      I got out of a speeding fine once because of one of those oblivious idiots... I'd pulled over knowing I had been caught, and while waiting for the cop to chuck a U turn (with his red and blue lights on) some other dude flew past way faster than I had been doing. On his phone.
      When we past them down the road, the cop smiled and waved.

      The driver is stopped in traffic; or
      The driver is driving more slowly than other vehicles (unless the driver is driving abnormally slowly in the circumstances)."

    only a few were minor highway speeding offenses, got some actual dangerous road thugs this time. They really should get an absolute bollocking for charging through reds at speed, like immediate license cancellation and impounding of the vehicle.
    A not surprising amount of posh car drivers doing stupid stuff, driving on phone, illegal u turns etc. Should scale the fines up with the value of the vehicle. They might stop doing it if they start getting 4-5 figure bills every time

    As a Kiwi, I scratch my head every time I watch one of these instant carma videos. I can understand speeding in NZ. Our fines start at $30 (27 aud) for up to 10 over, up to $630 (590 aud) for up to 50kmh over the limit. Your guys' fines are mental! It costs less to be caught doing 35 over in NZ than it costs to be caught doing 10 over in Queensland

    • @sjokomelk
      @sjokomelk 6 месяцев назад +3

      Here in Norway the minimum fine for anything traffic related is comparable to USD 100. Using your phone while driving - USD100. Not wearing a seatbelt - USD100. Speeding 6kmh over the speed limit (in lower than 60 zone) - 100USD. And then it escalates insanely up from there.

    • @Crabman_87

      Our speeding fines are ridiculously expensive and nonsensical. 10 over in a 40 zone outside a school is somehow just as dangerous as doing 10 over in a 110 zone.. then there's the magical double demerits for long weekends, if breaking the rules are dangerous double the demerits for all fines for the whole year and drop the dollar values.

      I'm a hetero male, but that cop does kind of look like Gigachad or Bear Grylls. He's very chisel chinned.

    9:43 The Dashcamer (Red 4x4) should have slowed down way more and left a larger gap before moving across lanes!!!! that was dangerous close. if i was the cop i would have a polite word with him and direct him to retake a driver refresher course.

    That first clip is the equivalent of hostile architecture against homeless people but for drivers, force a merge into traffic so buses have 'priority'. Just designed for revenue gathering, surprised wherever that is doesn't have an 'enforcement' camera permanently on.

      This is at -37.906378597787906, 145.06054631781623
      If you go look at that location in the satellite view website of your choice, you'll see it's a bit more complicated than the video lets on. I am pretty sure I (not a professional traffic engineer) could come up with a more-sensible solution than what they've got there, but I do understand why they did it that way.

      wish the cop was paying more attention. the cyclist filtered along the kerb and then ran the red light.

      Most likely on the phone. You see the cop looking at the driver for some time, expecting him/her to notice but it was only until they put on their lights.
