Awwwe....trust me I know the feeling. You look so beautiful naturally 😍. And I think we should encourage more natural beauty because like you said it starts with healthy skin. It’s another level of confidence embracing your natural beauty.💕
Hooray ! I’ve not even watched all this but when you said support black businesses I had to commend you! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 why keep giving money to establishments that know ZERO about us our hair or the products they sell for black people & our hair. There should be black owned companies at the forefront of black hair & beauty as it’s a necessity our life to the others it’s just another way to make A LOT of money of our backs. So yes going forward I too want to support my people. 😊🇬🇧✊🏾 now back to your video 👍🏾😊
you have the most detailed and comprehensive explanation of installing and maintaining locs on the internet! thank you for the effort you put into these videos. i pray PA school is going well. with your attention to details, i imagine you are at the top of your class!!’
The Oraje o-locker tool is another black owned company. Thank you so much for this video. Very informative! Your skin still looks amazing w/o the makeup.

I just wanna thank you for such an amazing job documenting your process as thoroughly as you did. I too finally took the plunge, I have 15” 4b hair. I tried to make them very small but my surface area is only 180” so I only have about 400 twists/locks but it looks like a lot more. I really got a lot of helpful info from your videos, I look forward to your updates. 😊🤙🏽
The maker of the EasyLoc tool is a Black owned business. I use her tool when I self-retighten. It's plastic and flexible, and it works well for small locs.
Thanks for sharing your microloc journey you make interlocking look Soo easy coz the struggle over here is real😭. I am freshly mini braidloced and documenting my journey I continue to learn and be inspired!!
Interlocking is easy in theory 😭 but trust me my shoulders definitely don’t feel that way. It helps me to lean myarms on the back of a couch or chair while I zone out watching tv. And congrats on starting your journey!
I'm about to start. Thank goodness for sharing your journey and empowering us with this knowledge so we don't have to pay astronomical prices for classes or install
@QueenEleem you explained the retighten method so well. I’m recently trying to learn how to do my own reties and was so confused but you helped me understand so much!!
Fellow eczema person here 🤚🏽. Part of my eczema is having dealt with dry skin for my entire life so far. And the other thing that has started happening over the recent years is that I get these excessive rashes that pop up on my forearm, wrists and other places -especially once the temperature starts to get hotter. Ugh 😩. I’m slowly trying to change my diet and implement a more natural care lifestyle but if anyone has any tips I would love to know! Thanks!
I get eczema on my back really bad as well as my chest, especially if I don't properly moisturize to keep my skin from cracking which just increases the dryness and bumps. What I started doing is buying bars of soap that have moisturizing properties. I literally can spray a dry crackly area, rub a little of the soap, and my skin won't break out. For me, I just do my utmost best to stay moisturized at all times as that's what sets my rashes off. I also try to stick with lotions that aren't greasy (or leave a weird film on my skin) but keep my skin from drying out. Hopefully at least one thing that helps me may work for you sib
using retinol serum works for my seasonal eczema areas (neck area) really fast (about 2-3 days and i can feel it healing and i’ll stop using it and let it heal on its on after that). but when i use it on my face it gives me breakouts around my eyes
Thank you for this video! I'm considering starting my own microlocs and was curious about the DIY retightening method. This was really helpful! I know this is an older video, but good luck to you on journey and continue to share your greatness with the world!
loved watching this, my first retightening is in a few weeks, looking forward to it. thanks for the water tip during a retie. Im a microloc newbie too trying to document my process. thanks for sharing
What’s the caution about retightening and “holes in the loc”? I am trying to understand the origin of the holes and what’s necessary to avoid them. Any ideas?
A hole happens when you go thru the loc in from the same direction more than once consecutively. All you have to do to avoid them is go they the loc from a different angle each pass.
Did you end up finding a loctician or you kept self retying? I have a loctician, she reties too tight, doesn’t use water, and when I asked if she could use the plastic universal loc tool if I buy it for her she said that would feel the same as the metal loc tool she uses that gets dragged through this particular loc at my crown because the tool is too big lol so I’m wanting to start DIY reties soon for scalp health. If you hired a loctician did you like the experience?
I went to a loctician near me but she’s pretty new. She helped me do 1/3 of my locs so I’ll probably continue going to her for help but not a full Reti until she gets used to a hook took over a needle tool. And yes I really don’t like the crochet hook tool bc it constantly snags…. So that’s a reason I personally avoid using it… I’d ask ppl in your area with sisterlocks/Microlocs if they’re loctician takes transfers
Good question! I need to do an updated reti video but now I don’t think it matters. Mostly just important to pick a rotation and a direction and stick to it
If only you lived in delaware I would ask you would you like to gain a client although you’re not looking for one ☺️ but you did a great job on your hair
I like you best without makeup, natural in every aspect. I don't hate makeup but I dislike the fact that we rely on it to feel confident. One of the worst for me is foundation, putting on foundation is trying to create this way too perfect looking face that doesn't even look human but doll-like. We all have different shades of colors, pimples, scars, etc. Why are we seeking perfection so much while we know it is not humanly attainable? I find this so disturbing that nowadays you see comments like "OMG you're so pretty even without makeup", " you are so beautiful you don't need makeup" , "I am only pretty with makeup"... Seriously? Such a shallow society, we need to change our mindset. We always talk about women emporwement but for a LOT of us we are still slaves to makeup products. What about loving ourselves no matter what we look like and use makeup to enhance our already beautiful features and not trying to look like someone else. We are not perfect, and that is the beauty. Let's stop trying to be perfect, everybody has imperfections. We are literally generating insecurities about natural things.
I am noticing that you do your reties way too often you shouldn’t be doing them every month you should give your hair a break let it grow and allow you hair to go through the process of locking
No I just scoured the internet and did a lot of trial and error. BUT I have actually been thinking of creating an affordable course on self retightening for anyone who is looking self retie without tons of mistakes. If you have specific questions please email or Dm me the questions and I’ll make sure to answer them in the course!
"I want to make sure my skin is healthy, not perfect" I FELT THAT❗️
Thanks! I was nervous about putting up a vid w out makeup but you and everyone else have been so encouraging 🙂

You got this!
We appreciate your honesty about the makeup sis. You're still beautiful 🥰
You're a good teacher.
This is the best explanation for how to interlock
Thanks 👏👍

Your demeanor is so calming😊🧘🏽♀️❤ Love your videos!!!

I get forearm rashes too, I didn't know that was Eczema. Also inner elbow and thigh rash in the heat, I hate summer time!

💚💚💚💚💚 I love the bubbly personality. 💚💚💚 Congrats on grad school.
Thank you 😊
Love your channel! If you're willing/able it would be great to hear about your grad school plans and even your approaches to study. Keep well :)
Yes I definitely have plans to give more details on that. 🙂🙂
I bought the easyloc tool and it's very easy for me to use. I love it . Love the video.

You are a TRULY a lifesaver. Thank you!
Wow i love your technique ! The London Loc Tool is also black owned
So helpful thank you for posting!
I have the nappyloc tool and the O Locker both are black owned

If you don't finish in a single session, how do you do your hair when separating what's done and what isn't?
Nice! What is the reason to go counterclockwise?
Good question! I need to do an updated reti video but now I don’t think it matters. Mostly just important to pick a rotation and a direction and stick to it
I think she did a video that showed that CCW retained more length
You’re a life saver thanks!
I wish I would of parted my hair like a grid you have. I just grabbed hair and twisted it.
Thank you!
If only you lived in delaware I would ask you would you like to gain a client although you’re not looking for one ☺️ but you did a great job on your hair
How long does it take to retighten your hair
I love this video !
Any ways in which I could improve it or provide more details?
I think you provided more than enough detail 😊
How many locs do you have?
I have 668 locs
Simply gorgeous
To envision the axes, think of shifting a clock around your head

For flawless skin that doesn’t need foundation (and that can help with eczema I’m sure) try Drunk Elephant products! You’re beautiful BTW!
Ok I’ll check it out! Thanks for the recc
What a beautiful soul you have
I am noticing that you do your reties way too often you shouldn’t be doing them every month you should give your hair a break let it grow and allow you hair to go through the process of locking
I agree. I love how neat they look but there isn't much new growth at all.
Is it bad for your hair to do it that often?
it was a tuesday yes it can be too much tension could cause breakage
Yes I’ve been thinking that I’ll stretch it out. This time I waited 5 weeks.
Did you take a class to learn how to retie your hair?
No I just scoured the internet and did a lot of trial and error. BUT I have actually been thinking of creating an affordable course on self retightening for anyone who is looking self retie without tons of mistakes. If you have specific questions please email or Dm me the questions and I’ll make sure to answer them in the course!
How long does it usually take for you to retigten?
Retightening on my own over a period of 4-7 days take me around 12-14 hours. It takes people longer when they self reti.
Thank you so much
Makeup covers our true beauty. God made no MISTAKES when he was creating us, we should not feel the need to make corrections.
shes actually alot prettier Without makeup
