As an African woman who didn't grow up around white people, I was shocked to find that people out there with African hair hate their hair. I don't get it. We had Indians around, but I never heard any African girl wishing they had Indian hair. In fact, we did not focus on hair at all. It was just hair, and everyone had hair ... their own kind of hair. Well said x
Yesss working with your hair is so important! I wish more people realized that once you stop trying to fight what God gave you and what grows from your head, taking care of your hair becomes so much easier. It's definitely been true in my case ❤ We can't judge our experiences based on the standards for doing straight or wavy hair
Its society who hates our hair. But i don't carei i get a lot of men chatting to me when my hair is out...when i wear my wigs i still get chatted up...i have 4c hair and its what god gave us x
Yes!! Thank you🙌🏾
I never look or feel beautiful with my natural hair. It’s too short and I’m not beautiful unless I have long hair. I only receive compliments when I wear wigs. My length doesn’t look good with any outfits. I wish I could just cover my head, wear hijab
@@wynterseymour1471 thank you for your honesty
Black "American" women aren't the only Black women that hate their hair....
No one said that but it’s a very overwhelming amount that do because it’s embedded within the culture/history.
Wow, this hit me to the core dealing with my hair, kinks 4c hair has been a problem with me all my life detangling combing the knots etc I think I could go on the Guinness world record for the worlds. Worst hair.. if ever given opportunity to change it, I would do it in a heartbeat and all these hair braiders charging almost thousands of dollars just to put braids just for her to look decent is highway robbery. That’s just my personal opinion.
@@marcialivingston5604 I think it's time to change the narrative. This was also my opinion about my afro only 6 months ago, then I watched RUclips channels of how people look after their afro hair, whether long or short and what they do if they don't put it in 'protective' styles that involve extentions. If you learn how to protect your hair from tangles and knots it suddenly doesn't take that long to detangle. I hope you manage to feel different about your hair because there is nothing we can do to change it x
You're so pretty!
You and your hair are beautiful 🌹❤️💯
Thanks Lorraine🤗🤍
4C HAIR IS EVERYTHINGGGG...MY FAVORITE HAIR TYPE TOOOOO BAD ALLLLL THE OTHER RACES ARE IN AWE OF OUR TYPE HAIR...WE SHOULD LOVEEE OUR HAIR
Sorry, but you are delulu. Other races don't want to have 4c hair.
Love your comment x
Thank you for this!!! We need to do away with those notions and beliefs.
Absolutely!!
There’s no ranges- and we should stop referring to hair as type 4 there’s African hair and Africanized hair … those ppl don’t refer to their hair as type 1- braids and plaits are perfect aesthetic
Hey I’m Judy. I never heard of that I’m 67 years old I never had that type of stereotype when and where I grew up. W had the Black Soul of the 50 , 60, 70, Our Culture during that time was free from those toxins. Only over the years did white supremacy perpetuated those ideas and beliefs on our black youth all over the world. Now no women wears they natural hair in all the colonized continents, you know what i mean. Stop putting the narrative out for US. Be specific. The Baby Boomers and beyond are still alive.
interesting
4c is annoying cause your hair shrink od like I now every one hair shrink but 4c shrinks a lot 😂
The shrinkage is real
Go get a hairbotox or a cysteine treatment it will change your life. The result is : Easy, manageable 4c hair and if you want to silkpress it's your way for straight natural life. 🎉 Hope it will help.
From a 4c challenged with her hair to another 😊
Thanks for the tip
We don’t need chemicals to manage our natural hair!
You remind me Green Beauty channel
It is what it is 🤷🏻
Im just tired of the kiddie hairstyles lol
Which 4c hairstyles do you think looks most childish?
Same.
Nice video
Thank you🙏🏾🤍
We still not letting go right? The past is the past..stop wasting enery on things u cannot control.
Can natural hair be sexy?
I would ask Pam Grier, Beyoncé, Solange, Lupita, Janelle monae, Jill Scott, Sonia Tucker, Ammoye, and Zozibini Tunzi to answer that question.
If you need other references let me know.
Smh sad….
Regarding represantation, I choose to follow women(controlling what I'm consuming) who have 4c hair and love it. That love and care they have is something you eventually learn because you're seeing it a lot❤🫠
Totally agree! I’ve been following some 4c hair creators that wear their hair and I love the look!
I guess getting comfortable with styling my hair is a gradual process.
