Hello from Australia! Love this video. Goes to show its alway the driver not the car. The noob could have driven the lates AE and lost against the Bandit. LOL.
Just found your channel, and I swear you guys remind me of me and my buddy getting together with our rc cars and having a few drinks and a good time. If you guys are from Michigan by chance, I'd love to meet up and race cars, but shoot the breeze, and have a few drinks with ya. Cheers, and keep it going!
@@blackfx4x4 Looks like you are about 2hrs 45 mins from us as we're in the east side. You got a camper? Come our for a weekend, set up camp and race for a weekend.
Looks like y'all had a lot of fun. I like your light addition. Sadly I have neighbors & won't be able to use a Parking Lot light. Funny that y'all are closing up for the season & I'm almost finished building my track. It's no longer 1.5 million degree down here in Texas so I've gotten a lot more done these past few weekends. I need to dig out one more piece to complete a banked turn but it's just me & the shovel. Thanks for sharing the fun of your backyard track! 00
Good to hear you've been able to resume work without baking yourself outside. Track building and maintenance is a lot of work with someone else helping plus a tractor. I can't imagine having to do it by myself with a shovel. Kudos to you. Our RC season may be coming to an end, but then we just head inside and race slot cars over the winter. The format is the same (the social format) which is drink beer, hack on each other, and sometimes we race. Be sure to keep us updated on your RC track progress. Cheers!
The height of that jump is strategic, believe it or not. A driver that can carry good speed through the previous turn will be able to clear the intersection. Screw up on aforementioned turn and hit the jump too slowly and they put themselves in harm's way by landing in the middle. Also, when coming the other way, if you stay to the right of the lane you lower your chances of getting whacked by somebody coming up short. Driving on the left side of the lane coming across the intersection is riskier.
If running on grass and snow you'd want what would be referred to as a "basher." Essentially, the taller the tires the better. Do a RUclips search for "Best Backyard RC Basher" (or similar search) and you should find plenty of videos with reviews and recommendations. Anything you saw in this video (especially the 1/10 buggies) are not ideal for grass.
@@miltron4989 We used to traverse the Windsor tunnel when we were 19 and 20 to go to the bars where 19+ was legal drinking age. Probably where we got our affinity for the Molson and Labatt's.

Looks like a darn good time. I enjoyed the video. Thanks
You bet! Always a good time hanging out with friends. Racing cars just makes it that much better.

@@blackfx4x4 Whereabouts in Michigan are you?
@@johnniehobby near Allegan, but am familiar with the entire lower peninsula. Very familiar with West Michigan.

Man, I wish I lived in your neighborhood. The track, lights, camera and trucks were awesome!!!
Thanks. A lot of time went into this.
Was watching the OCRC stream today and one of the marshalls almost got taken out by a car hitting crossover jump. :D

6:29...the sweetest sound you'll hear.....me calling the 12th lap for a win! I'm working on some of the new video from last night right this moment...
Flippers should charge 5 bucks a race from each racer
Flippers (or as they are more commonly called 'turn marshals') are paid in beer.
is the track still open and where is located? Looks awesome . Great work.
The jump over the straightaway needs to be a little higher

So, Bob needs more royalties for these things and I'm waiting on Drunken Theology! ;)
Excellent ! What would be an adequate an car/truck for lawn length grass and light snow ?

@@johnniehobby Thanks ! This was a big help !
Does the loser of each heat have to chug a beer ?.. Lol..
Actually, everybody chugs a beer after each heat, except maybe for one guy that doesn't appear to drink and race, which we consider cheating.
Would love to run 2 wheel short course and buggy on this track.
You in SE MI per chance?
@@johnniehobby Across the border in Ontario unfortunately.
