When I was learning this song in 10 the grade for a competition, I imagined myself having something like a golf ball in the back of my mouth to produce an open tone. This girl, yes she has a very beautiful lyrical voice, but her tone was very closed and too nasal. For one to master this song, or really any Italian aria, the vocalist must always have an open, bright, but also heavy tone to perfect a piece this beautifully composed. But other than the closed/nasally tone, she did a wonderful job.
I cannot believe some of these negative comments. Sure, she made some mistakes, but you can’t expect her to get every single tiny thing right. Her voice is beautiful, and there is no need to call her singing “awful” and saying that you “hated it”.

This is an amazing cover you did! Color me impressed! I know a lot of people were quick to comment, but they didn't even acknowledge that your voice is obviously not developed, since most voices develop in your thirties, and for being in what looks like your teens, you did an amazing cover! I do agree though, try popping your jaw down and open you mouth to create a less closed off sound and "pop a marshmallow in your mouth," as my music teacher says. Keep on singing! You can only get better from here!
I don't think she needs to stick to just pop songs. Just because the song has been sung one way so many times, doesn't mean there's any reason it can't be sung in a new style. Honestly, I really enjoyed her rendition of it. There was something very simple, beautiful and pure about her approach. So much lighter then many versions I've heard!

I have heard this piece preformed by a hundred artists. Most of them, hyper-professionalized versions sung by middle-aged women ( and some men) who are way too jaded to sing an Aria that epitomizes the heart of a young girl. Hearing Sarah singing, with a simple but sublimely beautiful piano accompaniment, makes me realize that this is the way the song SHOULD have always been performed. This beautiful young girl's recording is heart breakingly beautiful in the way only a young girl with a true but not over-polished voice can perform it. Please, don't urge her to become a parody of Maria Callas or Malena Ernma.

You do know that women under a certain age SHOULD NOT be singing in Chest Voice ... that does damage that cannot be undone.
