For once I’m at a loss for words. One thing is for sure though and that is this song has certainly changed my mood towards Eminem from not sure how to feel to respect for him not that I didn’t respect him but I have more respect for him. He sure does tell a story with his songs and music videos. This one was definitely different for you and I loved it.
Eminem cares about a lot of things. He was against guns for most of his life - he lost a close friend in his youth to gun violence. He started out at the bottom at a homeless shelter, rap battling in the basement to get his music out there. He still goes there today to rap-battle and support the shelter and the people who come in there. His music is his imagination as well as self-therapy. What many do not know is just how fucked up his life has been and that it made him who he is today. He never forgets where he came from ... www.looktothestars.org/celebrity/eminem
@@MatthewRunaway apparently, while his 3 (2 adopted) daughters were growing up there was NO CUSSING in the house. He saved that for his music. He's an awesome father too. I don't know him personally, but there are a lot of interviews and documentaries out there about Em.

i love your videos because they are all authentic reactions. you can really see that your trying to adjust to understand eminems music the best you can and for someone who is country you do catch quite a bit of the things he is saying
Great reaction buddy, I watched the original as soon as it came out. I think he talked about his insecurities as rapper along with the shooting in those double entendres like code 45, popping any caps, reaching for the scope, there are so many. There some other videos like this by Marshall; "When I'm Gone", " Lose Yourself", "Beautiful", " Love the way I love", "Bully", "Stan", "Cleanin' Out My Closet", "Role Model". Try to listen to these if you have some time.
I've started to learn more about the song the more I listen to it! I've been saying to people when your new to Eminem you really have to listen 7 to 10 times before you really get how good he is and the message he's pushing.
I enjoyed this a lot. I've seen quite a few reactions so far but most reactors are usually already into the hip hop genre so it's really interesting how people with a different 'ear' see the same songs. I'll go check out your reaction to Godzilla especially because of the different focus and from what I gathered, it was the first Eminem song you reacted to? I especially loved that you picked up on the sample in the background (Sound of Silence) at such a random moment when to me, it had been blatantly been hitting me all along because of the "Hello darkness my old friend"-singing in the background. But you, as a singer (great voice, btw!), picked the piano and the melody, which I HADN'T heard until then, not clearly. Thank you for that!
The 1st time I herd this song it spun me out... so much different to what usually comes from Em but as per usual it’s a touchy subject but not one we have to face down under... love to see you go way way back and do an old Eminem song like “guilty conscience”
When Em walks towards the stage at the end and what is being said is “this is what the shooter looks like”. Like it could be any one of us who just snaps and goes crazy.
Actually found your channel after the Godzilla reaction. The RUclips algorithm just pushed it apparently but I’ve been ADDICTED to your reactions they just seem genuine. Love what you’re doing and I can’t wait to see where you go from here!
I am a huge Em fan. The first time i saw this video video it was hard to watch. Very powerful and emotional. The coolest part is the fact the song is a double entendre relating the shooters point of view to Em's point of view before going on stage at a show. The amount of double and triple entendres used throughout "Music To Be Murdered By" is insane. The album is some of his best work. If you haven't already i erupts recommend reacting to "No Regrets" ft Don Toliver. Toliver has a great chorus and as usual Em spits fire. It is nice to see an artist of another genre react to hip-hop.
@@MatthewRunaway hmmm there is so many lol syllables from him makes fun of thr other rappers that mumbles and have hard time putting sentences together also dad gone crazy em had his daughter at the time she was like 5 do sounds in the mic fir thr song lol .
Great reaction. I love watching reaction who listen to songs that may not be their genre. Like ppl who like country music listening hip-hop. Hip hop heads listen to country, metal and rock. I love all genres of music. I think it is a great way to bridge gaps between cultures. I have been listening to Em since he came out and I love watching how he has grow and a man and a musician. He is a genius. I love that he takes a stand even if it is not the most popular stand. You should react to Never Love Again by Em it is off the Music to be Murdered by. It is probably one of his best songs he has ever written. I truly believe that if you like country you should like hip hop and vice versa because the best artists in both tell the best stories and invoke real feelings. Em is one of the few that can motivate, make me laugh and cry in the same album. Castle and Arose from his revival album and Arose makes me cry almost every time. But if you react to them you have to do them together.
I'm not going to lie when I did the first video i was like this is going to suck but them Eminem changed everything! Then people said check out NF and I was hooked!
Matthew Runaway NF is great too. You know Em has three personalities when he raps. There is Slim Shady, Eminem and Marshall Mathers. Slim Shady is the one who says what every he wants like Kill You or Kim. Eminem is the MC like Rap God and Godzilla. Marshall Mathers is this one who will get your feelings like Darkness and Arose. NF is like Marshall Mathers. Logic is like Eminem
@@str8crownroyal650 I've heard all the names before but i had no idea thats what he did with them! OH Who's Logic? That's a new name that's never popped up before!
Matthew Runaway logic is one of his “sons”. Em has inspired the new generation of lyrical rappers. NF, Logic, Hopson and Joyner Lucas are all considered his “sons”.
Go back and listen to the song again. He is talking about all of these shootings and that is the main idea of the song, but he is also drawing parallels between these shooters and himself not only dealing with the darkness and isolation of fame, but with all that he went through growing up and how he could have been one of them if he didn’t find music as his outlet.
EMINEM has always been very content heavy like Royce Da 5’9, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Hopsin, Macklemore, Logic, and Joyner Lucas. Even their goofier songs have so many layers to it and even as someone who grew up listening to most of these guys and am so used to picking these things out I still catch stuff the 30th or 40th time I listen to it. Like this song right after he says “That’s a lot of shots” he says “double entendres” and it wasn’t even until a few months after first hearing it that I caught that bit or in Walk On Water he is talking about how difficult it can be to keep things going and to reach the same momentum of that first hit and in the back during the chorus you can hear him scribbling away on a sheet of paper cursing and crumpling it up because it wasn’t good enough. He also puts these little double meaning lines in everywhere connected by words that sound the same or have two meanings and he will get both meanings dead on or he will take one word or phrase and bend the pronunciation just enough that you know what he is saying, but it also sounds like another word or phrase that goes into the next line.
God! I’d kill to be inside his head for a day just to feel what’s it’s like to think like that! To actually be the person to write that! A lot of people have brought up logic! I think I’m going to give him a few reaction videos!
Logic was beefing with Joyner Lucas for the longest time, but they put that aside and did a track together called Isis. He also did a track with EMINEM called Homicide and he did a song called 1-800-273-8255 which is the number for suicide prevention and the whole video is about gay teens being forced to come out of the closet and contemplating suicide, but they find another way and end up succeeding in life with a nice heartfelt ending. Off topic, but definitely checkout Imaginary Places by Busdriver. The guy is crazy fast and rides the beat really well and makes a lot of really strange instrumental choices that really happen to work out like with Imaginary Places it has a really heavy persistent pan flute as the main instrument with the drums way down which is uncommon in the genre.
This album, Music to be Murdered By, gave me musical whiplash. Godzilla plays righ before this song. And all of those news clips are on the album so it was quite the shock my first listen through.
Matt cheers for reacting to Darkness it make a powerful postive statement that's for sure which is why Eminem is one of the greatest rapper, artist and songwriters of all time. ou should react to Till I Collapse from Eminem great song, then react to Stan When I'm Gone is also a good Eminem song great video react to that one you will like it.
Tim Hix youtube channel did a review on this song and they pick up on all the small details, you should definitely go back through the song theres just so much going on
When this video came out there wasn't any warning , so you couldn't tell it was a double entedere but the shooting affected lots of people so they have to put a warning before the video and took it of the trending page.
If you want to get to know the lyrical side of hip hop, I’ll give you a few names to add to Eminem and NF and a possible starting song for each. Token - Code Red, Hopsin- Ill Mind of Hopsin 5, Joyner Lucas - I’m Not Racist, Royce Da 5’9” - Cocaine, also Caterpillar featuring Eminem, Kendrick Lamar- Humble, Lupe Fiasco - Bitch Bad, Chris Webby - Raw Thoughts, J Cole - Middle Child, Yelawolf- Pop the Trunk, Tech N9ne- Like I Ain’t. Then if you want to be introduced to the mix of genres called hick hop or country rap, a good starting song would be Country by Adam Calhoun featuring Upchurch and Demun Jones. Sorry if this list is overwhelming.
it still makes me mad every time I see somebody react to this video with the warning that they put literally ruins the suspense of the whole experience!
I'm in a similar boat to you as far as being a fan of rap and such. It wasn't until the last few years that I started getting into it. I highly recommend checking out some Joyner Lucas and Logic. They both have ft's with Em as well. Also, honorable mention, Popular Monster by Falling In Reverse.
Matthew Runaway Yeah, I think it’s a very interesting song, it’s his perspective on how his word effect other people, but Eminem has so many great songs. It’s hard to choose lol. It depends on if you want serious, funny, angry or story telling. Have you heard the song Stan from him before?
Good video. Eminem is a GOAT and so are you. I’m not a fan of country music personally but you have a good personality. You should react to Speedom featuring Eminem and also Majesty which features Nicki M.... Sorry don’t know how to spell her last name
If you listen closely the whole song is a double meaning. Em also struggled with substance abuse and almost lost his life to it... And his own insecurities as an artist. Also one of his closest friends was a victim of gun violence. which led him into a depression that almost killed him.....
Love all your reactions. Eminem and NF are two of my absolute favorites. My absolute favorite is Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Audioslave. His solo work is amazing as well. One of my favorite performances is when he performed his song 'When I'm Down' live at the Troubadour. Here is a link ruclips.net/video/2ZrvbZ7_CSk/видео.html

I'm not a huge rap fan, but Eminem has always been great to me. I think you would really like Logic - Homicide (ft. Eminem). Grown to be a fan of Logic fairly recently
Matthew Runaway if u will react to logic, react to his older albums like Under pressure, T.I.T.S (the incredible true story) and his old mixtapes because his recent music isn’t as lyrically dense as his older stuff.
If you want to catch all the doubles and triples on Em's lyrics I would suggest that you go check Knox Hill or The Third Ermest channels. They are really good with breaking the lyrics down over all and especially with Em. Gives you totally new view of his lyrics and for the rap. I'm not natvie English speaker and I would miss so much from what he is saying without them. I don't usually watch new reactions to this song anymore because the warning kind of waters the reactions down. You are kind of exception to that because I knew you would have personal connection to the whole thing. You know this is not first time though when he has stated his opinion over this. There is a song in Revival where he is talking about these mass shootings too. And he also helped raise 2 million pounds for the victims of the Ariana Grande concert. But he does a lot of good. When you just check what he is doing just now in Detroit area you have to respect him just for that.
With no gun, no one can be shot. EMINEM stood even against Trump. The secret Serves has visited him for the freestyle rap against Trump. That was such a powerful msg you just gave.. regardless of your personal views this track brings awareness!!
Oh wow I didn’t realize he had so many charities! What a responsible guy! 🙏🏻
@@MatthewRunaway apparently, while his 3 (2 adopted) daughters were growing up there was NO CUSSING in the house. He saved that for his music. He's an awesome father too. I don't know him personally, but there are a lot of interviews and documentaries out there about Em.

Thank you so much🙏🏻 you really nailed it with your observation! It really is adjusting!
Great reaction buddy,
I watched the original as soon as it came out.

This song has duel meanings, its about Slims fight with depression and addiction and its the point of view of the Vegas Shooter
This song makes me cry. It's ok if it makes you cry too.
The 1st time I herd this song it spun me out... so much different to what usually comes from Em but as per usual it’s a touchy subject but not one we have to face down under... love to see you go way way back and do an old Eminem song like “guilty conscience”
I can do that 100%!
Matthew Runaway Listen to Marshal Mathers
When Em walks towards the stage at the end and what is being said is “this is what the shooter looks like”. Like it could be any one of us who just snaps and goes crazy.
Actually found your channel after the Godzilla reaction. The RUclips algorithm just pushed it apparently but I’ve been ADDICTED to your reactions they just seem genuine. Love what you’re doing and I can’t wait to see where you go from here!
Oh yeah another great job by the way! 🔥 reaction

Respect from Australia 👊 😎
I am a huge Em fan. The first time i saw this video video it was hard to watch. Very powerful and emotional. The coolest part is the fact the song is a double entendre relating the shooters point of view to Em's point of view before going on stage at a show. The amount of double and triple entendres used throughout "Music To Be Murdered By" is insane. The album is some of his best work. If you haven't already i erupts recommend reacting to "No Regrets" ft Don Toliver. Toliver has a great chorus and as usual Em spits fire. It is nice to see an artist of another genre react to hip-hop.
There is never a bad time to raise awareness. Great reaction.
Hell Ya!!

@@str8crownroyal650 What! I'm so checking these guys out! I mean I love NF so!! Let's hope!

It’s crazy because the more I listen to the song (8 or more times) the more I learn about it! There’s just so many things to unpack in this song!
It’s crazy I didn’t really understand how many amazing things some rappers stand behind! A lot of them really push for positive change!
New sub here, keep grinding
Thank you so much! Funny little hint! The next song on the channel is the last word of your comment;)
This album, Music to be Murdered By, gave me musical whiplash. Godzilla plays righ before this song. And all of those news clips are on the album so it was quite the shock my first listen through.

When this video came out there wasn't any warning , so you couldn't tell it was a double entedere but the shooting affected lots of people so they have to put a warning before the video and took it of the trending page.

This entire track is a sample from sound of silence by Simon and Garfunkel...i figured you would know that from the jump... but yes you are correct
i may be late but you should do yah yah, it doesnt have a video but the lyrics are really creative.

Definitely from Simon and Garfunkels sound of silence. Em likes to use samples from classic songs he grew up with
Yes, not the most enjoyable but in my opinion? Needed to be done and only he could do it. I think all politicians should be made to watch this.☮️💜
It’s so true! If any other rapper did this video...I don’t think it would be as impactful as Eminem!
Matthew Runaway if u will react to logic, react to his older albums like Under pressure, T.I.T.S (the incredible true story) and his old mixtapes because his recent music isn’t as lyrically dense as his older stuff.
React to Eminem - Castle and Arose together in one video. They are connected
Thank you for taking the time to comment!! I’ll definitely check out that channel! It could really help!
ScriptWorks and Stevie Knight are also up there with bar breakdowns. Those 4 combined miss absolutely nothing. 💯
