I have loved this man's music since I was 13...and now I'm 36! Saw him live for the first and only time in 1992 on the Your Arsenal tour. I'm going to see him in concert soon and I'm giddy like a teenager!!
This performance was the first time I was exposed to Morrissey. The next day I went looking for the album that had this song on it, and I couldn't find it - until two years later when he actually released it.
As much as I like this song, I can't imagine hearing this Morrissey before hearing the Smiths. My first exposure was a buddy with the compilation "The World Won't Listen", and it completely change the direction of my interest in music. Before that it was mostly Tool, The Beatles and Heatmiser, but then it was almost exclusively the Smiths for a good year.
"In America, The land of the free, they said, And of opportunity, In a just and a truthful way. But where the president, is never black, female or gay, and until that day, you've got nothing to say to me, to help me believe..." Awkwaaaaard
he stole our hearts away, didn't he?
this is the best version.

Wow! Great interview, part 1, and great performance. Kilborne really appreciates & understands Moz.
