If anyone is wondering, they're all words from Christmas songs! Check is from Santa Claus is Coming to Town. "He's making a list, he's CHECK(ing) it twice"
Poor Art feeling so ill , hope you feel better soon. I can sympathise , I was full of the cold at my school reunion on 9th October and I have been miserable this last fortnight with it in my chest. Lots of long cold infections about here but I was even ill for my cousin's funeral back in February - it just doesn't go away. Even thought I might have hay fever for the first time but it went on all summer too and into the backend.
There was a now rare bantam bred in Britain called a Nankin which some said was named for the cloth nankeen - both of Chinese origin . I was very surprised it took nankeen. The Nankin is a true bantam ie there is no large fowl equivalent, it only exists in the miniature version. The bantam was a yellowy buff colour akin to the cloth.
That's the difference between QB and QB -1. I'm not going to compete against you in this game anymore. I think it's clear who the winner is. Also, the analytics (which I will mention in tomorrow's video) display a precipitous drop-off just before I start the spelling bee. People are not interested.
@@RisetotheEquation You are the winner. No doubt about it. I am going to stop recording it too. Today was my last Spelling Bee video. I just don’t think it is a spectator-friendly game.
Connections, Yikes. But I know we all have our off days. I cleared light blue right away, then took a bit of time to decide on green meaning Exterior but it was common sense to me. Left with yellow and purple. I also put Brim in with the other three yellows thinking "full to the brim" had something to do with natural ability but in retrospect NOSE made more sense because you might say "the nose always knows" as what Toucan Sam used to always say. Someone said you might say "he has the nose for news". So that was my second pick and it worked leaving me to finish the puzzle with one error. I had no Aha moment on purple since I couldn't think of any phrases that involve Rhine, so I wasted time looking for word play which wasn't there. Well, it turns out there WAS a phrase with Rhine, and only one at that. Oh well, so much of this game comes down to Aha moments. You either get them or your don't. But using NOSE for natural ability reminds me of two other cases where they had three obvious synonyms and a tricky 4th for something. Here are two I remember: STRAIGHT, NONSTOP, CONSECUTIVE. One does not think of putting SOLID there, until you realize that you could have worked 3 hours solid on a report to meet the deadline. This one I remember I eventually got. PLATTER, SAMPLER, TASTING. One does not think of putting FLIGHT with these, unless you realize you can order a FLIGHT of beers at a bar to sample the local brews. This one I never got. So there you go. Usually when they do something in Connections, it's not the first time.
I've never heard of Intuit as a tech company and rhinestones are not the first thing that I think of regarding the Rhine! Ah well those quirky Americans !
Btw for that all vowel list I made, change the last word from "Zoeae" to "Zooea." Just remember: you have done so much! Everyone needs a break now and then. Don't feel the need to keep up with all these. I only watch the Wordle, so I won't care if you do just Wordle and Connections for a few days. Hope you feel better! :)
It is interesting that despite his condition, Art still manages to thrive in the word games that involve memory. To be fair, as a non-native speaker, this was one of the easiest Mini Crosswords as I recall and i only didn't know the middle letter of MANIC, so that Art's performance there was really really unfortunate imo. I was surprised that Art didn't know that meaning of NOSE, in portuguese that meaning also exists.
The Rhine flows from the Swiss Alps to the North Sea. It defines the parts of the border of Germany with Switzerland and with France then goes through Germany and Netherlands to the sea. It's just along border of France never really in it. You might be thinking of the Rhône which also comes from the Swiss Alps through France to the Mediterranean.
@@mattland3924 Ah I see. Thank you! I was always told in french class that the Rhine and Rhone both flow through France. Guess it was slightly inaccurate.
To keen is to make a mournful sound . Dolores O-Rhiordan of the Irish group the Cranberries was known for that style of singing. She was a distinctive talent.
We are hoping that you are seeing your doctor, Art, and taking on too many responsibilities can affect your health. You can possibly have WALKING PNEUMONIA or BRONCHITIS. Also, you are still doing well with your NYT games despite a few of your fails. Again, keep in mind that you cannot always be successful in these games.😎

This is favorite Xmas cartoon followed by "Rudolph. " My favorite classic is "Wonderful Life" followed by "Scrooge."
I feel for you Art! Take care of you. Take a sick day if you need to and rest up. We would all understand.
Hope you feel better soon!
Congrats on getting another Queen Bee.
Even feeling poorly, you are a whiz at Queen Bee.
Get well soon ❤

I finally blew my 22-day streak. I only managed to get two categories (green and blue) and couldn't figure out the last two categories.
The rhinestone cowboy had a brother who was a very heavily built man, he was known as the limestone cowboy.
That sounds like a Weird Al Yankovic tune. And the only reason it might not exist, Gene Campbell didn't allow Weird Al to parody that song.
hope you get well soon! :)
I only missed NANKEEN. Not something I've come across before.

I didn't know this one either. I also didn't know deke.

I was in two SPELLING BEES as a kid-the 4th and 6th grade. 😎
Please take care of yourself. Rest, rest, rest.
Art, get well soon.
Thanks, Joe. You're the best. My buddy from England :)
Hodge is a very common Scots surname but not a Wordle !
Congrats on the Queen Bee today! Is Ninsuk the other Chinese fabric you were talking about aside from nankeen?

A nose for news.
Keen is also a bird sound.
Art has a NOSE for sniffing out the solution. But not today...
Haha...
There were 4 rivers and it cost me a guess, RHINE AMAZON YELLOW AND BRIM WHICH IS ON THE North Coast region of British Columbia, Canada

Wordle....orate.....model...endow. I thought the spangram was going to be words from the ROCKY theme "gonna fly now".
Is Rhine not in France though?
