Thoroughly enjoyed the lovely Youngmin talk about Pojagi and the cultures about Korea- her stories were so interesting and various ways they used Pojagi as an old craft and now new ones. . Wonderful to see this and I’ll keep it more for me for years! Thank you, Karen! Terrific!
I keep thinking that your interviews can’t possibly get any better, and yet every new interview proves me wrong! Thank you for this amazing interview. I enjoyed it so very much!
I have to say this is by far my favorite interview so far. What a lovely lady! Young Min is so knowledgeable and well spoken. Truly an artist and maker we can aspire to. Great job Karen!
Excellent interview as always Karen. Thank you so much for all of the great questions you pose. This one was particularly interesting for me as I have just purchased and watched Youngmin Lee’s series of videos. I also took a Sarah Cook machine Bojagi class online during lockdown here in the UK which was my first introduction to Bojagi. It was such a pleasure to watch and listen to your interview today. You always bring a ray of sunshine into my day.
What a wonderful, interesting interview! I'm delighted to learn about this form of textile art that I'd never heard of. Thank you Karen and Youngmin Lee.
🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰 INCREDIBLE!! I had NEVER heard of Bojagi before! This was absolutely fascinating!! You come up with the most unique, interesting guests!! THANK YOU!! 🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰
Very fascinating, I had never heard of bojagi before. I must research this art form more. Excellent interview Karen, this is one of the best you've done. And they are all great!
My father served in the Korean War and had a great fondness for Korea. I’ve never had the privilege of visiting but after watching this charming interview I wish I could see Korea. She is a truly a joy. Thank you both for this interview
Oh my, what a wonderful world you have opened up for us! Learning about a new culture and traditions is absolutely wonderful, but to tie it to textiles is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!
Fascinating, gentle soul. Just loved listening to her and particularly her way of speaking about each stitch is made with intention of love, happiness. ❤️💖🇦🇺
I enjoyed this episode. Just this morning I saw that Joann's was featuring bojagi in their ad so I had to watch this! I liked the part about the 7 friends
Thank you both for a wonderful interview. I loved hearing about the Korean culture that appears so very different, but what underlies it is so familiar.
Another fascinating interview. For me it is an example of not knowing what you don't know about, if that makes sense. A beautiful craft by a beautiful person. Thank you both so much for sharing.
Thank you for a wonderful interview! What a sweet and grounded lady she is! It's worth checking out her website, I'm sure of that! Thank you once again.
This was just so interesting! I had never heard of Bojagi before so this was an educational experience I enjoyed. You have found such a variety of guests and I always learn something new.
Thank you. Outstanding! I was captivated by her and her work, her respect for her past. It is beautiful, and an art form that sounds like has very interesting and useful origins. Just lovely, thanks for having her on your channel.
The interview was enlightening, inspiring and informative. Thank you for the opportunity to be included in this peek inside an treasured technique. Loved Youngmin’s thimble, and the story of “Her Seven Friends”.
I so enjoyed the whole interview and learning all about bojagi and the traditions. As one who loves to do hand needlework I could so relate to Youngmin. Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience.
Great interview! I love the work of Youngmin, especially her cathedral window work "Luminous", with a black background and mother of pearl similar fabric for the windows. It is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Thanks for having her on your channel.
Hello! I hope you had a fabulous day! I got lots done in my sewing room today and now I'm sitting with my hand quilting while I watch your video. I hope you have a beautiful week ahead! Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
Wow, I love this. You amaze me in who you find. Fabric artists from all over the world and cultures is so wonderful. Thank you very much. p.s. Would love a Japanese quilt maker. I've seen videos of Tokyo quilt festival. Takes my breath away...
Another fascinating video! Thank you, Karen, for bringing these fabulous resources (artists, historians and technical people) to our attention. Great job, you asked all the questions I was aching to hear the answer to - and more that I was so glad to have answered!
I really enjoyed this interview on Bojagi. I had heard of it before as I follow Kate from The Last Homely House in the UK. She is a quilter and crafter of many things. She has mentioned your channel so I know that she follows you too. She showed her technique of doing Pojagi (also Bojagi) and I found it to be very interesting and pretty. She has made colorful curtains using this technique. She also had some videos showing how she does Indigo dyeing which is so pretty. If you don’t follow her, I think you would find her very interesting and she brings a slower pace to life which I love. Thank you again for the video. P.S. Youngmin Lee is such a beautiful woman in many ways.
I have been making fabric bags for gifts for years. I love this idea. Wrapping paper with certain coatings is not biodegradable so this is good for the planet too!
The hallmark of a great interview are the questions posed by the interviewer. You asked so many valuable questions- ones that brought out the story of it all. I was fascinated by the history, and also the astrology of the marriage traditions. The astrology can give a person insight into their strengths and challenges going forward in a relationship. Enjoyed this interview very much-- actually, I can't think of any of your interviews that I didn't love! Thank you
I really enjoyed this talk. It’s no wonder you keep going down lots of rabbit holes Karen! There’s so much of interest and to learn about textiles in general as well as about all the techniques from other cultures. Sadly not enough time to do it all.. thanks Karen. ❤️
