Denis, so cool to know that you're on YT, Tony Jackson Group was and will always be brilliant! Being from Norway, I couldn't help but hear that Tony mentioned that the band had played in my country - do you have any recollections of it, and where in Norway did you perform? Would love to know, although it's a bit late to see you guys now... ;)
Terrific stuff. The band always had great feel and chose fantastic songs. This is a great addition to my LP and CD of the band's collected work. Big thanks especially to Denis Thomson. RIP Tony. Anyone else interested in this band should read Drumming Up Vivrations by Paul Francis..
DENIS - you guyz are my idols - no joke - i got ripped-off for 2000.00 sterling trying to buy your estudio e.p. from a rotten belgian dealer back in 2002 - water under the bridge but we do 'you're my number once in a while still - love YOU maan - jeff - lyres group - boston
@@POKEMONOJEFF Dear Jeff, no to hear. As a Belgian (we met) I'm destroyed. knowing you've been ripped off like that!!!!!!!!! Anyway whatch out and let's be ourselves the number ones.
I wonder if Tony sang his own backups on these songs, or if he had guys that sang as well as he did? The vocals are really good. Amazing that The Searchers didn't think there was room enough in one band for two great lead singers. Just mind blowing.
Tonetwisters: Chris Curtis' ego is to blame for Tony's departure from The Searchers. Curtis declared himself "group leader" and told Tony he didn't want him singing lead anymore. This after Tony had sung lead on a couple of Number 1's! Outrageous. The group should have ousted Curtis instead. If anyone was replaceable it was Curtis.
This is GREAT-why these guys didn't became big is a mystery,Tony was a great singer and the Vibrations were pretty good
I was in the band when we did this
Cool !!!

Ian Buisel was an excellent guitarist. What a shame he died so young :o(
Great band!
NO The guys in Tony's band could sing, I became their bass player when Tony stopped playing bass. Ian, Paul and myself all sang.
Thanks for great playing in one of my favourite bands of the period.
