It gives a call and response type of feel, one part of him is telling the other part something. You'll notice he says "going insane to stay sane" before saying "now set me free" the "insane" part of him is the part pleading to be set free which is why in the beginning he says "I never stop, I never stop" and "fuck all of your opps" you could see how those parts are in quotation marks as if it's something that somebody is telling him. I believe it's the "insane" telling the "sane" that his haters are doing nothing for him, stop letting them get to him, fuck them. Jimin has been waiting to show us this side of him and once again, I can not stress this enough, HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT In conclusion, I loved everything about this song. Jimin is amazing. Our dear Jimin has a black belt in taekwondo and is a multi-level belt master in kendo. He's also dabbled in other martial arts apart from those two. Just coz Jimin is sweet, soft, and loving doesn't mean he can't go hard and murder, if he wants to. But he's such a kind soul. So all that aggressive strength will just be channeled into his art. 😊💜
4:40 YES exactly!!! I mean I had no idea what he would give us but THIS IS SO JIMIN! It makes perfect sense for him, the production, the lyrics and the choreo is so Jimin. And I love how he brought back the lower register we used to get in some early BTS songs and then he really showcased his ability as a vocalist with his high siren vocals, his normal register angelic vocals and mixed with parts of lower register, even added the heavy autotune to a small part and some words as a really cool distortion effect on his vocals AND then mixed in some rap parts too. I'm addicted to this MV and song, it's art, so theatrical and expressive. Perfect for Jimin. He is the sweetest, cutest most caring human and shy but he is also outspoken, really brave, strong and has a temper (as BTS have said he and Hobi is the scariest when angry) and he has a lot of sass so this is not out of the box for him if you know anything about him. I'm not really surprised as much as I am proud that he chose to begin expression of his first full solo release in his lower register (which to me sounds like his English-speaking voice), dark and dramatic; with smoothness and calm in chaos choreography. Then he turns it up then tones down, back and forth, the push and pull. Jimin has been pulling my gaze in BTS' choreography since I was pushed down the rabbit hole by my teenage daughter 2 years ago😂! This mv is very artfully done and the more you watch it, the more layers you pick up on. Now, feeling more excited for his album to come out. I agree with you that March 24th can’t come fast enough but there is something about timing and just letting the anticipation lead up to the big day when his album is released and then everyone will be able to hear the other songs he composed/made.

The writing on the see-through shirt is a German poem written in 1899 by Rainer Maria Rilke, called "Ich lebe mein leben in wachsenden ringen," translated as "I live my life in ever-widening circles."
The English translation:
"I live my life in ever-widening circles,
each superseding all the previous ones.
