The notion that getting out of lockdown is about 'playing the game,' doing as you're told, or generally doing tricks to please your masters is sick when it should be about moving out of the virus crisis stage, which we have done so already.
People don't recognise what is going on because the steps are so small that firstly they are difficult to see. Secondly it is very difficult to give a rational argument against any step without extrapolating where it might lead to. Arguments like that are easily dismissed.

You are fake Peter!
Stand strong folks fight for your rights, don’t be coerced or threatened, just do ya own thing
Peter Hitchens doesn't look well here and I don't blame him for staying off Twitter for a while. He still has plenty of loyal followers whilst the rest of the followers who have turned because Hitchens took the vaccine need to grow up. He is one of the journalists that has stuck firm on his antilock down policies and deserves a lot of respect for that alone .
Well said
Well no, a leader and let's make no mistake he is a leader since we have practically zero public figures anti-narrative, has a responsibility to encourage their followers to do the right thing.
Hes pathetic.
@@caroleanneruncorn4794 Grow up.
I love Peters vocabulary, I could listen to him for hours
We told them not to tell our child to wear a mask, because it's not healthy (as well as being a completely ineffective defence against a disease that doesn't affect children). Treating the children the way they are, masks, bubbles, staying away from school etc. It's all child abuse!
Get this guy off... He's right... But he's controlled opposition
Hitchens is sole voice of reason in this country. I got so much flack for supporting his position from the beginning and continue to get it now.
But like scumpton and farage he is now a turn coat and a hypocrite.
@@karlhawkes because they took the vaccine? Surely that's their choice if it's individual liberty we care about?
No he isn't..... there are many people like Lord Sumption who are even more eloquent and outspoken but who dont get the platform that Peter Hitchens does.
You mean he WAS the sole voice of reason....
@@gordonhamilton727 fair point - the sole voice of reason in the media from the start is a more accurate way of putting it i think
Mike still blubbering on about increasing infection risk to our teachers, go for a run FFS you toad!
Hitchens has lost all credibility. End of chat.
Wow are people still paying him, and is anyone taking any notice of this hypocrite
You sound childish and emotional. Was that your intention?
People moaning about Peter taking the vaccine. It's not vaccine Vs non-vaccine - it's about personal circumstance. If I was over 50 and had all the kids I wanted I would get it too!
It's about the passports and I hope Peter will campaign about those!
The notion that getting out of lockdown is about 'playing the game,' doing as you're told, or generally doing tricks to please your masters is sick when it should be about moving out of the virus crisis stage, which we have done so already.
Do the teachers have to wear them all day? I have heard reports that they are not doing so.
People don't recognise what is going on because the steps are so small that firstly they are difficult to see. Secondly it is very difficult to give a rational argument against any step without extrapolating where it might lead to. Arguments like that are easily dismissed.
@psingh63 Exactly
Indeed - Mátyás Rákosi 's' Salami slicing'. And what a nice chap he was.
So a Monarchy keeps a Govt not becoming autocratic. Open your eyes Peter. Have you heard of Boris?
The Monarchy is failing because of the present mess.
Today in the supermarket even though I knew wearing a mask was utterly pointless to stop a virus I did it to protect myself from frightened people.

''Today in the supermarket even though I knew wearing a mask was utterly pointless to stop a virus I did it to protect myself from frightened people.''
Do you possess enough of a command of the English language to understand how utterly inane your assertion is.
@@peterchurch2412 why don't you first explain to me why before I answer
@@MassiveLib Well, if you feel you need to be protected from ''frightened people,'' what sort of person does that make you.
@@peterchurch2412 it makes me the kind of person who was shouted at and called a murderer in a supermarket for not wearing a mask, it makes me the kind of person that realise that people have been deeply traumatised by the media and unscrupulous dictorial government that is pushing a drug trial on its population, threatening them with vaccine passports. People are unpredictable and deeply unconscious. That's why.
That would make me NOT wear one even more. And I DONT. 90% of this country are pathetic and the reason for this continued tyranny.
Look at the data issued by the Office of National Statistics and make your own mind up a to whether or not children and teachers are at risk.
Peter it's all incompetence Hitchens
Peter I surrender Hitchens
Peter Hitchens is my King.
Wan-
Hitchens is reading the future of the monarchy as wrong as his brother read the Iraq war.
Mike’s been through a hedge backwards
Can you please turn the volume up on your uploads? I have a nice ;laptop but it's sooooooooo low! :(
I think at the end of the day Hitchens is a journalist and a media figure and isn't actually immune from the pressure someone like that faces from their own colleagues. He's probably not actually used to this level of being cancelled because he's always pretty much kept to the party lines. He was never going to last as a true contrarian.
You need to be able to be the only one in the room who thinks something and then go to sleep easy, and feel confident that right or wrong, you made the best choice with the information you had. I don't think Hitch has that kind of balls.
For anyone interested in this topic you should read The British Presidency by Michael Foley
Yeh thanks J R Hartley...I mean Michael.
Oddly, the more extreme Republicans in Northern Ireland think that the IRA surrendered to the British, as opposed to Peter's view that the British surrendered to the IRA. The loyalists think that they lost the game despite the fact that Northern Ireland stayed in the United Kingdom.
Why has everyone suddenly developed a problem with Christopher Hitchens? As far as I can tell his position remains the same
Because people projected onto Hitchens their own fantasies and conspiracies. Hitchens as you say has been making the same points from the outset - namely on proportion, liberty, and scrutiny of the executive. He never opposed vaccines and he always rejected claims this was all a plan. He has always chalked it up to panic, incompetence and the chickens coming home to roost following a long move away from liberty in the UK.
...maybe because his name is Peter
I could understand the hostility if he'd opposed the vaccines initially then changed his mind.
@@alexlongman5053 Excellent points Alex. Well said.
My problem with Christopher Hitchens is that he is dead . Can't argue back.
I'm no fan of the monarchy or M&H. These people are very privileged!
Where's the full Mike Graham show, can only find this segment
Hi guys I bet Peter is glad he has had the jab but he still has to wear his muzzle in the limited shops that are open, no holidays this year even if you have had the jab ..there is definitely another agenda going on here ...
The monarchy - is it a break on government excesses - if not - what do they do?
Hitchens opinion is consistent on lockdown - and his insight is valuable regardless of vaccines.
He sold out. He should be quiet.
Where were people like Douglas Murray and Charles Moore when these lockdowns were imposed? I am really disappointed in their failure to address the issue - at least Peter Hitchins has tried to make legitimate points whereas the other two ‘influencers’ seem to have taken a rather cowardly stance
