Josh’s teammates say they’d run through a wall from him. He has inspired that feeling through his style of play. Now he has enough experience where he can now lead by being critical and demanding more from his teammates. I don’t think Josh felt as a younger player he had the right to criticize and demand. Now he has more years than many of his teammates and will feel more inclined to demand more from his teammates. At least that’s what I’m hoping for.

Josh Allen jumps Linebackers, puts his head down when most fall down like Diggs does! Alpha ! No Doubt! Screaming at people does nothing today! The best leader always shows the way not hold the flashlight for others! He is a General in the front lines! That’s an Alpha!

I love Josh but something that doesn’t get talked about enough is that he has to start taking more of those easy, open man passes underneath. It will Benefit the Whole Offense if he Does more of “taking what the defense gives him” If you watch closely, there’s open guys like Kincaid or Cook, Etc wide open in the flat but so many times he just doesn’t want to throw that pass, (maybe he was forcing targets to Diggs.?) but he should start utilizing those opportunities. Move the chains, ware that defense down and it will open up the run game AND the Deep Shots. It’s a mindset that we all know Josh is capable of Doing. We have seen him surgically dismantle defenses like that. I believe that’s the kind of Offense Brady is going to want to Run, especially early in the season. Run the Ball, play an efficient pass game and try to Rack up some much needed R.A.C.

100%. Josh wants the HR too often. And there have been games where he has focused on hitting checkdowns, and it has opened things up. My biggest problem with Josh is his decision making. Elite talent in every category, but he still makes bad decisions too much, and part of that is not taking the underneath throws when they're there.

I look at the Josh leadership thing this way: He knows what he has to do. Look at the early years....he knew he had things to clean up...and he put in the work....and cleaned up his mechanics and his performance took off. I think he knows that he has to be the leader, and he'll push himself to do it. The guys will follow him when he does, b/c he's out there leading by example. Guys listen to guys like that. Go Bills.

Hugh fan of the pod! Great comments on QBs who are natural Alphas- but it can be a double edged sword. Look no further than Troy Aikman, who admitted that the second half of his career was miserable because he had to yell at teammates incessantly, when that should have been the coach’s job. There are multiple other examples, of course.
I agree with your points of Josh becoming more of a vocal leader in holding the younger players to a high standard, but that is extremely difficult if the coaching staff isn’t equally as vocally insistent .
Love them or hate them, there’s a lot to be said for a Parcels, Buddy Ryan/Ditka persona to take pressure off your QB!

Diggs may have been an alpha but seeing Josh sitting on the bench during the Cincinnati game with Diggs being animated in front of him said a lot to me about Josh’s demeanor. Instead of developing an alpha complex, showing some bravado on the sidelines during a game may help. He does it on the field when things go well, he just needs to show it when things aren’t going well to help build the confidence of those around him. That’s what a great leader does.

Genuine Question, when are these examples of where we needed Allen to be more of an "Alpha"??
For all the talk of him needing to be this type of vocal leader, I dont understand where this is coming from like its been something lacking and impacting games.
If we look at the Playoffs this last season against the Chiefs, when was he suppose to be fiery and he wasnt?? At what moment were people looking for for him to get on someone?? Same question in the prior post season exits
I just feel like this whole topic is a silly offseason narrative that really doesnt any measurable bearings why we have/and or havent made the leap.
Unless Allen is gonna start being vocal yelling at defense/special teams, What is he suppose to handle any different that he doesnt already handle??

My one biggest criticism of Josh is that he doesn’t push the team hard enough. I want to see him lose his his shit on the side line and get seriously pissed off and fired up. To me that shows the passion and that’s when the Alpha emerges. The team feeds off of him and when he shows no fire, they have no fire.
