I knew I was an Absolute beginner with abs haha. Thank you, will focus on this until my core is stronger before moving on to other movements.
Hey Dave! I know this video is five years old, but just wanted to let you know here in 2022 that it is still helping people. I started eating healthier this year and have dropped 50 lbs. I'm shooting for 40 more, and I'm starting to notice a bit of skin sag so I need to start incorporating some muscle regimen - so THANK YOU! I'll be back for more when I move on to next levels. You rock!
It’s nice to find some realistically possible exercises. I used to be able to exercise for hours each day but chronic illness took that away. So many exercises are high intensity ones and those would literally leave me on bed rest. It’s nice to see that some people remember not every body works on the same level
The very first abs workout I managed to accomplish form start tot finish in years ;-) and that feels very rewarding for a 52 year old, not very fit working mom from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Thank you Dave!
Thanks! This is a great workout for absolute beginners, I used to be fitter but now this video is the perfect difficulty level for me! The most important thing is that I don't feel discouraged - many "beginner videos" are too hard for me to do and I stop halfway, feeling like I will never get fit again. But this one feels like a healthy starting point before getting to more difficult workouts. So thank you again, I'm excited to build abs that will let me get out of bed without having to swing my whole body hahaha
When I began to use this video, I felt as weak as a kitten but now I'm beginning to feel stronger & more confident with working out. I think I might be ready for a slightly bigger challenge! Thank you so much!! 👌💪🙋♀️
Thank you! I’m 21 years old and only just now getting into fitness. I have no upper body strength to speak of and have been doing this workout multiple times a week starting from mid last October and on Nov. 3rd I can already feel a difference, I no longer have to use my arms to get up from a laying down position, I can use my abs! I’ve noticed a decrease in my love handles, too. It was so hard for me to find a workout routine made for *TRUE* beginners and this is the only one that was a good enough mix of challenging and approachable for me to do. Looking forward to getting to the point that this workout doesn’t make me a sweaty hyperventilating mess and I can move onto the next level, lol.
Great workout Dave. A little harder than I expected which was great. Just showed how much out of shape I am right now. I was a regular gym goer up to about 4 years ago and sat at around 132lbs but have shot up to around 175lbs due to lack of exercise and bad diet but I am determined to get back into shape and this was a perfect reintroduction.
I just bought a medicine ball and found your videos. I’m so glad I did. You explain it very simple and encourage the viewer to do these exercises. I’m looking forward to watching your other videos once I graduate to the next level,. For now, I remain a beginner.
Depends on how fit you are currently. Without me knowing I’d give myself at least a day in between videos. In some case, 2 days. See how your body feels.
Very cool video. Just getting back into fitness BC if you don't use it ,you will lose it ! Thank you. Also can you include some good lower back stretches for before & after ? I know the core is most important !
Planks are only doable on knees, can't even lift my legs for the crunches, same for the leg raise hold, must rest on each move for the fourth one, each knee raise takes five seconds minimum... I'm pretty sure that my abs are atrophied.
Just a heads up, it will take more than this 8 minute ab workout to get a six pack. It will require a calorie deficit for a sustained period of time along with a good amount of fitness (depending on how much body fat one has). A good start would be doing some of the beginner workouts on the channel and building up your fitness from there. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you Dave:)

This is one of the best beginner videos on RUclips! Can you make a playlist of beginner videos?!

This was made 6 years ago and it's still really great!
This looks like the only "beginner" ab routine that I could actually do. Very realistic, going to try it out now!
addings this workout after my run was amazing, been doing this every day for 2 weeks now and I’ve never felt more ready to conquer the day
🎉 definitely what I needed
Good deal. I’ll film a few more here in the near future! Keep it up!

Thank you for an absolutely beginning ab workout. After having 2 kids I definitely need something easy to build up with. Awesome video
That been awesome
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks Dave. Your instruction is excellent and positive.Well-paced classes. Lots of fun!
Thank you so much Best Ab workout for Beginners! Love the upbeat inspiration as well!!!
Thankyou this video really helped me how long do you recommend doing these before moving on to a new exercise
If you are a true beginner do this for a month. Build up the strength and endurance then move on to others.
Yeaaah i felt my and burn, thanks for sharing
How often per week would you suggest to do this video. Thanks 😊
Depends on how fit you are currently. Without me knowing I’d give myself at least a day in between videos. In some case, 2 days. See how your body feels.
THANK YOU!
Great i started today! I will update u with results thank u, the only issue is that my neck hurts when I touch my ankle ,how can i do it better?
I mastered all of these and started to see little tiny abs, now it is time to move to the next level
Very cool video. Just getting back into fitness BC if you don't use it ,you will lose it ! Thank you. Also can you include some good lower back stretches for before & after ? I know the core is most important !
Awesome
😊 absolutely love this video and so glad a found it in 2023. It's a keeper😂
Does it matter where your hands are on the elevated crunch?
No. Wherever you feel most comfortable
thank you
Do you have exercise to get rid of love handles
Nothing makes me believe in myself more than when someone else says , that they believe in me ...0:27
You got it! Keep it up!
Thx dood
No problem man! Hope you enjoy.
I can't do the Elevated Crunch one Rep, even though I was exhausted for contracting my abs ;/
But the other workouts are useful!
Or its bad if my neck feels weird while doing it?
I was able to complete this super easy but for some reason I didn’t feel like my abs were doing anything was I doing something wrong
Bro farts in 0:35 sec 😅😅
Just check
Planks are only doable on knees, can't even lift my legs for the crunches, same for the leg raise hold, must rest on each move for the fourth one, each knee raise takes five seconds minimum... I'm pretty sure that my abs are atrophied.
Is this just for 8 mins a day?
You can do it like twice or thrice a day
Can someone in the comments actually approve that they were fat and now have abs

Dave Dreas I’m really over thin I want to get abs so I don’t be thin but I barley have any body fat
I can’t plank tho😭
how long till abs appear?
All depends how much body fat you have.
I'll do this exercise for the next 10 days.
Day 1: ✅
what about day 2??
