@@HorrorBabble Wow I was not expecting a response. While I have your attention, can I request that you make a playlist or video for the sound effects you use with the Lovecraft stories? I'm putting together a Call of Cthulu campaign and your capturing of the Shoggoth's cry is superbly horrifying.

I've just fallen asleep and restarted this 3 times because I love Robert E. Howard and your narration is always worth it! Your accents are good! Ambiguous? Sounds pretty literal to me, lol.
I really appreciate your choice to venture beyond Lovecraft into the rest of the circle. Aside from being enjoyable on their own, comparing their styles is very interesting. It is frequently said that Lovecraft care little for (or about) people and that his stories reflect this through their flat characters and non-existent dialogue. Howard's stories on the other hand are almost character-driven at times.
Woo hoo! Shout out to Richmond, Virginia! Its always nice to find your city mentioned in stories like this :) I wonder what Professor James Clement teaches
It's me again the guy that cried about your accent under one of your Lovecraft stories. Just want to express again how much I appreciate you doing these readings and even much more how I appreciate their not being adds in the middle of the story. Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night to your phone screeming at you to download Robinhood or sign up to win a trip to Uganda. Thanks again man. And for the record I've come to terms with the accent.
The Story reminds of The Fire of Asshurbanipal from the Author...hmm maybe there several Temple with glowing Gems and Guardian Creature that similar to each other possible the Spawns of Gol-Goroth or any of Toadlike Elder Gods.
Must admit when i had first learned of Lovecraft was when i found a lovecraftian mythos section in DnD, more specifically the Dieties and Demigods. ...But ...i got a scare when i look into the book anymore there is no such mythos. As if to say, the Outer Gods do not simply give such information freely.
The original printing of Deities and Demigods was my introduction to Lovecraft as well. It was also my introduction to Moorcock. Chaosium had Cthulhu and Elric games at the time, so TSR was required to lose their Cthulhu and Melnibonean sections upon reprinting Deities and Demigods. Not even the Great Old Ones can fight the power of international copyright lawyers!
There seem to be many stories with this basic storyline. As much as I like Howard this seems half-hearted, as if he knew he could never match the master Lovecraft. (I didn't like your voice at first but realized how brilliant you are as the story went on. Excellent.work!)
Isn't Junzt a 'made-up' name? He has appeared in many previous productions, and I always pronounce it the same way. Does it sound wrong to your ears TD?

Out of all the narrations of horror out there, this channel has consistently have had above par narrators. They capture voice and tone perfectly.
Thank you Michael, we appreciate that! Ian

Thank you, always love to hear more REH horror, a much under appreciated author these days.
We've got a huge list of REH stories to work through - he rarely disappoints. Ian
Banger!
My nightly ritual:
A glass of scotch or cup of oolong tea
Horror babble
That is all
You forgot the most important aspect, repeat process.
Ha! Me too. Green tea though.
a most excellent ritual, I do the same as often as I can
Sounds like heaven.
like the stories, like the narration, but most of all im so impressed that they are all in one place thanks to all here and youtube!
I'm so glad I found this channel, it has gotten me through many a insomniac episodes. Great story my man. Keep it up
You are the best reader of Howard I've ever heard. That was fantastic, loved it.Thank you so much.
Thanks again John!
When up from the roof there arose such a clatter. It's not santa! Gimme back my toad. So good. Love the work, lets have some more duets. Thanks again
I sprang from bed going mad as a hatter! For upon that roof did I my poor eyes see, the eyes of the unspeakable looking back at Me!
What a brilliant writer. I had high expectations based on the reports of my friends, but he exceeded them.
Yes, the reading is superb, much better than some I heard before.
Well done Mr. Gordon and Horror Babble! Well done! Excellent as always. Until next time.
This is an amazing story, but again its the way its told that makes it so real in ones mind. Love this type of story
If it is just Ian doing the accents, then he is an even greater narrator than I'd previously surmised prior to listening to this story.
That's kind of you to say, Blitz! I'm a work-in-progress. Ian

Brilliant. Thank you for posting 10/10
Love anything mythos-adjacent. Love it more when Ian narrates.
Awesome, that's tonight's bedtime story sorted. Thank you very much!!

So keen for more content from my favourite mythos!
Danny Kwood be careful. do not wish for what is truly horrible!

Vayos ReaperoftheVoid that section was removed for copyright violations but I like your explanation better. :)
Is that right, shame that.

Why Robert.E.Howards skull face reading was removed from RUclips? It was one of my favorite readings from Horrorbabble.
You can listen to it, ad-free, here: horrorbabble.bandcamp.com/album/skull-face-and-other-weird-tales-a-collection
Thank you
20:26 It's strange now to hear Ian say "You fool!" when it's not followed by "Warren is dead."
More Howard pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top?
I love the way you said ‘disgusting squashy sound’ 😄❤️👹
this is part of the Conrad and Kirowan series the transcriber is John Conrad
I did not know that - I'll have to do my research. Thanks! Ian

Can we check the pronunciation of van Junst?
Isn't Junzt a 'made-up' name? He has appeared in many previous productions, and I always pronounce it the same way. Does it sound wrong to your ears TD?
HorrorBabble - the book name is German. I just checked Wikipedia and the fictional author is von Junzt. So it would be Yoonst. I think.
Confirmed with German bloke. Junzt like yacht. Or yak. Not Judge.
Makes sense! Hadn't occurred to me. I'll keep that in mind for future Von Junzt appearances! Thanks TD, Ian.
HorrorBabble - my pleasure.
Lovecaftian, even down to the racism. 🤦♂️Decent enough story though.
Uh call me crazy but Juan Gonzales doesn't sound like a white guy lol
