My town got some levelling up funding a couple of years ago and the first thing that they did with it was to pay a consultancy firm £150,000 only to decide that they didn’t like their ideas and that was that.
Who cares. The people will not see any money. The council in the areas will spend it on pointless pet projects.

'Financial windfall' - so where is the money coming from because somebody will have to foot the bill. There is no such thing as free money.
The "windfall" is coming from the increased taxes on people in London and the South East. The north already receives more spending than it pays in taxes.
Do you think an MP from the Midlands will say they are expecting a financial windfall from the government? Somehow I doubt it, for decades the Midlands has been a neglected part of the country and I don't expect it to change anytime soon.

Let me guess....a Labour Council by any chance!? The same happened in Blackpool due to a Labour Council and they're still determined to turn what's left of the airport land into a retail park. They knocked down the relatively new terminal at quite a pace in order to prevent a return to its previous status as a commercial airport.
If you want to ruin your town (your country) and stop all progress in its tracks, vote Labour!
When it comes to investing in Doncaster the expression "throwing good money after bad" comes to mind.

How do you intend to grow the pie by forever taking away the spending power from those that will grow that pie ?
And no I am not talking about the 1% who take and ever larger slice of that pie.

All the politicians involved in this need to work together instead of using the opportunity to blame each other. What I've seen of Nick Fletcher doesn't impress me at all. All I've heard are words and there seems, no substance.
Peel Group, who owned this, is a big investor in regional airports, notable John Lennon Liverpool. They could not justify the operation at Doncaster and nobody would buy it off them either.
One other thing to add, all I've gained under the tories is a loss of income. My disposable income is now a lot less than it was pre pandemic (and I had to work through that, no furlough for me). I can't wait to see these clowns out of power. Unfortunately the other parties aren't much cop either.
