Hi ,Thankyou for the video.I have same machine with same fault.I have had the same fault 2 times . 1st time I got a professional to fix which lasted 1 year. 2nd I leave for 2 years or more until I discovered your video , so now I will try and fix the same way ,myself and follow your video. I am an Electrician but not pcb trained although I have some basic transistor knowedge so understand your method and have the correct tools. Your English is fine it is how we say in England "Qirky", keep up the good work .

Hello - I'm not native and I make here not a language perfect speech but I made here a how to repair the old CD-Players or other Hifi equipment. I think it is only a thing how you can repair simple any machines if they are not working. We should save the old machines in that case if you can't play a CD then your CD collection is never more usable. this was the first idea behind this and now it is explode and a lot of videos are made. And thank you for watching this chaos channel haha. I've fun to repair some thing but sometimes I can't repair it (fix it) in case of I have not all spar part available like new laser-pickups and different chip sets like RF-amps for laser-pickup. If you have some questions and we can find the service-manual in the internet so I can have a watch on it and tell you what I want measure or make a test on it etc. that is the idea behind this channel that we all can tell us some questions and this should start here in the commend line. What I'm missing here in this commend line is a possible upload for a picture that someone can ask all others for this failure an there own machines? - weakbit

Hi, thank you for your videos, I enjoy them. I had the same problem with my Mk3 cd player and tried removing the transistors and also wires 4 and 5. None of these worked for me but I resolved the issue by using the optical output and a low cost DAC to convert back to RCA to connect it to the H300 amp.

OK maybe there is a issue on the signal way and the DAC conversion way? But if this worked for you then it is OK. A DAC with a optical in you can get at Aliexpress I've on for test purpose and my DACs name is CM6206-LX (this is the name inside this little blue-box from the DAC). I think it cost around €16,- or so. Thank you for your comment weakbit

On that small PCB board on one corner is table with description of each cable , No4 is MUTE and in my case disconecting that cable resolve the problem. Thumbs up and subscription, without your video I would never have thought of it - Thank you !!!

But the base of the transistors must be high and if you disconnect it the base is flooding - that could work but is not a defined state.

@@weakbit633 yes, I know that this is an alternative solution, we should find the reason why it is mutated all the time, but there may be a way to start with a cable :)

Hi, had the same problem and solved it with desconnecting the cable marked with no4 on the electric board. There ist the "mute" and the "p-mute"-connection. Pick the cable out, and allrun properly ;-) Easy and fast!

Great video! I have a TEAC AH-500 with some strange issues.
Problem 1: when playing a music CD and the volume is off (0 dB), you can still hear music slightly through the speakers or headphone. another music source via Aux or MD gives the same result.
Problem 2: when only the amplifier is on without a music source, you hear a slight buzz tone through the speakers or headphones. No humming tone. What is a practical troubleshoot?

Hi the problem you have with this machine is normally caused by a problem in the power supply. Hope this helps

What for a model do you have to repair? Is there maybe a belt for the disc tray inside?

  • @sergiobisonte

maybe someone pushed the mute button on the remote, and lost the remote with the mute on

haha - I've never a CD-Player that remembers this 'Mute' after it's cold start (reset).

@@weakbit633 ive seen a video on the 12voltvideos, and he had a 80's cd player with the volume stored down

@@sergiobisonte I think this CD-Player is not from the 80s. IF you give a cold start it will be in the same position as like factory delivery. If not I'm very sorry but I think this will never go back at this CD-Player I've that on a other from the same model. But the mute transistors are full pull down and the µC don't release it and don't give it free. Maybe there is trick that reset the µC but I don't know it. Also on some X??ES from Sony this happened now for 2 times but it is not so often. Thank you weakbit
