No I wouldn’t lie to get on the jury to make sure she got guilty. I wouldn’t be able to be on the jury because I really don’t believe what happened to Jorge was accidental or excusable, and I don’t know if the defense would really be able to change my mind at this point and I want her to have a fair trial, I really do. And I don’t agree that letting cameras in the court leads to unfairness- trials have always been meant to be public. People with too much power who can decree people guilty and lock them up or have them killed would absolutely abuse that power because humans are flawed that way. Accountability is necessary, and public viewing is part of accountability

They are only considering closing the court for the one single hearing where the physical evidence the state has is presented to Sarah since she is pro se. Typically this is done behind closed doors and not in the court at all but in this case since Sarah is pro se they had to made an arrangement that includes a record so that Sarah can't claim she never saw something before. The issue is that if the media gets to be at this preview it will give Sarah grounds for appeal on the basis of an unduly prejudiced jury pool and that might work. I worry that the state won't want to retry this case if the appellate division tosses it back to the trial court.

JAC has been funding Boone's defense since early April 2020, less than two months after her case was filed Feb 25, 2020. Atty Padilla indicates that while he was hired, he was never paid anything, and in April 2020 asked the court to establish and order Boone indigent, so that he could get the JAC to pay travel expenses, experts, etc. It would be so revealing to put together and show a video covering all the experts that have been asked for and how much the JAC has approved as to funding.

This is a discovery exchange being handled in court because Sarah is an inmate. It would prejudice the potential jury pool to have the media there. Secondly, the discovery will be graphic as it includes autopsy photos as well as other sensitive discovery. Since Sarah doesn't know what she is doing, her discovery may not be admissible for trial. The judge will have an obligation to keep the media out of discovery to protect Sarah's pro se' rights. The judge may move the discovery to another secure location. However, the courtroom is ideal as it is already secure within a secure building. There is likely case law for this circumstance.

4:00 No, I wouldn’t. I personally have never had jury duty, but I think I would be a fair juror if I don’t know anything ahead of time about the case.
Now, with that being said, I’m still going to admit that I absolutely believe Sarah is guilty. But ESPECIALLY because I want to see her convicted, I would be honest about my knowledge in her case, which I believe would get me kicked off the jury,l. I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize her being able to get a mistrial or win an appeal. As far as I understand, if someone lies on the jury to get there just to convict her, then it could potentially ruin the trial. (Please feel free to correct me on any of this if you know I’m wrong about anything!)

I would NEVER lie to get on a jury. I really don't believe most people would consider doing that. In addition, most people try to avoid jury service. I'm more likely to believe potential jurors would lie to GET OUT of jury service. As far as Sarah's evidence and whether we should see her viewing it: We, the public, probably already know what 95% of it is. It's easy to find between all of the interviews and body cams and some of the legal paperwork. Not to mention Sarah's letters. So I really don't think there is much of a risk that the streaming the evidence viewing adds any harm to Sarah or the jury pool. I think Sarah thinks she is going to be able to pick up, touch, and manipulate everything. She might be able to in a limited capacity but I highly doubt she's going to be allowed to do what she would like to do. Of course, these are only my opinions.
