    So I made a slab with dimensions 40x60cm and there were 2 big holes that I wanted to fill with epoxy.
    I put a thin plastic bag and filled it with rice, and put it in the holes, so I put the bag in a measuring cup and found the volume.
    It was pretty accurate.

    There's 128 oz per gallon so for smaller pours multiply by 128 to get ounces.

    I've only made two river tables, but I use a much simpler method to determine amount of epoxy: put your pieces in the mold, then fill the river with something- I use bird seed, take the pieces out and transfer the bird seed to a measuring bucket

    The volume of a Triangular Prism is ½ x b x h x w. So that last volume you calculated is supposed to be divided by 2 since we are dealing with an approximate triangular shape.

    • @GoodViewWoodworks
      @GoodViewWoodworks  4 года назад

      Ebuka Francis thank you! The reason I don’t do it that way is because you will always need extra epoxy. This covers seepage and absorption. So by getting the general rectangular shape you save yourself the hassle of under calculating.

    that is very helpful but if you are in a area that has pour cell service and can't use Google just remember that one liter will fill 61 cubic inches. So take you total cubic inches and divide by 61 that will give you the total liters and there are 4 liters in a gallon.

    • @GoodViewWoodworks
      @GoodViewWoodworks  3 года назад

      Also you can divide the cubic inches by 231 to give you gallons. Hope this helps

    Glad google search gave me you today.omg expensive. 5 table top of foldable tables looks about size & thickness of your project it will take me 5. 56 gallons. I guess I could do 1 at a time every few months till do all. Michael's not have that amount so hope you have a link or can find cheapest 1.5 gal. I hope I can do this project & also saw your's finished & process. They only have the 8oz online. The box one with chess table etc was expensive I think & out or not see when went, cuz covid salpeole that wree able to go there got it plus curious of other item glowed the dark was put clearance. Doubt will get it again for that price either. $4 great to try out. You said kit, but its $95 expensive gallon. I think i just will do shine ia less money etc. I just need the tables to look nice. Protected. Tired of them being like that and further damages in estetics etc. I guess when fix my place & have room to work etc finally then I can work on them & pend money for them.my numbers was bigger and gallons says less. Weird. My foldable table got 18.2x14,by under 1 so rounding it to 1,cuz 2 lines away or so. Got 252.8.

    Do you have any tips on leveling a piece of warped dry wood?
    I don't know the technical terms, but my neighbor said to call around wood working places and ask them if they would do contract pieces.
    I failed cause I couldn't ask them properly.
    How should I go about asking theses places to level a piece?

    So how do you figure out how much of part a and part B to mix to come out with the fall gallons of resin that you need to make ?

    • @GoodViewWoodworks
      @GoodViewWoodworks  5 лет назад +1

      Aaron urz good question. You don’t need to figure that out. When you order resin, it comes with part A and B and is already portioned out. If it’s a 1 gallon kit, it has enough A and B to make 1 gallon when mixed together. Make sense?
