I just can't use her, everything from how to combo to properly raising an enemy's stagger. I see everywhere how good she is yet with me she's almost dead weight. Only thing i can use her for is the starshower for some decent damage.
i also had tifa as main much as i could. you have to be super fast on the controls to keep up. i can’t remember the name of rhe materia but i had her hasted and boosting atb etc. actually this game is so good. esp in hard, where each character becomes unique and the materia actions vital as MP is thin. damn i want to play it again
@@ted7728 enemies almost immediately aggro whichever character you're controlling. for some fights the safest strategy might involve spreading your characters out and swapping who you control every 3 seconds, because bosses go full sprint towards your controlled character and ignore everything else. your basic attacks build up gauge to use special attacks & magic. if you're not in control of a character the gauge goes up VERY slowly. combine these two and you end up having to constantly rotate between characters like a game of hot potato
Tifa at least can cancel her normal attack animation, imagine being cloud, pressed the attack button for punisher mode and stuck in that animation for 3 seconds while the boss is ready to pummel him

God the fight music is SO FUCKING GOOD, was never a FF fan before FFXV came out for Windows but holy shit FF7R has the best soundtrack ever, the fighting music is so lit
@@franmau711 yep, I listened to a compilation of all the prelude songs, they’re all amazing. But IMO, FF7 has the best soundtrack of any game I’ve ever played. And I’m so jealous of people who played the original, I was not even a year old when it came out, because Jesus fucking christ the game is just a giant nostalgia trip, talk about fan service, I’ve been loving watching OG FF7 clips and seeing that the music is legit the EXACT same, it’s just modernized in the remake, and IMO I think they made it better
Cloud & Tifa are seriously op in this game when used correctly. Cloud with dodging & counters, Tifa with raw speed of attacks. There’s not necessarily a need for a healer if you use these two and have Barret camping long range attacks to draw enemy focus. I hope they work on it a little before part two because with a bit of practice anyone can defeat pretty much any enemy in this game with these tactics & only very seldom situational moments do you ever need to switch materia.
i was wondering too how they were gonna deal with the carry over. do we retain the current inventory or do we start fresh? seemed like any option would be challenging to implement.

I wonder if he could do even more stagger damage if he played in hard mode (chocobo would have had more hp), used inferior weapons/materias on Tifa and Cloud (so that Chocobo wouldn't die too quickly), and used time stop with cloud to prolong the stagger duration.

overpower is used in neutral situations when the enemy is neither staggered nor pressured, when you want to close the gap and also when you have used unbridled strength twice, since you can continue comboing off overpower with square and it hits pretty hard
If you play the game on Hard (after completing it once on Easy or Normal) you unlock a combat simulator in chapter 17. If you beat the final challenge in that combat simulator you get an item called "Gotterdammerung" that lets you enter any fight with a full Limit meter. The Gotterdammerung also keeps continually building your Limit meter over the course of the fight (notice that Tifa has almost gotten another full Limit meter at the end of this fight).

It doesn't make sense comparing normal melee attacks with Aerith, her focus is making the strongest Magic damage BY FAR and healing habilities, it's like me expecting Tifa to make the most damage with Firaga Thundaga etc when she doesn't have the damage stats nor the MP
@@LuisSR01 what did I say? I said it's very powerful. But all her own attacks have massive wind-up which are easily interrupted. ATB is needed for performing spells but you can't really generate it with doing basic attack. And tifa is a very versatile character so you can get pretty high damage from her. Aerith's one and ONLY problem is she's slow as fuck.

If she was fast on top of that it would've break the combat system

I'm not at all saying they aren't powerful, it's just that if you take control over her and try to build your meter, you are guaranteed to get interrupted. I had the most difficulty in the section where she and tifa are alone. Tifa can handle herself but aerith... Nope. You need a very specific build to make her highly useful. Other than that, I just used her for healing.

I find dodging in this game to be less intuitive, less consistent, more difficult to pull off and less rewarding than just countering the hit and hitting back harder with Cloud. Tifa is fun to play and certainly deals alot of damage but some moves in this game just have tracking so silly i cannot be bothered, and since as far as i can tell there're no I frames on the PS4 version, Tifa just requires alot more matchup experience on whatever youre fighting against than Cloud who does counterstance/presses triangle and gets dopamine for free. I wish i had intergrade cuz there Tifa certainly got an upgrade and focused strike seems alot more evasive and safe than before.

this - ATB and haste just make her cycle as fast as possible. the game really only starts in hard mode though. normal is just for learning the control system and building up the materia to be full powered. play hard with no items - and that’s when the uniqueness of each character and how materia works with each really becomes clear.
The best part about Tifa, which most dont notice, is that her fighting pose is of a right handed fighter but when she fights her left hand is the dominant one. Hit like if you noticed this just now.

I can't use her properly, she currently has the record of most deaths seeming to be more squishy than Aerith since she needs to close in.

During my playthrough I always switched to Tifa as leader whenever I could. She's insanely OP in this game.

Tifa is OP. Aerith attacks are very strong but they have a very long wind up which make them kinda useless because she keeps getting interrupted.

You should have parry materia equipped. During battle you just Hold R1+O or X depending on your controller set-up. Hope this helps. 😁
