The Calif. Zephyr in Ft. Morgan on 10FEB2025

This California Zephyr #5 arrived in Fort Morgan at 0559 MST (15 min. late due to freight traffic on the single line main just east of here). P42s #202 & #53 led the 9-car train to its first stop with car 2 at the station ramp for 2 new fares. Then the train was moved ahead 5 cars to the second stop with car 7 to the parking area platform for 1 detraining passenger. A visit from Mr. Darrell also happened as he stepped from the sightseer/lounge car with some coffee for the videographer and a quick chat to the viewers and Kenny. My many thanks for the coffee, Darrell! It is always appreciated. With the station work safely completed, the high ball was given and on a clear signal the Zephyr continued its westward run with the next stop being Union Station in Denver.
The ninth car was the Federal Railroad Administration track geometry car with the laser inspection beam working just ahead of the trailing truck.
My thanks to the operating crew for the waves and greetings and the train staff member working car 2 this morning.
