    This is one of my favorite covers. NOFX emphasized the Trench Town Rock feeling of the original lyrics.

      Before Tim started Rancid, coming from Op Ivy, he asked Billy Joe to join him and start a new band. Billy and Tim are good friends (not related). Billy felt things were going too well with Green Day to do that. It would have been an awesome collaboration, no doubt, but I think it worked out well for both Rancid and Green Day.

      +Mike O'Flannigan One of the coolest shows I ever went to. However, Fat Mike talked SO FUCKING MUCH that by the time Rancid went on, we saw their entire set except for when Lars was recovering from back surgery and some fucking asshole kid trying to stage dive ran into him and he fell backwards on his back in the drum set and just stayed there for about 5 minutes. He got help,, got up, didn't say anything, just looked at the audience and then broke in to Ruby Soho. I, of course, missed the last song because Fat Mike talked so god damn much we almost missed the BART (bay area rapid transit) train to go home at midnight. But, still, despite missing the last Rancid song(which was who I was mainly there to see, and my brother is the big NOFX fan) made for one damn exciting event.

    • @highanglelarry
      @highanglelarry 4 года назад

      Well ask Stza and the rest of L.O.C. about the supposed 'unity' music. Thats supposedly the catalyst of why they left Hellcat. They wrote Gay Rude Boys Unite to call out Tim, because he claimed unity, wrote a song about it, except when it came to the gay community. Jesse Michaels even sided with them.
      Now, that being said, i dont know what went down. Stza has been known to be a hypocrite, and a jackass. I dont have any animosity toward either group. Both were huge influences on me. The only problem ive ever had is when they try to write songs/album that is focused on a specific thing, or view. Funny that the thumbnail for the next video to play is Fall Back Down...
      Now, there is your answer, thats what happened to Unity.

    @DoesNotDislike Punk elitism is a response to persecution. I was a punk in high school, and we were ostracized, beat up, and mistreated; as pop culture began leaning toward the pop-punk of the mid-90s, those same jocks who were beating us down in 92 were wearing blink187 shirts. So there emerged a distinct resentment for new converts. This is my experience; punk has gone through many reiterations before my time and since, which again is sporadically embraced by popular culture make it acceptable
