@thestudentYT i agree, i think the background music is epic and unique to your style. If you had a bad mic i’d agree but w/ your quality, it adds tension
Cool strategy! It would be interesting to see a you do a playthrough/summary overview where you combine this one with some of your other colonial game innovations, like the Eldorado Gold fleet, Permament Papal controller, Thalassocracy gov, etc.
Really cool strat although i do i think that becoming shogunate, which you can do by 1530 or even earlier by following the mission tree, or getting thalasocracy which you also get through playing the mission tree is much stronger. Shogunate is shogunate and thalassocracy gives insane amounts of money because it was balanced by a literal monkey. 5 trade power and 2 goods produced for every protectorate plus full transfer of their trade is okay when you have 3 of them but you can easily get 20 even 30 at which point the game is literally over and there is no point in playing
I was the one showing how OP Thalassocracy is already months ago XD And also it is a Tier 8 Reform so you can be Aztecs Empire AND have the Thalassocracy at the same time
@rasplay5761 i dont think that you quite understand how much money you get. Keep in mind that you started with a 100dev nation and only followed the mission tree to get the thalasocracy. "Money doesnt matter that late" untill you click the button at 1550 and suddenly you are halfway to economic hegemon by the time of the league war without building a single manufactory
Great video as always! Speaking of Aztec, I recently came across a a strat to obtain the Aztec mission tree and their OP high american unit for any nation that can convert to religions in the Pagan religion group. The general idea (as he demonstrated with Ming) is to 1. Convert to Animalist through rebellion 2. Get exploration idea, roll for colonial range advisors and grant colonial privileges 3. No-CB Ainu and then attack east Siberian minors and Haida (Alaskan native tribe). Claims for the latter two can be obtained by colonizing a nearby province, make claims and then abandoning the colony. In the meanwhile, attack Cebu the same way and then colonize Micronesia to get the great project for faster colonization; Micronesia will also serve as a middle point for moving your capital to the new world. Then colonize the southern tip of Baja California peninsula. 4. Advance into Aztec lands and be sure to have the province Cholula. You can move your capital first to Micronesia and then to Mexico to prevent colonial nations from forming. 5. An event with an MTTH of 1 year should fire, enabling you to convert from pagan to Nahuatl religion (with all reforms) 6. A decision to embrace Aztec heritage should appear, and becomes available to take when the Aztec tag no longer exists. Clicking it gives the Aztec mission tree. He loses the Mandate of Heaven missions though, but says it could be restored by saving Ming’s Haijin branching mission switch and click it after moving the capital back to Beijing. You'll need to save around 1000 admin points to move the capital from and back to the New World
@@StrategySphere I've been following both your and The Student's channel and I'm very surprised to see you here. By "saving Ming's mission switch" I meant to not click the Haijin (海禁) branching mission switch button until you've got the Aztec mission tree (which may cause the Mandate of Heaven missions to disappear) and have moved your capital back to Beijing (or maybe anywhere else in the China subcontinet). Then, when you confirm your choice of the branching mission, the whole mission tree gets refreshed and the MoH missions should reappear. Also, as a sidenote, there seems to be a exploit or bug which can let any religion to have a secondary religion (which, supposedly is only available for Tengri) and this can be used in the Ming-Aztec strat. If the nation you're playing is Tengri, and an event converting your religion has fired: 1. Change autosave period to monthly 2. Open the menu for choosing syncretic faith 3. Drag the window of the event and make sure the event's button is right above the button for the religion you want to syncretize 4. Wait for the monthly autosave - when it happens quickly click the event and the syncretize religion button 5. Your nation should now have a new national faith, along with a secondary faith (with the same secondary effect as if it's a Tengri syncretic). Some people playing Jianzhou Jurchen 建州女真 have been using this. After claiming the MoH, the event to convert to Confucianism will fire and often they choose to convert to Confucianism while syncretizing Hinduism with the bug. This with Humanist ideas gives very high tolerance for both heretics and heathens - plus it gives you access to Indian great projects (including a 10% CCR one). Same should apply to Ming in the strat if it's first converted to Tengri (by taking provinces from Oirat and provoking religious rebellions) and then using the bug with event converting to Nahuatl.
Hmmm. Want to go for All Blue. Don't think 15% ccr and 10% AE reduction is worth picking exploration and not expanding for 40 years but it's interesting for sure. For a more usual Portugal game it's definitely worth.
Small tips when playing Portugal. First go to 1700 inn the start screen and back too 1445 jan 1. And start there. Now you will have discovered one province inn the new world and you will start with Arguin allready colonized.

But apparently keep the ability to make the -40% naval barriage cost etc flagships at least. Do you know if mercenary casualties count towards the Tonalli gain? how are you able to have such a low Portugese population relative to the Aztecs? I was trying to copy this and ended up, even if destating everything with something like 60 portugese / 40 aztec.
You're no longer Iberian culture, so likely not. On the other hand, if you expand fueled by half states, you could form something like Italy, making sure to switch back to Aztec primary before month tick. That way, you can do 25% admin + 25% Italy + 15% government CCR. You only need to come up with another 10-15% to core in < 10 months, allowing to take/core arbitrarily large amounts of OE fast enough to mostly disregard the rebel hell. I think overall, it's a neat trick but not worth it. I wouldn't form Spain if attempting WC either though. Instead use culture drift to pick up permanent mission rewards from nations like Sardinia-Piedmont and Austria, maybe Prussia etc. Stack admin efficiency and dip annex cost. After that, you can form one last nation for admin eff. If you do this, you can annex vassals for 0.1 dip/development, and annex/release any nation with ~1000 dev or less into a vassal that costs 100 or less DIP to annex. Nice and silky smooth WC if you're not going for early date records, and doesn't even need you to swap religion! To be fair though, if you scum for espionage event, -AE stacking is pretty nice in early game. -10% for age ability, -40% from espionage idea + event (influence event got moved here recently), 10% from papal influence ability, 10% from prestige and you're already at -70% when max prestige by just scumming the pulse event, making practically everything you do ~"reconquest" lol. Aztec government can get you even closer to cap, same for scumming curia controller or some missions. I don't think Aztec gov't is most practical option even for this tactic though.
Please make background music less loud
