"The man with the rifle shoots! The man without the rifle follows! If the man with the rifle is killed, the man without the rifle picks up the rifle and shoots!"
Before Viktor Reznov, before Dimitri Petrenko, the great Russian heroes Yuri Petrenko and Alexei Ivanovich Voronin were my center of how COD portrayed a badass Soviet soldier. The theme at 5:53 is by far the best portrayal in music of the USSR imo.
Crazy thing is not a lot of people played cod when the first original 3 was out everyone played mw and black ops the first three are the most legendary the start of one of the best franchises
I'm 3 months late but the tune is called "Ebenezer" (also known as "Ton-y-Botel"), and it's the basic tune of many Christian hymns. Worth looking up all the different variations if you also love the melody like I do :)
Don't know why my dad would let a 5 year old play a very grusome game, this campaign was my favourite because of the theme and how thristy the Russians were for vengeance
in the cod of 2003 , I played the story , and was quite cool. .than, I reached the russian missions. Unforgottable , with it's ww2 theme, and frustrated sad music. I would like to be Russian, the get the feeling of these hystorical dramatic time.
The absolute dread and hopelessness they must have felt when the Wehrmacht wouldn't slow down, then vice versa when the Germans actually started loosing and the Red Army was on a rush towards Berlin. The Eastern front was epic.
it was largely based on enemy at the gates and therefore very innaccurate, but the story the older CoDs told was still incredible and highlighted the ultimate sacrifice and the humanitarian tragedy of the war, whereas modern CoDs are just braindead nonsense, whilst the multiplayer is just a dick measuring contest, i've lost interest entirely but would still love to see a REAL nod to the past where there is a long singleplayer campaign as a grunt, watching world events unfold before you and feeling like a helpless spectator from time to time, rather than some bulletproof rambo!
I get your point, but it's not that is innacurate, it just doesn't represent the Red Army for all the stages of the war. What is wrong is thinking that this was the only way the Red Army won their battles, throwing men left and right, but it indeed was much closer to the case in the initial stages of the war, and also at the later stages in the "auxiliary" armies. But indeed the main army got progressively more professional, well sourced and well supported, and ended up being a real mighty machine. But the initial blunders were absolutely bloody, since Stalin's purges had depleted them from competent command and they had to learn with sweat and blood.
"Comrades! This day will be the proudest day you have ever lived! You will fight the fascist Nazi invaders with all your strength! For each and every fallen Soviet soldier, you will make them pay with ten of theirs! There will be no mercy for defeatists, cowards or traitors! Anyone caught deserting his post will be shot! Remember great Comrade Stalin's order - not one step backwards! You will be well equipped for the battles that lie ahead. You will have food, water, weapons, and plenty of ammunition! What do you suppose the Germans have? Nothing! Their supply lines are stretched too thin! Their dash to the Volga has left them without the means to bring us a proper fight! With our superior strength in numbers, and our boundless courage, victory is ours! We shall stop the fascist invaders there - at Stalingrad!"

I get the feeling Yuri and Dimitri are somehow related
@@LordVader1094 yeah strange
Dimitri and Yuri are Ukrainian?????!!!!!11111 😳😳😳😳 (their family name have suffix -enko which is very distinctively Ukrainian)
@@arkenssskk and Lev Kravchenko. Not necessarily Ukrainian since he was born in Petrograd, but might have ukrainian ancestry
I love this theme however I would have to argue that the made up Soviet anthem for Red Alert 3 is a better portrayal of USSR music in games.
The Red square theme sends chills down my spine, I remember first playing this game..Is was quite sad.
yup.I was 4
Best theme music ever...
