This video is certainly not just a look into the amazing career of Jimmie Johnson, but NASCAR as a whole. The transition of a sport filled with big names, big sponsors, tons of fan turnout (even at the Brickyard), great broadcasters, high horsepower, to what can now only be described as a shell of its former self. Maybe one day it will surge back to its former glory, I hope it does.

I remember watching this race on his rookie season and I just knew he was going to be great I didn't know he was going to win seven championships but he was definitely a talent looking back on his career because I followed it very intensely nobody's supposed to win like that in this era Petty even said he wouldn't want to have to race against Jimmy Johnson the cards are so even and how can you win that much dominate cuz that's what this man did you dominated five straight champs no one's ever going to do that again I don't think

My dad has seen every one of his 11 Dover wins in-person, and I have seen the most recent 8 of the 11 wins in-person. But I never got tired or sick of him winning (but I was tired of my uncle giving us the lip after every win. Lol).

Crazy to think this is over. I remember the first time I saw Jimmie Johnson, it was after he had that scary wreck in that 92 Altel at Watkins Glen in the Busch series. Then seeing this young rookie grow into one of the greatest drivers of all-time in NASCAR. I remembered hating him for stealing Jeff Gordon's thunder, and a couple of titles from him, but at the end of the day, Jimmie was one hell of a driver. Probably the greatest driver in his series as far as having a feel for what his car is doing. He was the Aryton Senna of NASCAR in that regards.
That being said, he carried himself as a consummate professional, and we are lucky to have seen Jimmie do his thing in NASCAR. I'm hoping he can find some success in IndyCar and what ever Sports Car series he plans on running in the future.

Watched this mans whole career (starting from that first all star win) and I gotta say it’s really weird how Jeff Gordon picked the guy and they ended up having similar careers. Crazy how it came full circle from savvy young rookie with a hit or miss style to one of the most dominant athletes of the 21st century, rivaling the likes of tiger woods, Peyton Manning, and Jeff Gordon himself. So much so people couldn’t stand him and figured the only way someone could be this good was to cheat. Just like Jeff. What a ride he has had, and he’s got one more shot to go back home to victory lane tomorrow. 🙏

Imagine if the first qualifying time was 48.433 that would have been epic foreshadowing for the seven championships (because 48 is Jimmie’s number, and 43/3 are Petty and Earnhardt)

I love you added the Carl Edwards 'video game' clip.... if the wall didn't have friction (like in the video game Carl had played), he'd have had the win... lol

The fact that his 4 wins in a row in 2007 doesn't make his highlight reel is a testament to the kind of excellence he had through his career.

I’m really sad he won’t be in nascar anymore. Especially that he had many chances to win, and something had to ruin it. But I hope he will do well in Indycar and perform the best he can!

9/11 was a terrible tragedy. To reflect upon it, is so heart breaking.

I remember when the big thing was will he tie Cale Yarborough and then he did that and then it was like can he break that record and he did and then he won another one all five consecutive championships back to back that's insane and now he's tied with the two other greatest of the sport you can't take nothing away from this guy I don't care how his couple of final seasons were
