It's 2019 now. I just wanted to say I actually loved Endless Eight. In fact, when it finally moved on, I almost wanted more. I loved watching for those subtle differences in each episode.
The only reasons why there most likely isnt is that Tanigawa isnt writing enough books to make a series, and that KyoAni Stopped all animation contracts and have started producing their own shows. One of those reasons can now be thankfully disproven, Upcoming 'The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan' Anime adaption seems to say that they have no problem producing the animation.... So really we just need to wait until Tanigawa writes more books.
Starlight Glimmer Except there are already plenty of books for Kyoto Animation to adapt. If I'm not mistaken, they've covered 5 of the novels, and 11 have been published so far.
People complaining about the Endless Eight arc and calling it bad when it's actually cleverly done to make you feel how Nagato felt remembering it all, imagine how bored she felt doing the same thing thousands of times and compare that to how bored we felt just watching it 8 times. It's just giving us a glimpse of what she went through and thus why her actions in the movie happened, as I'm sure Endless Eight was part of her motive
Plus they redraw every single episode (angles, clothing, lighting etc.) so even if you’re stuck in a timeloop it’s still fun to watch. *cough* and those poolside scenes...
Hands down the best anime I've ever watched. Couldn't believe the first season started in 2006. I stopped watching it so abruptly after the episodes suddenly ended unexpectedly. Is there any more Haruhi I could watch?
there's a spin off in another universe, where they reference the original and the Chan series, called the "disapearence of yuki nagato" or something. its an enjoyable watch, if you keep in mind its a parallel universe where haruhi isn't god and they're all human. and asakura is nagatos best friend because in this universe she didn't try to kill kyon in the second episode. also, "the melancholy of haruhi suzimiya Chan" remember the Chan, is a little series with 5 muinet episodes with the original characters, with stuff they totally would do. that ones in chibi form but still good. also, asakura is shrunk and living wit nagato.
I highly recommend the LN. It's writing is absolutely brilliant, and the stuff that takes place after the end of the anime is even better than most of the early stuff, with the latest story arc being right up there with the movie.
I just now realized the differences between the backgrounds when the introduce the characters. (Not just the colours :P) Haruhi - Its like star or a 'BAM' sign when reading a comic book. Like her bashfulness. Kyon- Like a splat of paint. Kinda like how he feels as if he should be in this mess and he was just "splat" on. Yuki- Looks digital and some what computer like. Like her. (Its pretty cool tho.) Mikuru- Fluffy like a cloud. Like her personality. Bubbly and cute. Itsuki- A circle. Just like him, hes got a well-rounded personality.

Once the series ended I blazed through the LN thinking "maybe I'll get some closure", but then Surprise Part II happened and Nagaru Tanigawa hasn't written any other novel since 2011. Since then, I've watched a LOT of other series, and also read many novels. Even after all this time, I miss this. I really, really miss this. No matter how many works I read or how many series I watch, no matter how much time it passes, I will still miss this. Here's hoping we get some closure in the future.
whoever keeps coming up with these amazing theme concepts (The comic concept, the part where everyone nods their heads, the words and random stripes passing by, the running) are actually my heroes.
Not only that but I feel like maybe they were also trying to get the viewers to sympathize with Nagato, you know? Like they were trying to get the viewers to really understand the boredom of knowing exactly what's going to happen next but not being able to say anything. I thought it did a great job at that. Definitely an amazing anime.
This opening almost makes watching the entire endless eight worth it... Almost xD But in all seriousness I very much prefer this op to the first one. IMO it's got better visuals and it's got a kickass song that I can't stop listening to :D

Honestly. Everyone complains about Endless Eight. I can understand the people who watched it when it aired and had to wait a week (or however long) for each new episode and they got practically the same episode over and over again. But, for me, watching it for the first time now, watching them all through at once, it's not that bad. It was actually pretty cool. Though, I was kind of disappointed it wasn't some HaruhixKyon ending.

Well thank you for your response good sir. I have just finished watching the movie after finding out that there was actually a movie after the new rerun episodes of the series. You see, Animefreak had listed the new episodes as "the disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya," so if I ever saw that name again, I would just think it was referring to the new rerun episodes (never understood what that title was pointing too at that time). Groundhog day is now on my "list" of animes and movies to watch.

You see, Animefreak had listed the new episodes as "the disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya," so if I ever saw that name again, I would just think it was referring to the new rerun episodes (never understood what that title was pointing too at that time). Groundhog day is now on my "list" of animes and movies to watch.
